The bedroom still features a bunk bed with a desk underneath, and celebrity stickers from the previous student can still be found in the corner of the wall. Besides the bed and wardrobe, there's no other furniture in the room, making it feel somewhat empty.
Back in their familiar surroundings, Sun Tiantian and Xiao Yu quickly relaxed and collapsed onto the living room sofa.
The living room lights were dim, and there were no curtains on the windows, offering a clear view of the inky black nightscape outside.
Han Rui curiously leaned out the window and peered out. "The number of people queuing outside is only increasing, but the speed of letting people through is so slow. It's been so long and only a few people have been allowed to pass."
“We were only able to get in because of Niannian’s good looks; otherwise, we’d be out here feeding the mosquitoes right now.” Zhang Xiaojuan glanced at the long line outside, took a lollipop out of her pocket and gave it to Shi Nian, “Niannian, be good, here’s something yummy for you.”
Shi Nian took the lollipop and looked at Lu Sheng with anticipation.
"Eat up." Lu Sheng couldn't help but chuckle and nodded in acknowledgment.
Although Shi Nian posed a certain potential danger, she had been very obedient since she started following Lu Sheng. Lu Sheng had told her not to eat random things, so she always got Lu Sheng's permission before eating anything.
"I'm exhausted. I need to take off my clothes and take a shower first." Sun Tiantian has flat feet, and her feet couldn't take it anymore after standing for more than two hours. She stretched and prepared to go into the bedroom to change her clothes.
She had just stood up when Xu Yi stopped her.
"Let's clean up first before taking a shower." Xu Yi's tall figure blocked Sun Tiantian's way, and he gestured to Lu Sheng out of the corner of his eye.
Lu Sheng raised an eyebrow slightly and, following Xu Yi's hint, subtly scanned the room, discovering that there was indeed a hidden secret in the dormitory.
Several hidden cameras were concealed in all large spaces, including the bathroom, living room, and bedroom!
However, these cameras are installed very carefully, such as behind light bulbs, behind mirrors, or in hidden compartments in cabinets. They are virtually undetectable unless one is highly vigilant.
Once inside this dormitory, every move you make is recorded by these spying cameras. This isn't a dormitory; it's a concentration camp! Those who live here are like meat on a chopping board, with absolutely no privacy or secrets!
Lu Sheng's suspicions about this so-called government base deepened.
Such despicable tactics are absolutely unacceptable for government departments.
"Niannian, come help with the cleaning." Lu Sheng called Shi Nian over, who was engrossed in licking a lollipop, and whispered the gesture to her at a distance that only the two of them could hear.
Shi Nian smiled sweetly and, with a flick of her finger, used her powerful psychic abilities to eliminate all the hidden cameras in the room.
Only after all potential risks in the room were resolved did Lu Sheng release Rocket and Zhuangzhuang from the space.
After being cooped up in the space for more than ten hours, these two idiots were so dejected that they looked like complete idiots. Their long fur was all messy and tangled up. The first thing they did when they came out was to lie down on the ground and roll around.
Although the space is large, it's a bit boring with only one cat and one dog. They still prefer to be with their human.
The group tidied up the two bedrooms, changed the bedding to comfortable ones, and were just about to get some rest when there was a rapid knocking at the door.
"208! Open the door now! You have half an hour to get to the base registration desk and enter your information!"
The person knocking on the door was a middle-aged woman in her thirties, wearing an extravagant light pink suit, with an impatient and angry look on her face. "That old bastard Li Zhiqiang, he can't resist women, and he brings in all sorts of random people every day, always causing me trouble."
The people in the room exchanged glances. Finally, Zhang Xiaojuan, the friend of the middle-aged woman, went to open the door. "Sister, Brother Li already registered us when we came in. Do we need to register again?"
“He took you through the initial registration. If you want to stay in the base, you’ll need to register for citizenship separately! Hurry up, or I’ll have to come and urge you a second time!” The woman poked Zhang Xiaojuan’s shoulder fiercely with her finger. “If you don’t register for citizenship within 24 hours of entering the restricted area, you’ll be expelled. You can decide for yourselves.”
After saying that, the woman tossed her hair, swayed her hips dramatically, and left.
In order to complete the formalities as quickly as possible, the group immediately locked the dormitory door and set off.
Many new people arrived at the base today, and Lu Sheng and her group quickly found the place to register for citizenship by following the flow of people.
Although I had already taken a test card before joining, additional tests were required for citizenship. My technological talent at the deep space base was maxed out, and the testing equipment at the registration office could roughly determine my ability type with a simple scan.
All those registering for citizenship must provide not only basic data such as height, weight, and age, but also information on any underlying medical conditions and drug allergies. Add to that a special ability test, and the entire background of someone applying for citizenship is practically exposed.
Although the process was tedious and time-consuming, no one in the team complained. They chatted and laughed, and even began to look forward to the happy life after getting vaccinated.
After all, as long as they enter the base, they have a chance to obtain the zombie virus vaccine. As long as they have this promise, they are willing to do anything.
But soon, reality dealt these optimists a heavy blow.
"Everyone who passes the test, please line up at the window on the right to pay the deposit and then you can proceed with your citizenship registration," the woman in pink shouted into the long queue through a megaphone.
Her words immediately caused a commotion in the group.
"What deposit? The announcement didn't mention any deposit!" someone immediately retorted. "You're being dishonest! The announcement sounds good, but the reality is that you've tricked people into coming here!"
