Chapter 47: Snitch

The areas where mad cow disease is concentrated are not at the gate, but under the wall.

Qiao Xuejun and the others all carried mugwort with them, so they were not too afraid. In fact, after this period of time, they already knew that mad cow disease was not as scary as zombies. They could even be said to be very fragile and had low defense.

A single blow from a club can make them lose their balance, and they will never be able to stand up again after falling down, but as long as they are not bitten, it will be fine. However, this creature that looks like a human but has actually lost human consciousness will still make people instinctively want to stay away.

When the community was in charge, once mad cow disease was found anywhere, the police would call the police and the assigned staff would quickly catch and take away the people. But now the community is no longer functioning, and mad cow disease is starting to increase again.

You can't hear it normally in the shelter, but once you return to the ground, you can always hear the occasional howling.

After avoiding the mad cow disease under the wall, Qiao Xuejun and the other two quickly returned to the house. After they all entered the door, the mad cow disease finally reacted and gathered around the iron door, banging on it.

Fortunately, the iron gate has been reinforced.

Qiao Xuejun and other three began to clean the yard. There were a lot of bloodstains on the outer walls and in between the bamboo carpets, and it took them a long time to clean.

As the bloodstains disappeared, the howling outside gradually became less frequent.

Qiao Xuejun then confirmed that these mad cows were most likely attracted by the blood. The attraction of blood to them might even exceed the suppression of mugwort.

After cleaning up, the four of them were very tired and all returned to the underground shelter.

Everyone just wanted to rest. Qiao Xuejun wanted to go back to her room to sleep immediately, but Wang Juanfeng stopped her.

Wang Juanfeng grabbed Qiao Xuejun's arm, frowned, and looked at her right wrist: "Let me see your hand."

Qiao Xuejun was slightly stunned and stretched out his right hand.

The gauze wrapped around her right wrist was stained with blood again, and Qiao Xuejun herself didn't know whether it was someone else's blood or her own.

Her nerves had been so tense that she only now belatedly noticed the pain in her wrist. She must have been overexerting herself from pulling the bow, using the chainsaw, digging the pit, and carrying the bodies.

Wang Juanfeng had specially cleaned up an empty bedroom, cleaned it, sprayed it with disinfectant, and used it as a medical room.

She pulled Qiao Xuejun into the medical room, asked her to sit down, took out tweezers and scissors, removed the gauze, and looked at the wound inside.

There was blood oozing out and the wound wasn't as tight as it had been when it was just sutured.

Wang Juanfeng frowned: "It is broken indeed."

She sighed, "It has to be sewn again."

Qiao Xuejun shuddered a little. It sounded very troublesome to sew it again. "Can't you just make do with it?"

Wang Juanfeng was so angry that she laughed: "If the infection is serious, he will have to have his limb amputated! How can we put up with it!"

"Stop talking nonsense and be honest. I stitched up Kuang Shen's wound before, and he was very honest."

Qiao Xuejun had no choice but to accept it honestly.

To prevent infection, Wang Juanfeng cleaned the wound again, gave her anesthesia, and carefully re-sutured it.

After the suturing, Qiao Xuejun also felt her wrist was much more relaxed.

Wang Juanfeng still looked at Qiao Xuejun's wrist anxiously: "No matter who comes this time, you are not allowed to go out. Take good care of it, otherwise it will definitely become a big scar in the future, and it will not look good."

And it’s at the wrist.

After stitching the wound, Wang Juanfeng was finally able to rest. He was also very tired and wanted to go back to his room.

Qiao Xuejun called her.

She hesitated for a moment and said, "Doctor Wang, please communicate with Kuang Qianli again."

Kuang Qianli's performance today was very abnormal. The arrow shot through someone's throat was a big blow to him. I can understand, but this state is not suitable for surviving in the doomsday, and I need to adjust as soon as possible.

Qiao Xuejun had only killed chickens before, so she was shocked by what happened today, but she knew there was nothing she could do about it, and it was also her own choice.

She has done everything, and she won't waste her time on internal things.

Wang Juanfeng's face began to worry again: "I know."

Qiao Xuejun thought for a moment and said, "At least, we are accomplices."

Except for the youngest carpenter, everyone was determined to kill him. No one was immune to the consequences. Everyone was the same and had to share the consequences together.

Wang Juanfeng nodded: "Yes."

·

Qiao Xuejun was obedient and took good care of her hand for a period of time. After a week, there were signs of healing.

Wang Juanfeng was also very concerned and checked her and changed her dressings on time.

Satisfied with her cooperation: "Not bad, the stitches can be removed in a week."

Qiao Xuejun did almost no physical work this week, and Wang Juanfeng almost wanted to feed her.

At the beginning, Kuang Qianli was completely unable to adjust to his current state. He didn't leave the house for two consecutive days and refused to eat or drink. On the third day, Wang Juanfeng entered his house and said something to him, but he changed all of a sudden.

No longer so depressed, after a few days, the expression on his face began to gradually relax, and he continued to study with the carpenter how to improve their water pump.

He even took the initiative to bring up what happened that night: "We should build some more deterrent devices so that outsiders can be scared away as soon as they come in!"

So he and the carpenter began to study the mechanism again, and even wanted to make a crossbow, so that everyone could have one.

·

Ten days later, the potatoes gradually sprouted. Qiao Xuejun led three people to the fields to poke holes one by one, allowing the potato sprouts to emerge.

"If it's too hot, the seedlings will burn," she explained.

The three people followed her and started poking holes in one plot of land each. While they were poking holes, Kuang Qianli asked, "Is this mulch disposable? Why are there so many holes in it? It can't be used next time. Do we have to go to town to get it?"
