Chapter 3 Three Rules
After the search and search, they prepared to return home.
The law enforcement officer was particularly shameless and insisted on sitting next to the passenger. When the passenger disagreed, he started to act pitiful and pitiful, pouting and saying miserably, "But I'm in pain, I want to sit in the back, it's more spacious there."
The space next to the passenger seat was indeed spacious.
Apart from the attendant and Chen Jiang, everyone else had a strange expression on their faces, looking at the attendant making room for the lawyer but hesitant to speak.
Chen Jiang saw that they were all exactly the same and was a little confused. What was going on?
As soon as Lu Zhi sat down next to Sui Cheng, he leaned against him like he had no bones. He barely touched him before Sui Cheng slapped him away.
"Don't you have any bones?"
Lu Zhi looked at him pitifully and said, "But I'm injured."
He coughed twice after he finished speaking.
Lu Zhi quickly covered his mouth, swallowing all the blood that surged up in his throat, but a little blood still got on his lips, making his already beautiful lips even more gorgeous.
When he lowered his hand, the passenger vaguely saw a hint of blood and wondered if he had vomited blood.
But Lu Zhi didn't approach him. Instead, he leaned back in the car seat and said weakly, "Captain Sui, I'm going to sleep for a while. Remember to wake me when we get there."
Before his companion could answer, he closed his eyes on his own.
His pale face glowed, as translucent as jade, yet it lacked any trace of human vitality. However, his features were exceptionally handsome, with sharp, almost cold, angles. His features, when put together, possessed an indescribable beauty, and his naturally captivating peach blossom eyes added to his allure.
Sui Cheng looked at him absentmindedly, not because he was attracted by his face, but because he was thinking about the man's injuries.
The chances of surviving this kind of injury for anyone are no more than fifty percent, and even if they survive temporarily, they will inevitably suffer from long-term effects.
Such a person is indeed not suitable to follow their kind of reconnaissance team that travels all over the place. If they really intend to stay at the Huaxia base, they can only find a job within the base.
But plants with therapeutic properties... it's impossible not to be tempted by them.
They are bound to get hurt when they are out in the world, and having someone like this around can at least provide them with more security.
Sui Cheng hesitated, a rare emotion for him, and simply closed his eyes to rest.
Just as his breathing gradually calmed down, Lu Zhi opened his eyes and looked at Sui Cheng's face. His fingertips trembled slightly, wanting to touch him, but he forcibly controlled them.
Lü Zhi knew that Sui Cheng was a stubborn but soft-hearted person, and that as long as he found the right way, Sui Cheng wouldn't be able to shake him off.
It took them less time to get back than it took them to get there.
Lu Zhi looked at the magnificent high wall outside the window with a disdainful smile. He only glanced at it before shifting his gaze to the attendant beside him.
The passenger was awake and had gotten used to his gaze, even giving him a cold look in return. "When we get to the base, I'll hand you over to the inspection personnel. They'll check the identities of all outsiders. Do you remember your ID number?"
Lu Zhi's fingertips trembled slightly as he lowered his eyes and said, "Probably."
What does it mean when someone frowns while riding in a carriage?
Lu Zhi smiled faintly and said, "What if I don't remember?"
“It will be more troublesome if you don’t remember your ID number.” Chen Jiang stuck his head out from the front and interjected, “If you remember your ID number, you only need to check if you are carrying any foreign viruses. If you don’t remember it, you will need to do genetic testing, blood tests and a series of other things, and you will also need to be placed in a special monitoring room for observation for three days.”
"This is too much trouble." Lu Zhi sighed, brushing his hair aside, revealing a rare hint of annoyance. He didn't want to be separated from his companion, not even for a day, let alone three days.
"Let me think, I should be able to remember."
Upon arriving at the base, Lu Zhi managed to recall his ID number, and as he watched the staff searching for his identity information, he lowered his eyes.
"Lawyer, male, 25 years old, hmm, ID number is correct, next."
When the lawyer heard this, he breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness…
As I walked ahead of him, I suddenly turned around and asked, "You seem very nervous?"
Lu Zhi quickly forced a smile and said, "It's my first time at the base, of course I'm nervous."
Sui Cheng gave a soft "hmm" and continued, "Since you're new to the base, you haven't been assigned a house yet, but there are temporary rest tents prepared for you in the living area..."
"Captain Sui, may I come with you?" Lu Zhi's voice was very soft, and he couldn't tell the emotion in it. However, his gaze towards Sui Cheng was exceptionally serious, so serious that it carried a deep sense of determination.
The lawyer continued, "I heard from your teammates that you don't have a partner and live alone, so can I stay at your place temporarily? But don't worry, I won't eat or drink for free, I can do anything."
He wouldn't let someone he just met take him home; he's not stupid.
"No way." He refused outright.
“Sui Cheng.” Lu Zhi grasped his hand, his cool skin touching Sui Cheng’s warm skin, sending a shiver down one’s spine.
"Cough cough cough!" Just as Lu Zhi was about to speak, he started coughing uncontrollably.
The coughing continued unabated, and the smell of blood spread. He coughed up a mouthful of blood, and his face turned even paler.
The passenger was startled. So what if she rejected him? Was it really worth getting so angry that she vomited blood?
The team leader, unusually at a loss, quickly helped the person up and asked with a frown, "Are you alright? I'll take you to the infirmary."
"No need," Lu Zhi quickly stopped his hand, saying, "I'm just not used to it yet."
After a while, he changed his mind and said, "My body is really not suitable for living alone. Captain, please save me, okay?"
Sui Cheng's pupils contracted sharply, and he felt as if his heart had been struck by a hammer.
He didn't say "help me," he said "save me."
This left the passenger with no way to refuse.
Lawyer is like a piece of chewing gum; once you're stuck with him, you can't tear him off.
The passenger couldn't understand why it had to be him.
Lu Zhi held onto Sui Cheng's hand tightly, spitting out all the blood in his mouth. He ignored the pain in his internal organs, which was nothing to him; he would get used to it.
But when he saw a hint of tension flash across Sui Cheng's face, he felt that it didn't matter if it hurt a little more.
“Suicheng, I won’t hurt you.” Lu Zhi said to Suicheng in a helpless tone, his calloused fingertips stroking his wrist.
Sui Cheng awkwardly withdrew his hand, his tone no longer as cold and hard as usual.
"Let's establish three rules first." He held up three fingers and said to the lawyer, "First, once you're healed, move out immediately."
"Okay, sure." Lu Zhi smiled. Move out as soon as he's healed? Impossible, his injury won't heal.
The passenger continued, "Secondly, you may not enter my private area except for your own room and public areas."
The lawyer raised an eyebrow and nodded in agreement.
The passenger paused for a moment, then stated the third rule: "No touching or groping."
Law Enforcement: ...
This puts him in a difficult position.
