Chapter 180 Lost

His arrogance left Feng Bai speechless. He was shocked that Lu Zhi, who looked so respectable, was actually a mutant. What shocked him even more was that Sui Cheng was with a mutant.

If his chariot hadn't been right next to him, he would have suspected that Lu Zhi was hiding his identity.

But to openly declare oneself a different species like this shows an extraordinary level of confidence.

Seeing that the attendant was about to leave the alien creature alive, Lu Zhi quickly said, "It's no longer of any use."

Lanya lost her life because of the alien species that she understood without hesitation.

He glanced at the gate of the Sixth District and had a strong premonition that what he had been told by his spirit was about to happen.

Those explosions seemed to be a signal.

Sui Cheng walked over to Lu Zhi's side and calmly asked, "Is there anything different outside the base?"

Lu Zhi tugged at his collar, looking uncomfortable, and said, "Yes, there is a group of people approaching."

"Alright, Brother Bai, get the defenses ready immediately," the attendant reminded Feng Bai in a deep voice.

He looked around the base. The explosion had been brought under control, and the panicked crowd was being escorted to safety. Feng Bai sounded the alarm, and the superpowered team guarded the city gate, protecting the area inside and out.

"Whoa!" A loud whistle came from outside. Sharp metal pillars emerged from the ground outside the base, blocking all the roads. The metal pillars were hollow, and the whistle echoed between them, forming a powerful sound wave that came towards the base.

Lu Zhi frowned, then immediately condensed a mental barrier in front of him. The sound wave reached the barrier and shattered it.

He said in a deep voice, "This is specifically designed to suppress mental power."

Sui Cheng said in a deep voice, "It seems they're coming on strong."

He clenched his fist, and thunder roared, lightning flashing between the metal pillars, shattering the sound waves.

"You're the passenger, right?" Several figures appeared on the pillar. There were seven people in total, all wearing black leather jackets and gas masks, so their faces were not visible.

"Yes." Lu Zhi put his arm around the shoulder of the attendant and answered for him.

"So you're that mutant?" The leader turned his gaze to Lu Zhi again, with a hint of wariness.

"It seems you're not entirely ignorant," the attendant said coldly. "What are your purposes?"

"I would like to ask you to come with me."

"That's it? Are you even worthy?" Lu Zhi sneered, green vines climbing up his wrist, his aura surging out without any attempt to conceal it, exuding an overwhelming sense of oppression.

The plunderers were somewhat afraid of his strength, but then they remembered the outcome predicted by their prophet, and their fear subsided a bit. They said with a fierce expression, "Then don't blame us for being impolite."

A cold glint flashed in Sui Cheng's eyes. These people simply didn't take the base seriously. He glanced at Feng Bai and nodded at him.

Feng Bai made a gesture to reassure him.

As the seven people charged toward them, the base's superhumans, who were hiding in the shadows, fired several bullets into the sky.

The bullets didn't go directly at the looters; instead, they connected in the sky, forming a giant net that enveloped the seven people, causing their energy to momentarily stagnate as the bullets descended.

Sui Cheng seized the opportunity, teleported in front of them in an instant, and knocked them to the ground with a punch and a kick.

The law enforcement officers, in perfect unison, bound the person together with vines.

"Who gave you the courage to think that seven people could enter the Sixth District?" Lu Zhi's vines slapped one of them across the face, his tone laced with mockery.

The man's mask had long since fallen off, revealing another ordinary face. He smiled at Lu Zhi and said, "We dared to come because we naturally have some trump cards up our sleeves."

Lu Zhi's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly looked towards the side of the carriage.

After dealing with the seven people, Sui Cheng was about to return when suddenly a semi-transparent tentacle wrapped around his leg and pulled hard, causing him to fall from the sky.

He manipulated the vines to entangle the tentacle, thus preventing himself from falling directly to the ground.

Lu Zhi rushed towards Sui Cheng, but just as he touched Sui Cheng's arm and before he could grab him, a circle of light appeared on the ground, enveloping the two of them. Sui Cheng felt a powerful suction force, and everything went black before his eyes, and he could see nothing at all.

"Damn it!" Lu Zhi watched as his companion disappeared before his eyes. The still fluctuating space told him that a spatial ability user was controlling things from behind, and that the user was probably not far away.

He released all his spiritual power, spreading it for ten miles, but found no trace of it.

"Tsk." Lu Zhi seemed to have lost his mind, but his expression was very calm. Huge vines grew from his feet and continued to spread, reaching straight into the sky in the dumbfounded eyes of everyone.

Feng Bai told the others to quickly step back so they wouldn't get hurt by the law enforcement officers.

But Lu Zhi was still very sensible; he used his mental power to call Wenwen over.

Wenwen also revealed its ears and tail, sitting in mid-air in front of Luzhi, its tail drooping listlessly.

"Find your dad right now." Lu Zhi slapped his little head.

Wenwen was knocked around a few times, and upon hearing that Suicheng was missing, she immediately closed her eyes and determined a direction based on the remaining spatial fluctuations.

"There," he said, pointing steadily in a direction.

“Alright.” Lu Zhi planned to go after them alone. Before leaving, he coldly reminded Feng Bai, “Keep an eye on your base. Make sure Wenwen gets to Xiaoling’s place. If anything happens to them…”

The vines behind him twitched, carrying a hint of threat.

Feng Bai nodded, his expression somewhat blank. After seeing Wenwen's ears and tail, he felt that his ability to accept things had become much stronger, and he was not as shocked as when he learned of the law enforcement officer's identity.

"I want to go with you!" Wenwen grabbed Luzhi's clothes, her little face serious, and said, "I want to go save Daddy too."

"No." Lu Zhi refused him without hesitation, grabbed him by the back of his collar, and threw him toward Sui Ling, who had arrived late.

Sui Ling glanced around but didn't see her brother. A moment of panic shot through her, and she quickly asked, "Brother Lu, what happened to my brother?"

"He's fine." Then, as if remembering something, he simply beckoned to Sui Ling to come over.

Sui Ling paused for a moment, then quickly realized what was happening, strode over to him, and took his hand.

A moment later, she opened her eyes, leaned close to Lu Zhi, and whispered a few words.

Lu Zhi's expression softened somewhat, and he wasn't as cold as before.

This makes one wonder what exactly Sui Ling said to Lu Zhi.

Sui Ling hugged Wenwen and waved to Lu Zhi, saying, "Brother Lu, be careful. Wenwen and I will wait for you to come back here."

"Hmm." Lu Zhi responded softly, his figure disappearing in front of everyone as the vines burrowed into the ground.
