Qiao Xuejun walked out of the first base with an empty backpack.
"Are you sure that there is no risk of a second collapse of that mountain?"
System: "Yes. At least there will be no collapse before the next heavy rain."
System: "Host, do you want to go and see that new plant?"
Qiao Xuejun: "Of course. I have nothing to do anyway. I have already left home so I will go and take a look. There is no time to lose."
After finishing her work at home, she would take some time to walk around and have a look. She had already identified several areas where plants would grow based on the movement tracks of the mutant creatures, but those areas were already inhabited by mutant creatures.
She had originally planned to wait for Zhao Xian to send someone to go with her, but Zhao Xian was busy and there was nothing she could do. There were too few people to spare.
System: "Host, are you cold?"
When Qiao Xuejun came out of the tailor's studio, Sister Li gave her a pair of fluffy white earmuffs that just covered her ears. It was made of sponge and cotton from some seat.
Qiao Xuejun put on the hood of her down jacket and tied the straps at the collar to block the wind from coming in.
Jianding Mountain and Hongmei Mountain also face each other. Because of the spread of the flood, a river formed in the middle, which has now turned into a glacier.
Qiao Xuejun walked to the riverside and saw a particularly large ice hole on the ice. It should have been dug there when Zhao Xian and his team crossed the river to observe the thickness of the ice.
There were traces of their footsteps left along the way on the ice nearby.
Qiao Xuejun took a look and found that the ice layer was almost more than 30 centimeters thick.
It had been cold for too long, there were ice chips in the river and thin ice blocks on the surface. After last night, it was completely frozen.
The ice thickness standard of many ice rinks is 15 cm, and you can skate when it reaches 15 cm. 30 cm is still relatively safe, and you don't have to worry about ice cracking.
After observation, Qiao Xuejun stepped onto the ice with her feet wearing crampons.
squeak--
The sharp blades of the crampons made a sharp and harsh friction sound as they passed over the ice.
Qiao Xuejun held the baton steadily. She had just picked up a piece of cut seat cloth from the tailor studio and put it on the bottom of the baton so that it would not be slippery when it came into contact with the ice.
I didn't see any mutant creatures today. I guess they all shrank up from the cold.
After all, the lowest temperature in the deep sea is around 0 degrees. It can be below zero but not too much lower. Even lower, the high-salt environment will freeze.
They are not used to this extremely low temperature climate. The normal temperature in the previous few months was around -10 degrees Celsius, and the fact that they can come out and move around is a high degree of mutation.
It will probably take some time to get used to the current low level.
Ten minutes later, Qiao Xuejun came ashore.
There was a vast expanse of white snow under her feet. Compared to the snow on Hongmei Mountain and Qingli Mountain, the snow here was looser and softer, probably because the snow here was scattered when the landslide occurred and had not yet had time to solidify.
The northern slope of Jianding Mountain, close to the water.
Qiao Xuejun: "Is Shen Xingtang's location nearby?"
This was the location where the seventh base was buried as provided by the system, but the Sharp Peak was very large and the north slope was also very wide, so the rescue team was not in the area where she logged in.
System: "Yes, I can detect that the rescue team is very close to that location."
Qiao Xuejun nodded and looked up: "I know the cave they are talking about. I will go over there and take a look."
It was said that the cave was blocked by rocks, so she had to go and see what was going on. If the rocks were not big, she could move them herself.
Now Zhao Xian and his team are busy with rescue work, so it’s not a good idea to disturb them.
Thinking about this, Qiao Xuejun headed in the direction that Ren Wangwang had mentioned before. That was the shady side of the mountain, where there was usually no light even at dawn.
So no one lives there, and the patrol teams can't patrol there.
Qiao Xuejun had not left the patrol team to check, so he had never found it.
There were footprints left in the snow on the mountain road by the First Base, but they all went towards the place where people lived on the mountain.
Qiao Xuejun took another path.
This is the north slope of the mountain. It is darker and there is almost no light, but the white snow can still reflect a little light. Qiao Xuejun took out a flashlight and shone it outside.
Because of the thick snow, the terrain looked a little different from before, and it was difficult to tell where was where at first glance.
She looked around carefully for a while before she found some familiarity in the distribution of the woods. After determining the direction, she leaned on the stick and explored.
The cave was located halfway down the mountain, almost close to the sea, and no one lived in such a place.
It was all covered with snow and the exact entrance to the cave could not be found. The location used to be quite clear at a glance, but now it was completely white.
Qiao Xuejun held the stick and probed on the left and then on the right.
The system advised: "Host, why don't you wait until the snow melts before coming back."
Qiao Xuejun frowned: "Let me take another look."
Finding the plant is of great significance. We have put in so much effort, but we haven't even found the entrance to the cave. How can we just go back like this? It would be a wasted trip.
Qiao Xuejun felt unwilling to give up and continued searching nearby.
Anyway, it's this location, it's about the same.
Finally, Qiao Xuejun used a stick to knock everywhere and cleared the snow from some protruding places.
After sweeping away the snow from a snow pile with his arm, something underneath was revealed: a black and gray stone corner.
Her brows relaxed, and she quickly used the stick and her sleeves to sweep down all the thick snow. As Qiao Xuejun's sleeves became wet, the full appearance of the stone was revealed. It was half a person's height, and next to it were several knee-high stones piled up, all blocked together.
