Chapter 32 Like New Year's Eve

Chapter 32 Like New Year's Eve

The six people spent an entire afternoon processing all the ducks, plucking their feathers, boiling their blood, and cleaning their internal organs to take back.

"We have duck to eat tonight!" Jiang Hao shouted excitedly.

He was very glad that he joined them with Wang Min, otherwise he would have starved to death, let alone eating meat.

"How about we roast two ducks here before going back? We won't have the conditions for that when we get back," Yang Qing suggested.

"Okay!" Everyone agreed, and their mouths were watering at the thought of eating roast duck.

Leng Yi found two branches to skewer the duck, moved the pot away, and put it on the fire to roast.

While grilling and turning the food over, Yang Qing took out the seasonings he had just found, sprinkled salt on it first, and then sprinkled appropriate amounts of pepper and other seasonings.

The duck skin was roasted until it was sizzling and the aroma was so fragrant that everyone was very greedy.

“It smells so good!”

“I want to eat now!”

Yang Qing smiled and said, "When it's roasted, we'll eat one first and take the other back."

"You guys grill it first, I'll walk around and see if there's anything else."

"I'll go with you!" Leng Yi stood up, handed the roast duck in his hand to Gao Yang, and walked towards the chicken farm with Yang Qing.

"There are people living here. They should grow some vegetables or something. Otherwise, why would they go down the mountain to buy vegetables from such a long distance?" Yang Qing analyzed.

Leng Yi nodded, very surprised. She always thought of things that others couldn't think of.

The two came to the back of the kitchen and saw a small vegetable patch. Most of it had been corroded by acid rain, but after the heavy rain in the past few days, some of it had stubbornly grown back.

Yang Qing was overjoyed and collected the remaining dishes with Leng Yi.

"Actually, this place is pretty good. There are mountains, water, and we can grow vegetables. If we had a house, we could settle down here." Yang Qing sighed.

However, it is difficult to deal with the hundreds of dead chickens nearby, and the house cannot be repaired.

There is so much glass in her space but it is difficult to take it out.

I can only give up.

Leng Yi looked at her and said, "It will get better in the future!"

Yang Qing smiled but said nothing. The situation would only get worse.

The two of them returned with a large handful of green vegetables. Yang Qing called out from a distance, "Look what we found?"

"It's vegetables?" Everyone was very surprised. It had been a long time since they had eaten vegetables. Every day they had either dry food or instant noodles, and the corners of their mouths were almost ulcerated.

"Yang Qing is really amazing. You can even find this?" Li Shengnan said with a smile.

"Of course, there's nothing we Qingqing can't do." Lu Lin looked proud.

"Let's wash the vegetables and take them back?" Lu Lin took the vegetables from Yang Qing's hand and took them to the pond to wash.

"The roast duck is ready, you can eat it!" Jiang Hao shouted, looking at the fragrant roast duck, he couldn't help swallowing his saliva.

Everyone gathered around. Leng Yi cut the roast duck with a dagger and handed a duck leg to Yang Qing. She took it without hesitation and said "thank you".

Leng Yi took a piece of duck breast for himself, and the others took a leg and a wing, dividing the whole duck.

"It's so delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I've never eaten roast duck so delicious."

"This is wood-fired, it's not comparable to those electric ovens."

“It smells so good!”

On the way back, everyone was still reminiscing about it.

"Let's have dinner together tonight. Let's cook a duck, and add duck blood and duck offal. We can divide the rest of the duck." Yang Qing said.

"Okay!" Everyone agreed.

"I have a self-heating hot pot, I'd like to give you a box," said Gao Yang.

"I have peanuts." Leng Yi said.

"Then I'll take the rice?" Jiang Hao said.

"No need, I'll pay for the rice." Yang Qing said, "Just take out whatever you have. It doesn't need to be too much. The duck is enough, and we also have vegetables today."

When we went to the building to sweep the floor yesterday, everyone got a lot of snacks, but don’t waste them too much. Save them for later. These ducks are enough for them to have a whole meal.

When Wang Min got home, he came down to open the door. Seeing everyone's excited faces, he knew that he had gained something, and he became happy too.

Yang Qing counted them and found that except for one duck left for dinner, there were still twenty-four ducks, three for each person, and three left. He just cut them in half and gave each person a portion.

There is also duck blood and duck offal, which are divided equally except for those to be cooked tonight.

"But how do we preserve it? It's so hot, it might go bad," Gao Yang asked.

Everyone looked at each other, as if they had not thought about this question just now.

"Um..." Yang Qing coughed, "I have a refrigerator here."

"It's useless to have a refrigerator because there is no electricity!" said Li Shengnan.

Yang Qing smiled and said, "I have a solar generator. It's fully charged and can last for a while."

"What? You even have this kind of thing?" Everyone was shocked.

"I joined a survival group a while ago, and someone said the end of the world was coming, so I started stockpiling supplies. Also, considering the possibility of power outages, I bought a solar generator."

"I originally thought that the money might be wasted, but I didn't expect it to come in handy." Yang Qing smiled and could only play dumb, otherwise it would be unacceptable.

"You're awesome!" Gao Yang gave a thumbs up. When he heard Li Shengnan say that she had stockpiled a lot of things, he thought it was just some food, but he didn't expect that she even had a generator.

"It's just for home use and may not last very long. I hope the rain stops soon so I can move the solar panels to the top floor and have electricity all the time." Yang Qing smiled.

Drag the solar generator and refrigerator out of the room, connect them to a power strip and you can use them.

Then I packed everyone's duck, wrote their names on it and put it in the refrigerator. "When you want to eat, come down and get it. I've written the names on it, so don't take the wrong one."

"Okay!" Everyone nodded.

"By the way, we still have eggs." Lu Lin suddenly remembered that the eggs that were originally packed were all in their respective bags.

Everyone took out their eggs. Yang Qing took a few to cook that night, and divided the rest, packed them according to their names, and placed them in the refrigerator's fresh-keeping layer.

"We have so many things now, but it's best for everyone to be low-key. When cooking, try not to spread the aroma. It's better to be careful about thieves thinking about stealing than to be afraid of thieves stealing."

Everyone agreed and said they would pay attention.

"Let's start cooking!" Lu Lin said with a smile. She is a good cook and she likes cooking.

"I'll help you!" said Wang Min. She stayed at home and couldn't help, so she also hoped to play a role.

"Okay!" Lu Lin nodded, and the two of them got busy.

Everyone went back to their rooms, took out some snacks and put them on the table so they could eat together at dinner later.

When it was cooked, everyone looked and saw that the table was full.

There was a large pot of stewed duck in the middle, two plates of roast duck next to it, a bowl of duck blood, a bowl of duck offal, a bowl of green vegetables, and a bowl of braised eggs, duck intestines and duck gizzards to make a cold dish platter.

There was also spicy hot pot from Gao Yang's self-heating hot pot, Leng Yi's peanuts, Jiang Hao's beef jerky, and Li Shengnan's drinks. Wang Min and Lu Lin didn't need to get anything to cook dinner, and Yang Qing used rice to cook.

"Wow, today is such a feast."

“Better than last time!”

“It feels like Chinese New Year!”

"Let's raise our glasses to celebrate!" Li Shengnan poured drinks for everyone. "I want to especially thank Yang Qing. Without her, we wouldn't be able to live such a good life."

"Let's toast to her!"

Yang Qing smiled, "Thank you for your kindness. As long as we work together, I believe we can live a good life even in the end times!"

"cheers!"

"cheers!"
