This should have been done a long time ago, but I never got around to it because I was too busy.
Now that we have returned from the underground shelter, the well is gone and water source has become a problem. Now that we are in the mountains, it is impossible to draw groundwater.
The nearest water source is the river behind Bald Mountain, where the rebels were stationed before, and the townspeople also went there to fetch water for daily use.
It's raining so hard now, we can dig a reservoir for daily use, but if it's acid rain, we may have to consider the water behind Bald Mountain for drinking water. Qiao Xuejun went to see it before the rebels came. The river flows out of a cave, and the upper reaches are protected in the cave, so it is unlikely to be polluted.
However, if the concentration of acid rain is not high, it can actually be treated and used.
For example, baking soda.
When they robbed houses, they picked up a lot of things that no one else had any use for, and several families had baking soda in their kitchens.
But it's not much, and it can't purify much acid rain water.
I just hope this rain is not acid rain, but after smelling the sulfur in the rain, Qiao Xuejun doesn't hold much hope anymore.
Qiao Xuejun looked at the clock in the living room. This one was also picked up and had batteries installed.
She had stockpiled two boxes of batteries, both 7 and 5, in order to make it easier to replace batteries for flashlights and radios, and batteries were relatively inexpensive.
Qiao Xuejun supported her chin and looked at the nails in the bowl. Gradually, her eyes began to lose focus and she became sleepy. Finally, she fell asleep on the table.
She was not woken up until early the next morning.
"Qiao Qiao, wake up."
Qiao Xuejun frowned vaguely: "It's so noisy."
"Qiao Qiao, why did you fall asleep here? You are cold. Go back to the house and don't catch a cold."
The sound gradually became clearer, and Qiao Xuejun slowly opened her eyes.
Wang Juanfeng looked at her with concern, and reached out to touch her forehead with the back of his hand: "Are you cold? You are cold all over."
Only then did Qiao Xuejun feel the warmth against her forehead and she couldn't help but shiver, as if she was a little cold.
Wang Juanfeng: "Why did you fall asleep here?"
Qiao Xuejun rubbed his eyes and said, "There was too much noise outside yesterday, so I came out to take a look. Did you hear anything? There was a bomb blast at Hongmei Mountain ahead."
Wang Juanfeng shook his head: "It seemed like there was a vague sound, but I didn't hear it clearly."
She sighed, "I'm so sleepy. We've been moving these past few days and everyone is so tired that I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow."
Seeing Qiao Xuejun rubbing her eyes, she took her hand and looked at it: "Have these blood blisters burst again?"
They have been moving house and lifting heavy objects non-stop during this period, without any rest, and their hands are covered with blisters, right at the knuckles and base of the thumb, like plump red beans.
"Fortunately, it's not infected," Wang Juanfeng said with a little relief after observing it, and put Qiao Xuejun's hand down again. "Wait, I'll get some medicine to deal with it."
After a while, Wang Juanfeng took out the tray containing medicine and tweezers from the medical room, on which there was also gauze and alcohol.
She put the tray on the table, touched herself with hand disinfectant, disinfected a needle with alcohol, and held Qiao Xuejun's hand: "Empty it first."
Qiao Xuejun stretched out her hands obediently and let Wang Juanfeng handle it.
The blood blister is only half broken, and the remaining dirty blood inside still needs to be dealt with.
Wang Juanfeng handled it very seriously. She used a needle to puncture the large blood bubble, drained it, applied ointment, covered it with gauze, and tied it up with medical tape: "It's done."
She put the things back on the tray and said to Qiao Xuejun, "You didn't get enough rest last night, go back and get some more sleep.
Qiao Xuejun took a look and saw that the gauze was bandaged in two places, both of which were very delicate and careful: "Thank you, Doctor Wang."
"Let me help you deal with it." Qiao Xuejun said.
Wang Juanfeng showed Qiao Xuejun his hand: "No need, I already took care of it yesterday."
At this moment, in the bedroom, Kuang Qianli and the carpenter were also awake. They walked out of the bedroom and came towards this side.
Kuang Qianli came over, stretching lazily, and asked lazily, "You two got up early enough. What are you doing?"
The young carpenter also yawned and greeted, "Good morning, Boss, good morning, Doctor Wang, and God Kuang."
"Good morning." Wang Juanfeng replied, and then asked, "By the way, what are you doing? Soaking two nails?" She pointed to the bowl of water on the table.
Qiao Xuejun immediately remembered the important matter and looked down at the two water bowls.
I saw that the nails in one bowl had reddish-brown spots, while the nails in the other bowl were still clean.
Qiao Xuejun's face looked a little unhappy. She pointed at the bowl with the changed color nails and said, "This is the rain outside. It looks like acid rain."
Kuang Qianli was not surprised at all: "Isn't this something we expected a long time ago?"
Before, they heard on the radio that there was a volcanic eruption, so they knew that there would be heavy rain afterwards. The rain combined with the toxic gases emitted by the volcanic eruption in the air could easily turn into acid rain.
So they had to move in the heavy rain during the past few days, but they did not take it lightly and were wrapped up tightly.
Qiao Xuejun looked at the nail.
It's one thing to guess, but it's another to have the facts before your eyes.
Kuang Qianli: "Start planting crops today?"
They tilled the land yesterday and can start sowing today.
Qiao Xuejun shook her head: "I can't find a clean water source right now. Even watering is a problem. I won't plant it for now."
