More than an hour later, Ye Ning and the other two finally arrived at the convention center where they had previously sought refuge from the cold.
Large swaths of dark clouds gathered in the sky as if by an invisible hand, and the cold wind howled in chilling gusts, the howling sound like the whispers of a demon in one's ear.
"The heavy snow is coming soon, hurry up and go inside!" Xiao Jingchen stopped the car, picked up Ye Ning, and slipped into the building, with Da Huang following closely behind them.
Long Fei quickly pushed his snowmobile in, then promptly boarded up the entrance and moved over several shelves to block it.
This kept the raging cold wind outside at bay.
The wind outside was getting stronger and stronger, and the entire convention center was creaking and groaning, as if a huge monster was roaring in the wind, and the convention center was its prey. Fortunately, the convention center itself was structurally sound; otherwise, it might have been blown over in such strong winds.
The snow finally began to fall in a massive, overwhelming downpour.
The cold wind rushed into the building through every crack, and the temperature dropped rapidly.
"It seems we'll have to hide here for the night. Luckily we arrived in time, otherwise it would have been troublesome!" Ye Ning said thankfully.
"The indoor temperature is too low, we need to warm up quickly!" Xiao Jingchen frowned as he looked at the indoor thermometer in his hand. The indoor temperature had dropped to minus fifty-five degrees Celsius. And this was indoors; if it were outdoors, it would probably reach minus sixty-five degrees Celsius.
The three of them quickly got to the place where they had rested before. It was a small space with walls on three sides, which seemed to have been used for sample display before.
Long Fei and Xiao Jingchen moved a few more shelves over to cover the blank side and also to cover up the holes and drafts nearby.
Then a spare light source was placed in the corner, and a special area for making a fire and keeping warm was cleared in the middle of the room. A temporary stove was made by surrounding that area with bricks.
Long Fei filled the middle with firewood, then took out a lighter, but because the temperature was too low, even the lighter could not be lit due to the low air pressure. Fortunately, Ye Ning had stockpiled a lot of matches beforehand.
The flames roared as the three men sat around the fire, warming their nearly frozen bodies.
On a cold night, nothing is more suitable than eating spicy food.
In the simple little pot, hot water was bubbling and steaming. Ye Ning took out half a packet of hot pot base and put it in, then added half a packet of milk and diced tomatoes. A simple soup base was ready.
Then add beef rolls, lamb rolls, thinly sliced pork belly, fish cakes, a few eggs, and finally a few flatbreads.

Stimulated by the high heat and chili peppers, his body finally warmed up, and even Xiao Jingchen's eternally fair skin turned blush.
After finishing their meal, the three of them changed into dry coats, as well as new shoes and socks.
In the dark, cold night, a warm, dimly lit corner seemed especially cozy.
Looking at the leaping flames, Long Fei seemed to be moved by the scene and remembered something. He took out a small bottle of tequila from his pocket and leaned against the wall alone, sipping it as if what he held in his hand was not wine, but endless sorrow.
“Brother Longfei, I remember asking you last time how you and Jingchen met, but you didn’t seem to have a chance to answer.”
Long Fei looked dejected. He finished the rest of the tequila in the bottle in one gulp, remained silent for a while, and then spoke, “I was originally a squad leader in a free mercenary group. More than half a year ago, our squad received a mission to transport a document to City A and deliver it to a designated person.”
"After being pursued and intercepted all the way to City A, we finally arrived at the designated location, only to find that the contact person had been killed by a mysterious person. Then we were framed and hunted down."

"Do you know anything about the people who are chasing you?" Ye Ning continued to press.
Long Fei remained silent.
"The people chasing you, could it be the Xinyuan Group?" Ye Ning immediately grasped the crux of the problem.
"How did you know?" Long Fei asked in surprise.
"I guessed!" Ye Ning deliberately put on a mysterious expression.
Brother Longfei, a simple-minded man with strong limbs, naturally couldn't guess how she figured it out.
"Are your brothers who were arrested still alive?"
Long Fei shook his head. "I don't know, but given Xinyuan Group's methods, they're probably gone."
The night grew deeper, and the snow fell heavier and heavier. Even if this snow wasn't necessarily a bad thing, at least the heavy snow could cover up many things, such as the traces of their attack on the warehouse.
