Ye Ning started the engine, and an hour later, Ye Ning and Xiao Jingchen finally returned to the shelter.
The wall surrounding the shelter wasn't finished yet, but Ye Ning drove straight through the gate.
The construction workers who were working only saw the car door open and a handsome man and a beautiful woman, who looked like celebrities, get out of the car.
Wang Ma and the others quickly came to greet them.
Everyone was pleasantly surprised to see Xiao Jingchen, who hadn't been home for a long time.
"It's Young Master Jingchen. Young Master Jingchen, why did you come back early?"
"It's nothing, the school let out for holiday early," Xiao Jingchen replied casually.
From childhood to adulthood, Xiao Jingchen has always been aloof and cold towards everyone except Ye Ning.
"Oh dear! Young Master Jingchen's room isn't ready yet! What a mess I've been making!" Wang Ma slapped her thigh, lamenting.
If she had known that Young Master Jingchen would be coming back early, she would have packed her things sooner.
"It's alright! It's not too late to pack now. Wang Ma, you go and prepare dinner first! Jingchen and I will eat in the dining room later."
Wang Ma and the others quickly went down and busied themselves with the tasks.
Taking advantage of this break, Ye Ning showed Xiao Jingchen around the rooms in the living area.
As soon as the two reached the gate of the living area, Da Huang and Er Huang rushed out upon hearing their owner's voice.
The two little ones, seeing Xiao Jingchen whom they hadn't seen in a long time, licked and rubbed against him, practically running wild with joy, jumping around excitedly.
"Alright, alright! Big Yellow and Little Yellow, Jingchen just went out on some business and is back now. You two go back to your nests and play!" Although Big Yellow and Little Yellow were a little reluctant, they still went back to their nests, looking back every few steps.
Ye Ning pulled Xiao Jingchen inside.
"Jingchen, look, this is the living room. We can watch movies here from now on. It's just a pity that we can only watch movies from the archives, and there won't be any new blockbusters anymore," Ye Ning said with regret.
"It's okay, we can download more of the latest theatrical releases these next few days."
"This is the dining room, and that's the kitchen." Of course, Ye Ning basically doesn't know how to cook.

Finally, Ye Ning went to the bedroom.
"Jingchen, this is your bedroom. It's decorated in the style you used to like. The bed is by the window, and this is the walk-in closet. I've prepared some clothes for you. I don't know if you'll like them."
Xiao Jingchen remained noncommittal, showing neither surprise nor any expression.
"Also, my bedroom is right across from yours, so you can see me as soon as you step out the door."
"But I want to see you as soon as I wake up, what should I do!" Xiao Jingchen suddenly leaned forward, trapping Ye Ning in a corner, and said ambiguously.
"Jingchen, stop fooling around!" Ye Ning blushed, she didn't even know when she had become such an easily embarrassed person.
Just as the ambiguity between the two was gradually heating up, Wang Ma's voice rang out at the right time, "Miss, Young Master Jingchen, it's time to eat!"
"Jingchen, let's eat first!" Ye Ning said cautiously.
Xiao Jingchen cursed inwardly, thinking it was really bad timing, but he still reluctantly followed Ye Ning to the restaurant.
Wang Ma's cooking skills are as good as ever. Although it's just a simple home-cooked meal, it's delicious and visually appealing.
Since Xiao Jingchen was returning home today, as is customary, the place was decorated with aromatherapy and fresh flowers.
Xiao Jingchen and Ye Ning ate their first meal together since their rebirth.
"Jingchen, this is your favorite red wine braised oxtail." Ye Ning poked a piece of oxtail and held it to Xiao Jingchen's lips.
"Jingchen, do you remember that time in our past life when we dug up a small supermarket and made red wine stewed beef with beef that was frozen solid?"
"Of course I remember. I got sick the next day, and you took care of me for a whole day and night." Xiao Jingchen still remembered that he almost thought he couldn't hold on at that time.
The flutter in his heart and the sweetness he felt when Ye Ning cried and said that she couldn't live if he died.
The past ten years in the apocalypse have been filled with too much heartache, but thankfully we had each other and were able to get through it together.
Xiao Jingchen poured a glass of red wine for Ye Ning, and then poured one for himself.
"Jingchen, you've never liked drinking!" Ye Ning said, somewhat surprised.
"I'd like a drink today." Xiao Jingchen's eyes sparkled like stars.
In the dim candlelight, Xiao Jingchen and Ye Ning reminisced about the past, both of them slightly tipsy.
Before we knew it, it was ten o'clock, and Wang Ma had finished tidying up Ye Ning and Xiao Jingchen's rooms.
"Jingchen, it's getting late. Why don't we go back to our rooms and rest?" Ye Ning said first.
"Okay!" Xiao Jingchen nodded.
The two of them walked together to the bedroom door.
She should have pushed the door open and gone in, but Xiao Jingchen stood motionless at Ye Ning's door, staring at her with a gaze that seemed to contain an inexplicable heat, almost scalding Ye Ning.
"Jingchen, goodnight!" Ye Ning blushed and was about to close the door when suddenly a strong hand grabbed the doorknob.
It's Xiao Jingchen.
"Jingchen, what's wrong?" Ye Ning asked, somewhat at a loss.
Xiao Jingchen darted in, bracing himself against the wall with one hand, trapping Ye Ning inside. His breathing was rapid. He stared intently at her, "Ye Ning, even now, are you still going to push me away?"
