"Damn it, isn't anyone going to do anything about this? How can they just hit people like that!"
The bald man's cheeks were swollen from Lu Sheng's slaps, with clear red finger marks on his cheekbones.
With the help of his confidants, Qin Zhihua awkwardly straightened up from the dung heap and angrily questioned Meng Botang, "Is this the attitude of the Western Theater Command in making friends? No matter what, we were allies before. Are you just going to let a crazy woman beat people up here?"
"Lu Sheng is a friend of K3 Base, watch your mouth!" Su Zheng said sternly, clearly displeased.
"The Eastern Alliance isn't to be trifled with either. You'd better think carefully about the consequences of how you treated me today!" Qin Zhihua said angrily.
He had barely finished speaking when he heard Lu Sheng sneer from ahead.
Her cold, aloof eyes were filled with a chilling frost, and the gleaming blade was instantly pressed against Qin Zhihua's sweaty neck. "If you had this ability, you wouldn't be being raised like a pig."
After saying that, Lu Sheng gave a wink, and Zhang Xiaojuan's mud-figure squad rushed up and carried Qin Zhihua and several of his men to the very end of the line like pigs.
"You wait! Fortune changes every thirty years! Sooner or later..."
Before Qin Zhihua could finish speaking, Lu Sheng's sharp crossbow bolt pierced his foot.
A piercing, excruciating pain shot through him, and he rolled on the ground clutching his feet in agony.
The next second, a silver crossbow bolt grazed past his ear as a warning.
Qin Zhihua and the others looked up in alarm, only to see Lu Sheng with an icy expression, holding up her slender, white fingers and making a zipping motion to her lips.
Several people suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.
This female demon was clearly threatening them; if they didn't shut up, the next arrow wouldn't be just a warning.
"I..." The bald man opened his mouth subconsciously, and then he was punched twice in the back by the little mudman.
The little clay figure struck with extreme force, nearly smashing his kidneys to pieces with those two punches.
"No objections now, right?" Zhang Xiaojuan rolled her eyes at these jerks, annoyed.
Having witnessed Lu Sheng's decisive and efficient actions, the group dared not utter another word.
The previously noisy queue fell silent, obediently following Su Zheng and Meng Botang's instructions and lining up quietly and orderly.
Having maintained order, Lu Sheng gracefully withdrew and found a quiet corner to sit in.
Looking at the quiet, chicken-like team in the distance, Han Rui gave Lu Sheng a thumbs up, "Sister Lu is really amazing."
"Tch, these troublemakers are just bullies who prey on the weak. They think Su Zheng and Meng Botang are soldiers and won't do anything to them, so they dare to make such a fuss." Zhang Xiaojuan scoffed. "You, a pampered young lady, haven't seen enough of the realities of life."
"Some people are just too servile. You can't reason with them; you have to be forceful to get them to listen. They'll learn slowly."
Meng Botang's Western Theater Command had already deployed personnel nearby, and soon a number of military trucks arrived.
Each military truck is equipped with a healing-type superhuman to maintain the vital signs of the wounded on board, and to provide further treatment upon arrival at the destination.
The evacuation of several thousand people proceeded quietly and orderly, and it took only about an hour to successfully get everyone out of the Eastern Alliance base.
Meng Baitang was quite cautious in his work. Before these thousands of people boarded the bus, their identities and abilities were all recorded by a designated person, and they underwent the corresponding zombie virus tests before being allowed to leave.
In addition to asking about each person's basic information, they were also questioned about any information related to the riots in the Eastern Conference.
The waiting time was too boring, and since everyone was hungry after driving for so long, Lu Sheng and the others found a place in the makeshift hospital to cook mala tang (a type of spicy hot pot). Zhang Xiaojuan even prepared a small bowl full of the rich sesame sauce that is essential for Northeastern mala tang.
The group ate around the big pot, sweating profusely. Their bodies, which had just been drained, were replenished with energy by the hot and flavorful mala tang.
When Meng Baitang and his men rushed back, they saw Lu Sheng and Su Zheng, along with their respective groups, sweating profusely and each holding a small basin of spicy hot pot.
Meng Baitang and others: "..."
It feels like I've traveled a long way to work illegally.
Several young men in the group were already unable to move because of the rich aroma of chili oil and sesame paste. They stared longingly at the remaining half of the ingredients in the pot and secretly nudged Meng Botang in the lower back.
Although food was not particularly scarce in the Western Theater Command, seasonings and cooking oil were in short supply. Usually, they would just boil their food in plain water and that would be their meal. Now, stimulated by the long-lost aroma and deliciousness, their taste buds were salivating wildly.
Meng Botang frowned and glared at them, swallowed hard, and then shared the news with Lu Sheng and the others, "I just asked, and in order to ensure the order of the matchmaking event, all participants in the Eastern Alliance must undergo virus screening and wear a qualified wristband to enter."
Su Zheng, with a bite of beef roll in hand, looked doubtful. "Once infected with the zombie virus, the relevant indicators in the blood will soar. It's impossible for it not to be detected if a virus screening is done."
"The test strip is expired?" Sun Tiantian guessed casually.
"Impossible, the Eastern Alliance's test strips were just purchased from our base, they're freshly made." Pink-haired girl stared intently at the crab sticks and beef balls bubbling in the pot, drooling as she answered.
Su Zheng's expression turned grave. He exchanged a glance with Meng Botang. "Unless... someone deliberately let the half-zombie in..."
If someone is deliberately trying to use half-zombies to undermine the Eastern Alliance from within, then things get interesting.
Lu Sheng glanced at Meng Botang and Su Zheng, then calmly invited the rest of the group to sit down and eat.
