Chapter 81 Zombie Siege

Lin Anran, who was returning to the villa area, saw two shadowy figures in front of her house from afar.

"Sis! She really carried her dad over!"

It's a miracle that such a tiny little thing could do this to save its father.

The little girl kept looking around, and when she saw a familiar face, she quickly ran up.

"Sister! Can you save my dad now?"

"Okay! Let's go."

Lin Yu picked up the unconscious man from the ground and carried him back to the villa, with the little girl following closely behind.

Lin's parents didn't ask any questions when they saw this. They tidied up the sofa and skillfully went to get the first-aid kit.

When Lin's mother was young, she passed a medical certification exam and could be considered a semi-entry-level doctor.

She examined him for a moment, then slowly said, "He must have been hungry. His stomach was full of water; he hadn't eaten anything. How could he not have fainted?"

"Honey, go to the kitchen and heat up the millet porridge we had this morning. If he doesn't eat soon, his life will be in danger."

The little girl stared intently at her father on the sofa, her gaze never leaving him.

After swallowing the warm porridge, the man coughed softly, his voice weak, "Xiaoxiao, Xiaoxiao, Daddy's here, no, don't be afraid..."

Hearing that her father could talk, the little girl quickly grabbed his calloused hand, "Daddy! Xiaoxiao is here! Xiaoxiao is not afraid, Daddy, don't leave Xiaoxiao, waaaah!"

A touching scene of family affection unfolded before everyone's eyes.

Lin's mother covered her mouth, "So touching! Waaah!"

The man regained consciousness for a moment, then fell asleep again. Lin's mother assured him that he was just too tired and had only fallen asleep. Only then did the little girl pick up the small bowl of porridge on the table and gently drink it.

Lin Yu explained what had just happened to his parents, who were also shocked.

The little girl is quite strong!

It wasn't until late at night that the man slowly woke up. He looked around the unfamiliar house warily until he saw his daughter sleeping beside him, at which point his eyes softened.

Lin Anran petted the cat, and the kitten let out a comfortable humming sound.

Big Black was the first to notice that the man was awake. It trotted over, stuck out its tongue, and scrutinized the man intently.

"Huh? You're awake?"

The man carefully got up, took his precious daughter into his arms, and looked at Lin Anran warily.

He felt the power returning to his body, clenching his fist in readiness for battle. "Who are you?"

"I am Lin Anran, a resident of the villa area. Your daughter stopped me on the road and begged me to save you, and that's how you ended up here!"

The man looked at his sleeping daughter with concern and gently covered her with a blanket. "Thank you!"

"No need to thank me. It's getting late. My mom has prepared a guest room on the third floor. You can stay here with Xiaoxiao for the night. We can talk about leaving tomorrow if you want."

The man didn't want to trouble his daughter either. If they went out now, they would still have to sleep on the roadside. He didn't want his daughter to suffer with him, so he politely thanked him and gently carried her upstairs.

The next day, the man brought the little girl downstairs, bowed deeply to the group, and prepared to leave, but Lin's mother stopped him.

"There's no rush to have breakfast first."

Breakfast was simple, but it was the most filling meal the two of them had eaten in a while.

As they left the villa, the girl smiled sweetly, "Thank you, uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters, thank you all!"

She turned around and the thick, calloused hand disappeared from sight.

Over the next three days, the scorching sun melted large areas of snow, and the temperature soared to 35 degrees Celsius. Lin Anran and the others took off their military overcoats and put on refreshing summer outfits.

Lin Yu ate glass after glass of chilled fruit beer until the heat finally subsided.

"Sis! You mean there really will be a massive zombie horde soon?"

A massive zombie horde!

The small horde of zombies they encountered last time had already given them a hard time, but this time, having learned their lesson, they would definitely not let their guard down.

"Yes! Thousands upon thousands of zombies are migrating from the north to the south. If we can't stop them, the entire base will be razed to the ground."

She admitted that there was some element of intimidation in her statement, but it wasn't far off; the terror of a zombie apocalypse was equivalent to dancing in a crocodile rave.

Now, she will no longer be at the mercy of others as she did in her previous life. Her family, her lover, and her friends will all be her strong support.

In this life, she'll see if those people can lure away nearly half of the zombies without her.

In the afternoon, Lin Anran and Jiang Qinian went to the outermost part of the base, inoculated the vines around the high wall, and then slowly walked towards Area C.

Lin's parents made so many dumplings that they said they couldn't finish them all, so they packed them into two backpacks and asked them to take some to Luo Chun and the others, along with a large bag of chilled fruit.

"Sister Ranran and Brother Jiang are here again!" The children in the yard ran out happily and surrounded the two of them.

A little voice, filled with confusion, called from afar, "Sister Ranran, look at the kite I made! Huh? Where's Brother Xiaoyu? I want to play with Brother Xiaoyu!"

"The kite you made is really beautiful. Your brother Xiaoyu is busy, but I'll ask him to come and play with you next time."

"Mmm! Okay~"

Lin Anran placed the supplies from her backpack on the table and left without staying for tea.

Luo Chun and the others were very busy earning points, so she felt embarrassed to bother them any longer. She took the opportunity to stroll around with Jiang Qinian and do some things that couples do.

At night, the superhuman squad was on night duty as usual, while the guards on the wall kept dozing off.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently, the earth-shaking force resembling a thousand horses galloping across the land.

The guard came out of the pavilion, took out his night-vision binoculars, and after taking a closer look, he was so frightened that he could hardly speak.

"Captain Xu, Captain Xu, zombies...zombies, a zombie horde! A zombie horde is coming!"

Xu Hu took the night vision binoculars from his trembling hands. Even though he had seen huge waves and tides, he was still terrified by the scene.

However, he reacted quickly, rushing into the guard booth and pressing the emergency red button.

Alarms blared from broadcasts throughout the base.

"Urgent Notice! Urgent Notice! Zombie Siege! Zombie Siege! All residents of the base, please prepare for battle! All residents, please prepare for battle!"

"Urgent notice! Urgent notice!..."

People were jolted awake from their sleep, their expressions upon hearing of the approaching zombie horde no less than if they were not their own children.

Chaos reigned at the base, and the leadership hastily crawled out of their comfortable lives.

"Deputy base commander! What do we do? The zombies are attacking!"

Mediterranean was furious. "Then what are we waiting for? Get ready for battle!"

In a matter of moments, the zombie horde was very, very close.

The roars of countless zombies came from afar, and the fastest zombie was already frantically scratching at the door, the ear-piercing sound sending chills down one's spine.
