Ye Ning seemed to sleep for a very, very long time, so long that in her dream she seemed to travel through her past and present lives.
When she woke up, it was already dark. Under the soft light of the nightlight, Xiao Jingchen was sitting at the head of her bed. When he saw that she was awake, he took her hand with a look of surprise and delight.
"Ye Ning! You're awake!"
"Jingchen, you're back? When did you get back? I didn't know!" Ye Ning rubbed her eyes, wondering how long she had slept!

Xiao Jingchen rarely speaks such straightforward words of love. Throughout his life, he has always been reserved and silent. Only in front of Ye Ning does he show his true self.
Ye Ning blushed, unsure of what to say.
A strange atmosphere was brewing between the two of them; if Ye Ning had to describe it, she would call it warm and cozy.
Xiao Jingchen sat on the edge of the bed, stretched out his long arm, and pulled Ye Ning into his arms.

"Silly boy! I should be thanking you! For always being by my side and protecting me!" Ye Ning hugged Xiao Jingchen's waist, her cheek pressed tightly against his arm.
"No, we all need to be well! From now on, we'll be a family of three!" Ye Ning thought with deep emotion.
"A family of three!" This phrase suddenly brought back some distant memories for Xiao Jingchen. He unconsciously tightened his grip on Ye Ning's arms. "Yes, a family of three! We'll be together forever!"
"Ye Ning! I love you!"

In the dimly lit room, the two kissed.
After a long while, Ye Ning and Xiao Jingchen finally separated, panting heavily.
"Alright! Stop fooling around, we already have a child!" Ye Ning said, fixing her hair with red eyes.
"Mmm!" Xiao Jingchen touched Ye Ning's belly.
"By the way! Ye Ning, are you hungry? Or should I ask Aunt Wang and the others to bring the food up now?"
"Hmm! I am a little hungry! What time is it now?" Ye Ning only realized now that she seemed a little hungry.
"It's already nine o'clock at night!" Xiao Jingchen raised his hand and looked at his watch.
"What?! It's already nine o'clock?!" She actually slept for over five hours?! "Oh no, I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight!"

Xiao Jingchen made a phone call to Wang Ma and the others.
Soon after, Aunt Wang and Uncle Liu brought up the food.
"Miss! I heard you're pregnant!" Uncle Liu asked, tears streaming down his face.
Uncle Liu has been with the Ye family for over 30 years, taking care of two generations of the Ye family. It can be said that he watched Ye Ning and Xiao Jingchen grow up.
Now that they know the third generation owner is about to be born, they are naturally extremely excited.

After Wang Ma had set out the food, she quickly pulled Uncle Liu downstairs.

"I didn't mean to! I just couldn't help thinking of the late master!" Uncle Liu said, wiping away tears.
Uncle Liu left, and Ye Ning silently went to the restaurant, feeling somewhat down.
"Ye Ning! Come and eat!" Xiao Jingchen affectionately patted Ye Ning's head.
He knew this would be a permanent wound in Ye Ning's heart, but there was nothing he could do to change it.
Because Ye Ning has a poor appetite, most of the dishes that Wang Ma makes are sour and spicy.
After finishing her meal, Ye Ning took a cup of hot tea and sat by the window. The moon had already risen, casting a tranquil, white glow on the ground.
"You're already pregnant? And you still don't know how to take care of yourself!" Xiao Jingchen walked over and draped a blanket over Ye Ning's shoulders.
"Jingchen, do you think the temperature will continue to drop?" Ye Ning asked, looking out at the snowy landscape.
Xiao Jingchen knew that Ye Ning wasn't referring to now, but rather ten years from now.

"Alright! Don't think about it so much! How about we watch a movie together?" Before the apocalypse, Ye Ning downloaded a lot of movies and even bought a projector.
Ye Ning and Xiao Jingchen have saved almost all the movies that were released in theaters, so there's no need to worry about running out of things to watch.
Most importantly, the shelter's electrical system is very well-developed and could probably last for 100 years.
"Alright then! I want to watch a comedy!"
"Okay, okay!" Xiao Jingchen kissed Ye Ning's forehead, his eyes sparkling like a rainbow.
An hour later, Xiao Jingchen looked at Ye Ning, who was already asleep on the sofa, and helplessly pressed the pause button.
"Ye Ning, let's go back to bed! Don't catch a cold!" Xiao Jingchen whispered in Ye Ning's ear.
"Mmm!" Ye Ning mumbled a sleepy reply.
"You little lazy cat!" Xiao Jingchen picked up Ye Ning in a princess carry and walked towards the room.
"Alright! Go to sleep!" Xiao Jingchen carefully covered Ye Ning with the blanket!
Looking at Ye Ning's sleeping face, Xiao Jingchen unknowingly fell asleep as well.
