Chapter 142 It works well elsewhere too

The vines of the Law Enforcer found the whereabouts of that group of people; although it was unclear whether they had been plundered, it was pretty close.

Even without his entourage taking action, he could handle that group of people.

So when they arrived, the passengers saw those men all lying dead in the room.

It's obvious who did it.

"They're not dead, are they?" He glanced at the group of people; two of them were listed in the records, both leaders of the plundering operation.

“We still need to question them, of course we won’t let them die.” Lu Zhi pulled up a chair for his attendant to sit on, leaving the questioning to him.

The attendant pointed to a person, and the law enforcer used vines to wake that person up.

This man is Xiang Jinqiang, and he is Wei Lesheng's subordinate.

When he woke up, he saw that everyone around him was lying on the ground, and there were other people in front of him. One was a stranger, and the other looked very familiar. He thought about it for a while and then remembered who it was.

Accompanying.

Xiang Jinqiang's face turned deathly pale instantly, as if he could already see his own death.

"How...how did you find us?" He was still somewhat unwilling, and although he was trying to suppress his fear, his voice was still trembling.

Since Wei Lesheng escaped, they have scattered like stray dogs, but once they left the base, their living conditions returned to the lowest level.

"I have something to ask you, answer honestly."

The vines dragged the man to the side of the carriage. He pulled out a military dagger and slapped it on Xiang Jinqiang's face, his words carrying a strong threat.

Xiang Jinqiang shrank back, realizing that his supernatural power had completely disappeared after being entangled by the vines. He was terrified and quickly shook his head, saying, "I don't know anything. Even if you kill me, I won't know anything!"

"I haven't even asked yet, and you already don't know?" Lu Zhi patted his face with the vines.

Xiang Jinqiang said awkwardly, "Don't you want to know Wei Lesheng's whereabouts?"

Lu Zhi raised an eyebrow and looked at the person in the carriage.

The attendant said coldly, "Did Wei Lesheng leave with the new generation of people?"

“Yes, it’s that guy named Duan Zi’an. He ran away with his men before Yang Xie arrived. We don’t know where they went.” Xiang Jinqiang carefully observed their expressions and said tremblingly, “Captain Sui, I really didn’t do anything. Can you spare my life? I promise I will never go back to the base.”

"Why did you flee here?" the attendant asked again.

"Isn't it because there's a stronghold here?" Xiang Jinqiang whispered. "The strongholds we raid usually have a lot of food stored up, so I thought I'd try my luck and not starve to death."

"Besides you, who else is there?" The passenger casually mentioned a few names.

Xiang Jinqiang's expression changed, and he said, "They're all dead."

"How did he die?"

How would I know?

Despite asking so many questions, they couldn't get any information out of him, which left the passenger somewhat disappointed.

But after only a few seconds of disappointment, Xiang Jinqiang offered, "I can tell you the locations of the other strongholds, as long as you let me go."

"Alright, I'll let you off the hook." Sui Cheng readily agreed, then glanced at Lu Zhi as if nothing had happened.

How could Lu Zhi not understand his meaning? He nodded slightly to indicate that he understood.

Xiang Jinqiang asked them for a map, then drew several circles on it. After finishing, he returned the map to his entourage, saying, "These are some of the larger and more secluded strongholds that we've plundered. If the others escape, they'll most likely go to these places."

"Hmm." The attendant put the map away.

"Then, can I leave?" Xiang Jinqiang glanced at the vines binding him and asked softly.

"Let's go." Lu Zhi released the vines.

Xiang Jinqiang glanced at the other unconscious people, then hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't.

Lu Zhi sneered, "Not planning on leaving?"

"Let's go, let's go!" Xiang Jinqiang took off running.

He thought he had escaped, but little did he know that a large group of alien species was waiting for him outside.

"Continue." The attendant refused to believe that he wouldn't get anything out of them today.

The law enforcement officer woke up another person and subjected them to another round of interrogation.

This person knew much more than Xiang Jinqiang, and seemed bolder, at least he didn't show any signs of fear.

"Liu Can, do you know where Wei Lesheng is?" Sui Cheng called out his name immediately.

"I have a general idea." Liu Can was a little scared when he first woke up, but he quickly calmed down.

Sui Cheng looked at him with a solemn expression.

Liu Can paused for a moment and said, "I saw him being taken away the day he was taken away. I overheard his conversation with his South Korean sweetheart, Gao Min, and Duan Zi'an. They were talking about going north."

The lawyer asked, "So that mistress was really used by the new faction to spy on Wei Lesheng?"

Liu Can nodded and said, "That's pretty much it. Although Wei Lesheng is the leader of the plundering, he completely listens to the new faction. He's just a fence-sitter. Duan Zi'an came to take him away personally because he has quite a few crystal cores."

Sui Cheng stared intently, and from what he heard, it seemed that Wei Lesheng had taken all the plundered crystal cores with him before fleeing.

"Do you know the exact location?" the passenger asked him.

Liu Can said, "If I tell you, will you let me go?"

"I will." The passenger gave the same answer as before.

But Liu Can was more intelligent than Xiang Jinqiang. He looked at the lawyer and asked, "Does he know how to do it?"

Lu Zhi raised an eyebrow and said, "Of course I can too. You're quite suspicious."

“One must be careful when living in this world,” Liu Can said. “All I know is that they went to Xihe Province.”

Sui Cheng's gaze darkened. Xihe Province matched the location in the photo. It seemed that the New Generation's stronghold might really be in the small fishing village that Bai Xuefeng mentioned.

With nothing more to ask, the law enforcement officer snapped his fingers, and Liu Can regained his freedom. After stretching his shoulders, he started running outside quickly before his attendants could even speak.

Neither the attendants nor the law enforcers stopped him.

Lu Zhi yawned and said, "This guy really runs fast."

"Now that it's all sorted out, we can go back."

Upon hearing that they were going back, the vines on Lu Zhi's body wiggled happily.

The alien species he controlled had already chased after Liu Can in the direction he had fled. As for the unconscious minions on the ground, Lu Zhi directly devoured their powers and then threw them off the building. His actions were swift and ruthless, without the slightest hesitation.

"Alright." Lv Zhi whistled casually, looked at Sui Cheng, and laughed, "Don't you think I'm pretty useful? Our Captain Sui doesn't even need to lift a finger."

"It really works well." The passenger nodded.

Lu Zhi hooked his arm around his neck, bit his ear, and said in a low, husky voice, "It works well in other places too."

The passenger glared at him. He was so serious just now, why is he acting like a hooligan again!
