Chapter 252 Doubt

Seeing Zhou Haiji's smug look, Qi Ke'er really wanted to tear his mouth to shreds.

But she remained outwardly calm and said, "Really?"

"That's right! Let me tell you! Zhou Haiyuan usually seems so arrogant, thinking he's so great. He has no idea that in the old man's heart, he's just cannon fodder." Even though Zhou Haiji knew that he was no match for Zhou Haiyuan, the more he thought about it, the more resentful he became.

"This bastard dares to compete with me for Xinyuan Group? Bah!" Zhou Haiji was actually just here to show off.

Qi Ke'er's nails were almost digging into her palms, and her expression became somewhat gloomy and uncertain. Unfortunately, the excited Zhou Haiji did not notice the change in Qi Ke'er's expression at all.

"Alright! Third Young Master, you've been here for quite a while now, hurry up and leave! It would be troublesome if the Old Master found out." Qi Ke'er gave him the order to leave without any politeness.

"Alright then!" Zhou Haiji hugged Qi Ke'er and kissed her on the cheek. He knew he had been there for quite some time. Even if Zhou Haiji was incredibly bold, he was still afraid of Zhou Guichuan deep down.

"I'll be going now! Ke'er, I'll come see you again when I have time!"

Qi Ke'er watched Zhou Haiji's retreating figure with disgust, finally revealing her true feelings.

She really couldn't understand why someone as cunning and shrewd as Zhou Guichuan would have such a stupid son as Zhou Haiji.

She almost lost her temper when that good-for-nothing was talking badly about Haiyuan, but thankfully she managed to hold back in the end.

"Miss Ke'er, Zhou Haiji has already left!" his subordinate reported. These people were all arranged for her by Zhou Haiyuan.

"Okay! I got it! No one else noticed, right?" Qi Ke'er touched her stomach.

"Our people have been observing secretly; no one else should have noticed!"

"Okay! I understand! The old man's been acting strangely lately, you all have to be careful! Don't let anyone find out!" Qi Ke'er closed her eyes. "I'm going to sleep for a while, come find me if you need anything!"

Just as Qi Ke'er closed her eyes to rest, in an unknown corner outside her door, a woman dressed in cleaning clothes slowly stood up.

"Uncle Zhou, there really is something going on over here!" She threw down the vacuum cleaner and said excitedly into the walkie-talkie.

"You did a great job! They didn't find out, did they?"

"No, I was just pretending to clean, and they didn't notice me at all."

Twenty minutes later, the woman disguised as a cleaner entered a room with the words "tool room" on it, where Uncle Zhou was already waiting for her.

"I just saw two people sneak in. That place happens to be a blind spot for the surveillance cameras, but I've already taken pictures." The woman handed the USB drive to Uncle Zhou.

Uncle Zhou skillfully turned on the computer and began browsing through the photos she had taken.

Most of it was useless content, and it wasn't until the last few pages that useful information finally appeared.

A furtive young man, under the cover of several others, entered Qi Ke'er's room.

The moment Uncle Zhou saw the man's face clearly, he looked astonished. "It was him!"

The face on the screen was none other than Zhou Haiji.

"Could it be that the Third Young Master has been in private contact with Miss Ke'er all along?" Uncle Zhou muttered to himself.

An hour later, in the chairman's office.

Zhou Guichuan was lying on a rattan chair in his pajamas. A sexy woman dressed as a maid was massaging his shoulders, while Uncle Zhou stood respectfully beside the chair.

"You mean Haiji has been meeting with Ke'er in private all along?" Zhou Guichuan asked slowly without even opening his eyes.

"It seems that way at the moment!" Uncle Zhou said somewhat awkwardly.

“I understand. Keep an eye on her and see if she’s been in contact with anyone else.”

Although it was his own son, Zhou Haiji's planting of his own people around him still made him very uncomfortable.

"Old Zhou, do you think I'm getting old?" Zhou Guichuan suddenly sighed.

"Chairman, you're only in your sixties, in the prime of your life! How could you be old? Look at the president of country A, he's already over 80, and nobody says he's old!" Uncle Zhou quickly flattered him. He had known Zhou Guichuan for decades and knew Zhou Guichuan's unpredictable personality better than anyone.

Just then, a young man in a suit and tie pushed open the door and walked in. "Chairman, it's almost time for another board meeting!"

Zhou Guichuan sat up. "Alright, I understand! You can all leave now! I'll be right there!"

The situation in City A is changing rapidly, and he must stay informed of the latest developments in order to adjust his strategies and policies accordingly.

The sexy maid helped Zhou Guichuan change his clothes and then left.

After getting ready, Zhou Guichuan walked towards the conference room with great enthusiasm.

Zhou Guichuan pushed open the conference room door, where everyone was already sitting neatly, waiting for him.

"Chairman, this year our Xinyuan Group has faced many challenges, but because many things have not been decided, we all feel lost. I think it's time to determine the successor of Xinyuan Group." An old man with white hair spoke first.

It all started with this white-haired old man.

The others chimed in, and everyone present was no fool; they could tell at a glance that this had been rehearsed long ago.

"Oh! I have no idea who to choose. So, who do you think I should pick?" Zhou Guichuan said calmly.

"Young Master Haiji has performed very well during this period, handling many things with great maturity."

"Yes, yes! Besides, Young Master Haiji is the son of the late Madam. It's not that Young Master Haiyuan is bad, but for the sake of the late Madam, I also think Young Master Haiji is more suitable."

The others echoed this sentiment.

Zhou Haiji responded modestly, "No, not at all! I've only been working at the group for a short time, how could I possibly compare to my second brother?"

"Young Master Haiji, don't be modest! Everyone has seen your performance since you joined the group. No one is more suitable to take over Xinyuan Group than you!" the white-haired old man shouted enthusiastically. He was now completely pinning his hopes on Zhou Haiji. If this matter succeeded, he would be a carefree employee.

“That’s right, that’s right, I think there’s no one more suitable than the Third Young Master. Why don’t we just settle this matter as it is?” A slightly overweight middle-aged man chimed in.
