Chapter 39 Zhong Qi and Zhong Ling
The attendant originally disagreed with involving the lawyer in this matter, as his position was unsuitable both morally and logically.
But Lu Zhi shook his head at him, lowered his head and whispered in his ear, "Trust me."
Accompanying passenger: "...Only once."
Lu Zhi smiled slightly, his voice captivating.
Stimulated by their ambiguous atmosphere, Shan Qiu quickly raised her hand to tell them they could leave, to go wherever they wanted to show off, as long as they didn't show off in front of her, a female single woman.
Sui Cheng pursed her lips, seemingly embarrassed by her blunt words. Although she didn't show it on her face, Lu Zhi could still tell, and pulled her away.
They've been waiting for so long, and the people from Base One still haven't arrived. Even though they're the furthest from the agreed-upon location, surely it shouldn't have been this long without them even seeing a trace of them?
They took turns keeping watch until late at night, while the others rested first.
As they sat outside the tent, Lu Zhi insisted on keeping watch with him, but ended up falling asleep on his shoulder, breathing softly and peacefully.
"Boom!" The roar of a car engine woke up everyone who was dozing off.
The ground was also shaking slightly, as if a large force was approaching.
"Hmm, what's wrong?" Lu Zhi mumbled and nuzzled against Sui Cheng's neck.
"Stop pretending, it must be the people from Base One who have arrived." Sui Cheng nudged his head, and Lu Zhi immediately sat up straight, his eyes clear, not at all like someone who had just woken up.
"Isn't this a bit too outrageous?" a member of the special forces team sitting next to them muttered quietly.
Dust billowed up on the road not far away. Leading the way was a black Jeep, followed by a bright red Harley motorcycle. The roar of the engines woke up the people sleeping in the tents, who all opened their tents and came out to see what was going on.
There were seven or eight other vehicles following behind the Harley. Judging from the atmosphere, the one riding the Harley must be someone important, as the vehicles in front and behind seemed to be protecting him.
The car stopped in front of them, but the Harley-Davidson charged straight at them with an aggressive air, as if it were a provocation.
He remained unmoved by the carriage.
Lu Zhi's aura darkened, and as Harley rushed in front of his attendant, he kicked him directly.
His action startled everyone else, who thought his leg would bleed profusely, but unexpectedly, it was the heavy Harley that fell to the ground.
The people in the car reacted quickly, abandoning the vehicle and jumping out. They took off their helmets, revealing messy yellow hair, and walked arrogantly toward the law enforcement officer, cursing, "Damn it, who do you think you are, daring to kick my car!"
"Don't you have eyes?" Lu Zhi wanted to kick him again.
"Do you even know who I am? How dare you treat me like this? I'll kill you!" The young man punched Lu Zhi in the face with his fist, which was covered in flames.
"Sizzle, bang."
Before he even touched Lu Zhi, a ball of lightning struck him in the stomach, instantly knocking him to his knees in front of Lu Zhi, his hair standing on end.
"Pfft..." The onlookers almost burst out laughing.
"What brand of plastic bag do you use? How can it hold so much?" Lu Zhi stepped on his hand without any politeness, and said with a forced smile, "Tell us, what kind of great identity do you have? Let everyone hear it."
"You..." The young man was so shocked by the electric shock that he slurred his words. He felt ashamed as soon as he uttered a single word, and his face turned extremely gloomy.
"You came here because of our captain? What, do you have a grudge against us? Such blatant provocation." Lu Zhi half-squatted in front of him, lowered his voice, and said with full of mockery, "Are you worthy?"
Zhong Qi was so angry that his eyes turned red, and he wished he could kill the man in front of him.
He moved his fingers and felt the numbness in his body lessen considerably. He then gathered his strength in his other hand, preparing to strike again.
The lawyer wasn't stupid; he immediately let go of her foot, and Zhun Tou said to the passenger with a wronged expression, "He's going to hit me again!"
The others: "..." Dude, you change your expression so fast!
"Damn it, die!" Zhong Qi's eyes widened in anger, and he had just raised his fist when it was grabbed by an even stronger hand.
The attendant's face was cold and stern as he looked down at him and said in a cold voice, "Are you looking for death?"
The attendant only says such things when he is angry.
"Captain Sui, my brother is young and doesn't know any better. Please let him off the hook." A gentle voice came from not far away.
At some point, a thin girl with long black hair and a white gauze covering her eyes got out of a car behind Base One. A tall, strong man with a gun at his waist stood next to her and carefully helped her walk forward.
Sui Cheng squinted. For some reason, when this girl appeared, she gave him a very strange feeling. Her energy field was weak, but her body seemed to contain huge energy.
“Sister, I am Zhong Ling, the captain of the Zero Hour Squad at Base One. This ignorant one is my twin brother, Zhong Qi, who is a dual-elemental ability user.”
After his sister finished speaking, Zhong Qi proudly raised his chin, as if he were something special.
"Dual elemental? Is that so great?" Lu Zhi stood behind his attendant, leaning close to him, and sneered, "Could it be that you're here to provoke our captain to prove you're the strongest dual elementalist? Looks like you've got quite the nerve."
Zhong Qi was exposed, his face turned bright red, and his eyes were filled with murderous intent as he looked at Lu Zhi.
He's always been fawned over; he's never been treated like this before. If it weren't for this disgusting man, he would have killed the chauffeur long ago.
Young people are often arrogant and easily angered. Once they lose their temper, they forget how they were just knocked down by their passenger and think they are the strongest in the world.
"Zhong Qi, don't be so rude. Apologize to this gentleman and Captain Sui." Zhong Ling bowed slightly, appearing very understanding. One couldn't help but think that compared to her younger brother, the older sister was truly a kind and considerate fairy.
“Zero Hour Squad, I don’t think I’ve heard of that name before. And this dual-element genius, I don’t think I’ve heard of him either. Who are you under?” Dang Hongyuan, the captain of the special forces team at the Huaxia Base, walked over, his hand resting on the gun handle at his waist, his belt tucked in. He scanned the group of people with his gaze and continued, “Such a large-scale operation, and you’re all from the same squad? Didn’t Base One send anyone else? Where’s Leng Tianrui?”
Upon hearing Leng Tianrui's name, Zhong Qi's expression darkened further, since everyone knew that Leng Tianrui was the strongest among dual-elemental ability users.
He glanced cautiously at his sister Zhong Ling, and then, remembering what she had said before he came, he suddenly felt confident and said with his head held high, "Captain Leng has gone to the coast, so we'll handle things here."
Dang Hongyuan said in a calm tone, "Little brother, I admire your courage. Even your Captain Leng has never been so arrogant as to provoke other ability users. It seems you are very confident in your abilities."
Zhong Qi felt mocked and retorted sharply, "Because I am a dual-elemental user of wind and thunder, I have both of the two most recognized strongest superpowers, so why shouldn't I be the strongest!"
Dang Hongyuan was indeed somewhat surprised that he was a dual-elemental user of wind and thunder. No wonder he dared to cause trouble for his attendant. However, superpowers cannot determine everything. He was still a young man. He just needed to do more somersaults.
“You’re a bit late, but at least you’ve arrived. We’ll set off as soon as it’s light. Captain Zhong Ling, what do you think?”
"Everyone should listen to the Party and the team."
Dang Hongyuan raised an eyebrow and said in a deep voice, "You know me?"
With a perfectly timed smile on her face, Zhong Ling said softly, "Everyone here is an elder to my brother and me. Before coming here, in order to avoid making any mistakes or offending you, we have already learned about the team leader who will be leading this trip."
Dang Hongyuan narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze sweeping over Zhong Ling's bandaged eyes, and asked curiously, "Captain Zhong Ling, what about your eyes?"
"Don't worry, Party Leader, my eyes just can't stand the light, it won't affect my vision, and I'll try my best not to bother you." Zhong Ling touched her eyes, exuding a sad aura that made people feel sorry for her.
