Chapter 23: Eating in the Canteen
When they reached the self-service area, Jun Mo held up the food tray and asked Qiao Bai, "What do you want to eat?"
Qiao Bai glared at him and whispered, "I want to eat your brain!"
Jun Mo put a dish of delicious pig brains on the plate.
"Be good, I'll give it to you when I'm almost dead, but not now. I have to keep my brain so I can live and feed you."
These words sounded like a joke, but also like a statement. Qiao Bai stared at Jun Mo's forehead and swallowed.
It's not because of greed, it's because of fear.
After all, he is a good zombie who has never eaten humans.
Qiao Bai didn't say anything. Jun Mo immediately came over and said with a smile, "Are you scared?"
Qiao Bai didn't respond. He pointed at the dishes in front of him with an evasive look and started ordering: "I also want passion fruit and lemon chicken feet, crystal jelly, coconut chicken, Jingshi roast duck, grilled lamb chops, and braised beef!"
Jun Mo didn't pick up the food immediately.
Qiao Bai glared at the air in front of him: "Hurry up, give it to me!"
The uncle in the cafeteria opposite looked at Jun Mo with an expression as if he was watching a show.
Jun Mo sighed, put the pig brain flower back to its place, and said to the uncle opposite: "Give him a little of the same, not too much, just enough to taste it."
The uncle in the cafeteria quickly took out an extra-large serving plate and filled it with all the dishes bit by bit.
"Boss, is this your wife? She's so pretty~" the uncle said gossipingly with a smile, "I've never seen you so embarrassed before."
"You finally got to see it today," Jun Mo took back the oversized portioned meal tray and shook his head helplessly.
"I'm not his wife, he's just my breeder!" Qiao Bai explained seriously to the uncle in the cafeteria.
The uncle in the cafeteria nodded and said meaningfully, "I understand, I understand. Being young is good. Does the boss feed you well every day?"
Qiao Bai didn't hear the hidden meaning in his words, and righteously accused him, "No, he starved me for a whole day yesterday!"
"It's just one day. Let him feed you more tonight," the cafeteria uncle's tone gradually became ambiguous.
Why tonight? Can't eat too much now?
Qiao Bai felt that this uncle seemed a little abnormal.
Why did he make it seem like he was messing with our meal?
"Go eat," Jun Mo gave the cafeteria uncle a warning look, turned around, and took Qiao Bai to sit in a corner by the window.
The uncle in the cafeteria was frightened by the murderous look and immediately shut up.
"Old Zhang, you are so capable that you even dare to tease the boss," another uncle next to him came over and secretly gave Old Zhang a thumbs up.
Lao Zhang rubbed his chin, still not understanding where he had gone wrong. "Is there something wrong with what I said? Is there anything wrong with what I said? Men, after all, are animals with lower bodies, aren't they?"
The uncle next to him looked at Lao Zhang sympathetically and decided not to discuss the boss's private life with him.
Afraid of being implicated.
Qiao Baicai took two bites, then suddenly bit her chopsticks and glared at Jun Mo.
Jun Mo didn't pick up his chopsticks and just kept watching Qiao Bai eat. Seeing this, he laughed teasingly.
"Have you figured it out?"
Qiao Bai's face immediately turned red - he was angry.
"You knew clearly that the uncle was making up a rumor about you, so how could you still laugh?" Qiao Bai lowered his voice, his tone was flat and full of anger.
Jun Mo raised his eyebrows and replied nonchalantly: "Little Qiao Baibai, do I look like a good person?"
Qiao Bai: “…” They did look alike before, but now they don’t seem so similar.
"I have always lived on the edge of a knife, before the apocalypse, and even more so after. Although I don't kill innocent people indiscriminately, I have lost count of the number of people who have died in my hands," Jun Mo said in a deep voice, his eyes far-reaching. "You are a kind person. Even when you encounter suffering in the world, you only close your eyes and blame yourself for your bad luck. When you were imprisoned, you only wanted to save yourself, but never thought of revenge."
"I am a born villain. I will avenge my enemies and repay my grievances. As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. These brothers of mine certainly aren't all pure and good people. As long as they don't break my rules, I'll let them be."
"You are such a good brother," Qiao Bai slowed down his eating and finally mustered up the courage to look carefully at the people around him.
Jun Mo explained in a low voice on the side.
"That's Xiaoyu, an orphan, an ordinary person. He was almost fed to zombies by his stepmother, but I saved him."
"That's Liu De, an ordinary man. He was a relatively successful businessman before the apocalypse. After the apocalypse, his wife ran away with someone else. Food was scarce, and his son wanted to kill him and trade his flesh for others. I gave him ten packets of instant noodles in exchange for him."
"That's Li Yue, a wood-type mutant. She awakened her powers late and was abandoned by her husband, who awakened his powers first. When I saw her, she was holding her one-month-old son and digging dirt in the cellar to eat."
"That's Chen Qin, a fire-type mutant. He was wrongly accused before the apocalypse and sent to a labor camp. I rescued him, and he later came to me with a group of his fellow sufferers."
"That is..."
“…”
“…”
Qiao Bai listened silently and finished all the food unknowingly.
I feel a little full.
Qiao Bai burped and put down his chopsticks.
"Amo, what about you?"
