While Li Churan and Zhou Haiyuan were recruiting soldiers, Xiao Jingchen was also nervously making preparations.

"Erhuang, how far are they?" Xiao Jingchen asked as he walked towards Brother Longfei's residence.
"It's probably still about 20 kilometers!" Erhuang transmitted his voice.
"I'm going to find Brother Long Fei. You go and inform the others!" Xiao Jingchen ordered directly.
Erhuang shook its shiny black fur and then leaped towards Zhao Xuan and the others' room.
"Brother Longfei, get up quickly! They're here!" Xiao Jingchen knocked on Brother Longfei's door.
"What? You're here so fast! I'll be right out!" Brother Longfei quickly got dressed and opened the door.
"Brother Longfei, go and arrange things for the others first. I'll go back to the living area first. Ye Ning is alone there, I'm afraid she'll be scared." Xiao Jingchen said this and walked towards the living area.
When Xiao Jingchen returned to the room, Ye Ning was still fast asleep. He looked at her long, smooth curls lying on the pillow and her high, delicate nose. He wondered what she was dreaming about, as the corners of her mouth were still slightly upturned, as innocent as a child.
He really didn't want to disturb Ye Ning's sleeping face, but it was a special time, so he had no choice but to wake Ye Ning up.
Xiao Jingchen nudged Ye Ning's shoulder. "Ye Ning, get up quickly!"
Ye Ning's eyelashes trembled slightly, and then she slowly opened her eyes.
"Jingchen, you're back?!" Ye Ning was both surprised and delighted to see Xiao Jingchen.
"Ye Ning, there's been a little trouble at the shelter. We might need to go and handle it. You stay here quietly and don't leave. I'll take care of it soon!" Xiao Jingchen kissed Ye Ning's forehead.
"What happened? You look so serious. Has someone else attacked us?" Ye Ning asked quickly.
"Looks like I can't hide it from you after all! Someone did attack. Just stay in your room and I'll handle it quickly." Xiao Jingchen patted Ye Ning's head.
"I feel like there's quite a commotion here. Are you really alright? Maybe I should go check on things too!" The more nonchalant Xiao Jingchen appeared, the more worried Ye Ning became.
"It's alright! Just stay here quietly, I'll take care of everything. Aunt Wang and Dr. Liu will stay here with you." Xiao Jingchen had already arranged temporary rooms for Aunt Wang and Liu Yangyang in the living area.
"But I'm worried." Ye Ning was still somewhat hesitant.
"Ye Ning, don't worry. I have my own plans for what's going on outside. If you're out there, you'll only distract me from protecting you. You should stay in a safe place so I can deal with the enemy with peace of mind." Xiao Jingchen pulled Ye Ning to sit on the bed.

"How is the situation now?" Xiao Jingchen stood in front of the large screen, where each box displayed the surveillance footage.
"They have about 2,000 men, and their advance force is now only three kilometers away from us," Zhao Xuan reported.
“Young Master Jingchen, we only have less than 700 people here. Should we transfer some more people from the base?” Uncle Yun asked.
"No need. Have the base prepare as well. It's close to the central area and has ample resources on the surface, making it easy for the Xinyuan Group to covet it. We must be careful of a simultaneous sneak attack."
The supplies in the base are mostly stored in the warehouse, which does seem easy to rob. As for the shelter, most of the supplies are stored in Ye Ning's space. If Zhou Haiyuan didn't know the inside story, the base would definitely be more tempting.
"Zhou Haiyuan really went all out this time, mobilizing so many people," Brother Longfei couldn't help but remark.
