131. Chapter 131 Finale

An intelligent female voice sounded from Yuan Shang's headphones.

"No records yet. The base needs this type of monster for experimental research and needs to collect samples of this monster."

"After systematic evaluation, this spider is a parasitic species, with low intelligence and a certain degree of toxicity. It's rated A-level. We recommend at least two B-level or one A-level to capture it."

"Instrument testing indicates that monster pollution levels in the nearby mountains continue to rise, accompanied by unusual phenomena, including unpredictable gray fog outbreaks. The test results have been uploaded to the base's security center. We recommend prioritizing safety and re-adjusting the hunting plan. Request advanced support if necessary."

"Okay, thank you Nuwa."

Yuan Shang turned off his headset, his expression becoming somewhat serious. "It seems the situation is not good this time."

Chen Gui also nodded. "The situation is more complicated than we expected. Should we apply for external assistance now?"

Yuan Shang pondered for a moment and said, "Not for now. I'll fly the drone out and take a look at the nighttime conditions in the mountains."

The plants in the base sent a message to Liang Qing that it was very safe inside. Liang Qing even felt a sense of joy through the plants.

She finally let go of the heavy stone in her heart.

"You guys need to go up the mountain, so let me help you. The plants and I are connected to each other, so they can be useful!"

"Plants are a good way to explore the path."

However, when Yuan Shang noticed that the plants Liang Qing was talking about were actually a group of vegetables that had become spirits, he couldn't suppress the surprise in his eyes.

He just wanted to ask Liang Qing what happened.

"Combat-type vegetables are really rare. Are you a plant control-type esper?"

Liang Qing: "That's right, the plants protected us all the way here."

Chen Gui squatted down, looking at the juicy cabbage covered in snow, and reached out to touch it curiously. "It does have a strong aura of supernatural power, and it's very strong. The only combat-type plant I know of is Major General Gu's vines, and I've never seen a vegetable fight a monster."

Hearing Chen Gui's praise, the plants all began to sway, looking very happy.

Liang Qing touched the little pepper that came over and smiled gently, "That's right, don't underestimate plants, they are also very powerful warriors. So you believe that I can help you, right?"

"certainly."

Yuan Shang smiled, extended a hand and said, "Welcome to the space base, brave superpower warrior!"

However, Chen Gui noticed that Liang Qing's face was obviously abnormally pale.

He frowned slightly, "Are you hurt?"

Liang Qing didn't expect that the other boy was so perceptive.

She pursed her lips and said, "Yes, I was poisoned by a little spider venom, but it's nothing serious. My special ability can help me relieve the poison, so I should be able to hold on for a while."

But Chen Gui shook his head. "We don't know what the spider monster's venom is like. If it leaves any sequelae, it would be terrible."

Yuan Shang also said, "There's still time. It's getting dark now, and it's not safe outside. Let's go back to the base for the night. You can get some rest."

Unexpectedly, both of them were so easy to talk to. Liang Qing's eyes flashed with surprise, and he had a better impression of the space base.

"good."

Led by Yuan Shang, Liang Qing walked into the dark space of the tent.

She found that Chen Gui did not follow her.

Yuan Shang explained to her, "The base transfer point where the tents are set up isn't very stable yet. To prevent the appearance of mutated monsters nearby, someone needs to be on guard. I'll take over Chen Gui's shift later."

Liang Qing nodded.

This is a space that resembles a long corridor, with wall lights every few steps.

The temperature also rose a lot, and the plants absorbed the melted snow water. Liang Qing also took off his down jacket and saw that there seemed to be some light at the end of the corridor.

Yuan Shang introduced her enthusiastically.

"The boss of our base is a space psychic, so we've accepted a lot of survivors and have deep cooperation with the authorities. It can be considered a semi-official base."

"The base uses a points system as currency. As for accommodations, ordinary people will have basic food and lodging, while those with special abilities will have better suites, which are relatively better."

"Your family came in earlier than you just now, and they must have gone to the accommodation area first. I will take you to the special hospital for people with special abilities for an examination."

At the end of the corridor, she saw the busy base staff and the relevant machines being inspected.

Although they looked a little tired, they all had hopeful smiles on their faces and their expressions were very kind.

It wasn't just Liang Qing who was examined.

She also observed that the corridor behind her was actually similar to a spatial passage.

Teams came back from the space channel one after another, and there were also some survivors outside. From their clothes and eyes, you could tell that they were filled with anxiety and curiosity, as well as excitement and joy of entering a safe base.

There were many elderly people and children inside. Even if there were restless troublemakers, they were quickly apprehended by the security guards nearby. Depending on the severity of the incident, they would be penalized with points or even expelled.

Yuan Shang led Liang Qing to the other side and said, "Those with special abilities can use the green channel. Let's save time and go this way."

Then, Liang Qing didn't know how to describe it, she actually came to a modern city.

Even through the glass and the distance, her heart was pounding.

Traffic is shuttling back and forth, trams are shuttling between high-rise buildings, blue lights are flashing, and it feels like we have arrived at a high-tech base.

At this time, a group of people in black combat uniforms walked out from the passage next to them.

When Yuan Shang saw them, his face lit up with joy.

"Boss, why are you back? Is everything going well?"

The woman looked a little tired, but her eyes were sharp. When she saw that it was Yuan Shang, her expression softened.

"Fortunately, despite some unexpected incidents, the U Society's base in Xia Country has been basically destroyed. The leader Meredith was captured, and only a small number of defeated soldiers escaped."

Yuan Shang's face brightened, and he raised his fist and said fiercely, "Excellent! Those inhumane guys deserve a good lesson. They are still messing with us in this apocalyptic time."

Shen Xiaoxiao, who was behind him, laughed at him: "Yuan Shang, stop flattering Sister You. How is your exploration mission going? Where is it going?"

Yuan Shang chuckled and said, "I have already reached Yuanshan and found a group of survivors. I am sending them back now."

He also pulled Liang Qing out from behind him, "I also found a high-level psychic for our base. Her name is Liang Qing, and she can animate plants. However, she was bitten by a mutant spider. I'm worried about the damage to our base's combat personnel, so I'm bringing her back to the hospital first."

Su You glanced at Liang Qing. The girl had a resolute look on her face and seemed capable. He nodded at her.

"I'm Su You, the base commander of the space base, but everyone usually calls me Sister You. Welcome to join us, Liang Qing!"

Liang Qing was excited as he didn't expect the legendary space base to look so approachable.

"Thank you for your dedication and willingness to allow us to join the space base."

Su You smiled and said, "It's nothing. In the apocalypse, we should help each other. After all, talent is the most valuable thing for development!"

Liang Qing nodded in agreement.

Even after Su You left, Liang Qing was still excited.

Yuan Shang said excitedly, "The boss of our base, isn't she cool? She's our base's number one combat force, always dedicated to rescue missions. She's my biggest idol!"

Liang Qing hummed softly, looking at the vibrant city before him, and thought to himself, "I want to join it and become such a brave person!"

Just then, the tram to the hospital arrived.

As soon as the car door opened, Yuan Shang jumped into the car and said, "Let's go to the hospital first!"

Liang Qing also followed.

As the electric train started, the space base gradually unfolded before her eyes and became more and more real.

This is the preserve of human civilization and where humanity's hope lies.

Although the world outside is deteriorating, a seed of hope still remains here.

Even in a world of natural disasters and monsters, the torches still burn and the survivors make their way to the lighthouse.

Hopefully, there will be!

Thanks to all the followers for their support, and Wen Dieer for her tireless recommendation votes (for a young author, it’s really touching~)

Because I had a serious writer's block later on, I stopped updating for more than half a month. Finally, I found some inspiration and decided to give this story an ending.

Although it is not perfect, the protagonist of the story will still lead everyone in the apocalypse to move forward together.

To be honest, due to my writing skills, the story fell apart at the end. I originally wanted to try writing a group portrait, but I still didn't quite grasp it. I really need to reflect on this.

In addition, there are some ideas that have not been written down, which is indeed a pity.

But some of the characters in it, such as Su You, Chen Xiaoxiao, Selina, and Liang Qing, are all brave girls that I like very much, and I am very happy that everyone likes them too!

In the new year, I hope everyone is healthy and prosperous!

If I have the chance, I will continue to write new books for everyone!

See you later!
