Lu Sheng put down the game console and pondered for a moment.
It's the apocalypse, so of course, people are free to date in the base. She doesn't have the right to interfere with which man Han Rui gets close to; at most, she can remind her not to be deceived.
As night deepened, the two chatted and found themselves wide awake, so they simply put on their pajamas and went downstairs for a late-night snack.
Every day before leaving get off work, Han Mingjun, the head of the household, would prepare a late-night snack and leave it in the kitchen so that Lu Sheng and the others could eat it in the evening.
Today I've prepared a large clay pot of still-warm seafood congee, plus a big plate of door nail meat patties.

Fresh shrimp and crab simmer in the smooth congee, becoming tender and bouncy, and a touch of dried scallop adds a wonderful seasoning, making it incredibly delicious.
Han Mingjun is a native of the capital. His door nail meat pie has a crispy crust and a generous, substantial filling. When you bite into it, your mouth is immediately filled with fragrant, oily broth.
Served with a refreshing side dish, it's incredibly satisfying.
Lu Sheng and Sun Tiantian each served themselves a bowl of porridge and sat in the restaurant, enjoying the delicious meat pies with the meaty aroma.
The enticing aroma was especially strong in the villa after the temperature dropped at night, and soon the few remaining hungry creatures came running after smelling it.
Han Rui, in particular, didn't stop eating from the moment she sat down, and even after eating three meat pies, she still wasn't satisfied.
Zhang Xiaojuan sat next to her and tapped the table with a grin, "Eating so much tonight? Be careful you don't get fat and never get married."
"I'm not going to eat your food even if I can't get married!" Han Rui glared at Zhang Xiaojuan unhappily, then turned around and picked up another meat pie, feeling embarrassed. "This is the last one. I really need to go on a diet after this! I want to lose ten pounds within a month!"
"This is the 10th time you've said you want to lose weight this month. Not only have you not lost a single pound, but your face is even fuller than before." Zhang Xiaojuan casually raised her hand and pinched Han Rui's plump cheek.
Lu Sheng didn't have time to judge the right and wrong of these two bickering lovers who couldn't even put their minds together ten times. She picked up a meat pie and put it in Han Rui's bowl, which finally shut her up.
"Why are you suddenly in such a hurry to lose weight? Do you have a little secret?" Fang Rongrong teased Han Rui, her beautiful eyes blazing with gossip. "Are you in a relationship?"
"Which young man is so lucky to have caught Han Rui's eye?"
However, Han Rui, who is usually carefree, suddenly became unusually coy today.
"Teacher Fang, please don't joke with me." After saying that, she even tried to run away with the meat pie in her mouth.
Zhang Xiaojuan stretched and got up to walk to the French windows. "Who's so unlucky to have her eye on them?"
As he spoke, he casually pulled back the curtains, only to find a pair of large, expectant eyes glued to the glass, which startled Zhang Xiaojuan so much that she jumped back a large step.
Shi Nian clung to the French windows like a plaster, her large, watery red eyes fixed on the seafood porridge and meat patties still steaming on the table.
Waaah, the congee base is a light shrimp oil red, and the meat patty looks crispy and oily. She can't even imagine how delicious it would be when they're combined!
But Sister Lu said she couldn't just enter the villa, so she had to restrain herself and not show too much craving.
Half-zombies have an exceptionally developed sense of smell and taste. Even through several thick walls, the enticing aroma of meat patties and seafood porridge still wafted precisely into Shi Nian's nose, making it impossible for her to sleep.
She couldn't resist the tempting aroma, so she followed the scent all the way to the villa, but didn't dare to go inside. She could only pitifully watch the people inside eating from the French windows.
Lu Sheng looked at the slender little figure outside the window, and the corners of his mouth drooped helplessly.
The child's nose was pressed flat against the glass; just how much did he want to eat it?
Looking at that innocent and harmless little face, Lu Sheng finally waved to Shi Nian and signaled her to come in.
"Really? Can I come in?" Shi Nian's eyes widened with excitement, and she checked several times before cautiously entering the room.
In front of others, Shi Nian was a little reserved. She obediently scooped up some porridge in a small bowl, then picked up two meat pies and hid in a corner of the kitchen to nibble on them.
"Why are you hiding in the kitchen? Come to the table and eat, there's plenty more."
Han Rui is a very outgoing person and has no resistance to cute things. When she saw Shi Nian huddled in the kitchen, her heart melted, and she immediately pulled Shi Nian to the dining table.
A few people were chatting casually when suddenly the radio on the living room table started crackling with static.
"Calling all survivors! Calling all survivors!"
A few seconds later, intermittent sound came from the radio.
Everyone instinctively stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to the radio on the table.
"The government has successfully developed a vaccine against the zombie virus, and preliminary trials have been completed. All survivors are requested to proceed to Imperial University as soon as possible after hearing this announcement."
"The first batch of vaccines is limited and will be administered according to the registration order and assessment results. All survivors are urged to act quickly."
"The government base has ample resources, so survivors do not need to worry about supplies. Please set off for Imperial University as soon as possible."
After repeating itself intermittently several times, the radio station finally stopped.
The people in the room looked at each other, their faces all showing shock.
Zhang Xiaojuan pinched Han Rui's arm, which immediately made Han Rui scream and start punching wildly.
His neck was red from being punched, and he jumped up from his chair excitedly, "Holy crap! Awesome! Finally, there's a vaccine!"
"A vaccine so soon? Vaccine development requires a lot of manpower and resources. During the global flu pandemic, it took several months for the whole country to see initial results. But the radio said that the zombie virus vaccine has already completed preliminary trials?" Fang Rongrong wasn't so optimistic; her tone was rather skeptical.
