Chapter 35 Teleportation Point

Chapter 35 Teleportation Point

Xinfei General Store.

The more Jiang Baiyue searched, the more she regretted that there weren't enough compartments in her backpack, and that she couldn't take many things back with her.

Every time I loot, I struggle with deciding what to discard and what to keep. In the end, all I can do is loot to gain experience points for my talent, and then command mercenaries to kill zombies and earn coins.

Jiang Baiyue put down the large iron pot and was about to go out when she suddenly heard voices outside. She quickly put away the torch, took out a flashlight, and covered the light with her hand.

"That's outrageous! 10 coins for one teleport."

"Sigh... what can we do? Their team has 50 people, and 10 of them are guarding the teleportation point... If we don't give them supplies, we won't be able to find any outside!"

"I'm speechless. I have to kill 10 zombies. I'm working for someone else all day for nothing."

Jiang Baiyue carefully walked to the window and quietly looked outside.

Five people, four men and one woman, all young, dressed in ordinary long-sleeved shirts and trousers, were walking down the street with their backs to Jiang Baiyue.

One of the long-faced men angrily pounded his hand: "If all else fails, let's go fight the boss and go to another quarantine zone."

The woman with short curly hair opened a box on a roadside bench and found an apple inside, which excited her.

Hearing her companion's words, she sighed and replied, "Fighting the boss is easier said than done. Let's assume you defeat the corpse sac... having more people isn't impossible... but the other quarantine zone might not have other bases, and you'd have to spend the night outside in between."

A man with a buzz cut standing next to him said, "If we fight the monsters and go back to Peach Blossom Base to rest, we'll have to pay the accommodation fee again."

"Yes. When we stay out overnight, we need to prepare torches or a campfire, as well as enough antidepressants or a new portable incense player."

"Even if we really clean out the body sacs, those people might immediately seize the exit and take our supplies again."

The woman with short curly hair made another guess, which made the others look uncomfortable.

The five women became increasingly discouraged as they talked. Most of their daily earnings went to the base, and what they kept for themselves was barely enough to eat. They didn't even have a decent weapon.

"Let's wait and see who can't hold on and starts emptying the body sac, then we'll take advantage of it... Hey, give me another sip of that water, I'm so thirsty."

Jiang Baiyue stroked her chin and said that with the support of the base and her talent, she had indeed developed quite well.

I never expected that ordinary players would have to consider so much even when attacking corpse sacs.

Remembering the teleportation point the others had mentioned, she quickly opened the door and went out.

The streets were wide open and the roads led in all directions. Jiang Baiyue had no tailing skills, so she simply followed behind openly.

The five people quickly noticed three more people behind them. They glanced at them warily and subtly quickened their pace to create distance.

The chat area was locked, and they had already spent so much time in this instance. Jiang Baiyue guessed that it was probably 2 or 3 pm now.

She didn't deliberately follow too closely; when they were scavenging supplies, the five of them wouldn't stray too far from her.

Sure enough, Jiang Baiyue saw the teleportation point not long after she walked.

"Why?! Wasn't it agreed that 10 coins would be enough? Why do I have to pay 15 coins?!"

The man with a beard held a large knife and looked fierce: "Why should I? Because you spoke ill of our base commander yesterday. I'm teaching you a lesson so you'll know how to repay kindness."

The bearded man brandished his large knife in the air a few times to intimidate the wolf-tailed woman opposite him.

A long line had formed behind the woman with wolf tail hair, and they looked at the bearded man and his companions with flickering eyes and remained silent.

The woman with wolf tail hair was furious. She raised her finger and pointed at the bearded man, her hand trembling: "You...you've gone too far. You suddenly raised the price and deliberately targeted me."

The bearded man didn't care: "Give me the coins quickly, or you'll block the others from going back."

The group of people next to the bearded man also seemed to be watching the spectacle, though a few of them had some conscience and felt sorry for the woman with the wolf tail.

However, they themselves had to fawn over the base leader, and the bearded man was the base leader's cousin, so naturally they didn't dare to refute him, or even offer any advice.

"Oh dear, young lady, you need to be magnanimous. Survival is the most important thing. Why don't you go to the back of the line and think it over before you speak?"

Upon hearing the bearded man's words, a horse-faced man behind the woman with wolf-tail hair immediately chimed in, trying to get the woman with wolf-tail hair to move aside.

The people behind immediately echoed, trying to get the woman to move aside.

The woman with the wolf tail gritted her teeth, her eyes fixed on the bearded man, her anger blazing inside her.

She only had 15 coins today, and she wanted to upgrade her weapon, so she desperately killed 5 more zombies, in which she was injured in the process.

Unexpectedly, the bearded man demanded an exorbitant price, requiring her to pay 15 coins to use the teleportation point.

She admits to talking badly about people behind their backs!

But these people are too exploitative and heartless. If it really doesn't work... she won't leave this instance. She refuses to believe she can't survive on her own.

Upon careful consideration, she realized that with 15 coins, considering the living costs of the Peach Blossom Base, the 10 coin accommodation fee, and the 15 coin teleportation point fee, it was simply impossible to develop the business.

What's the difference between this and the old days of toiling away like beasts of burden?!

"Yeah, you haven't decided yet, so let us go back first. I'm waiting to go back and start a fire to cook something. I was so hungry yesterday that I didn't get to eat much."

"15? 15 isn't that expensive. We can just kill a few more zombies. Be quick, pay up and leave. If you don't pay up, then leave."

"Our base is already pretty good. I heard some bases charge 15 for entry. Our base even has dungeons for looting..."

Jiang Baiyue listened for a while, then turned around and went back to contact the Sunflower group.

The four people agreed on a time, roughly estimated it themselves, and when the time came, they returned to their original location to exchange information and confirm each other's safety.

Suddenly, a deafening roar came from the distant sky.

The people at the teleportation point suddenly became agitated, and the horse-faced man even pushed the wolf-tailed woman aside and immediately handed over a coin to leave the instance.

"What?! What's going on?!"

"Such a loud noise, it can't be very close to us, can it? Let's get out of here quickly!"

"It must be a terrifying monster! Oh my god, let's go, let's go, let's go!"

Jiang Baiyue also quickened her pace and ran back.

There is a road leading directly from the city gate, but it is quite a distance. Jiang Baiyue sprinted and used teleportation three times in a row to reach the city gate.

Sunflower, Tiantian Xiangxia, and Jiang Yuan had already reunited, all three of them looking worried, clearly having also heard the loud roar.

Sunflower rubbed her forehead: "What's going on! Salty Fish, have you found anything? You should have gone far away."

Tian Tian wailed, clutching his head in his hands: "Please don't let it be the big boss! We had such a hard time fighting just one pustular zombie. If it weren't for Jiang Yuan's bomb, we would be nothing but bones by now."

Jiang Yuan held the harpoon in her hand, her veins bulging from gripping it so tightly.

If she gets attacked by the giant monster again, what will she do if she can't keep up with the others this time? She's already been abandoned by her teammates once.

Jiang Baiyue waved her hand: "Let's go, I found a teleportation point. It costs 10 coins, but I don't know which base it goes to. But it allows us to leave this instance temporarily."
