Chapter 149 Yanning City
With Duan Zian gone, the crisis was immediately resolved.
Lu Zhi strode up to Sui Cheng and, even though he knew Sui Cheng was not injured, he still nervously scrutinized him carefully.
"Why don't you want me to take action?" Lu Zhi asked, frowning.
“No need,” the attendant said. “While I was making the move, I took the opportunity to place a locator on him.”
He opened his hand, and a small red dot appeared on the screen of the communicator in his hand, moving away and disappearing after it was completely out of the location range.
Lu Zhi grasped his hand and asked in a low voice, "Then next time we meet, can I kill him?"
"Yes, as long as you're willing." Sui Cheng said, pointing out the direction of the location to Yang Xie and the others.
Yang Xie nodded and said, "Alright, let's go."
Having a clear direction, they didn't linger. They drove through the small town, but when they reached a road, they found it blocked off, and cars couldn't get through at all.
"Looks like it was intentional." Xuan Lin scoffed.
Duan Zian knew they would catch up, so he blocked their only way, forcing them to take a detour and delaying their time.
"Let's take a detour." Yang Xie glanced at the map and chose a route that wasn't too far away.
After taking a different route, they left the town, only to unexpectedly discover something amiss ahead.
A car belching black smoke was parked on the side of the road, with messy tire tracks and bloodstains on the ground.
Yang Xie sent Ming Tongguang and the others to check out the situation.
Ming Tongguang cautiously approached and discovered an unconscious person inside the burning car.
He and the people around him quickly rescued the person.
Sui Cheng and Lu Zhi also approached, and frowned as they looked at the clothes on the injured man. "It seems to be someone from Bai Xuefeng's side."
"Bai Xuefeng?" Lu Zhi squatted down, and the green light fell on the man's wound, easily reviving him.
After the others woke up, they immediately asked them questions.
When the man heard that they were from the China base, he became agitated and said breathlessly, "Please save our captain!"
"Is that Bai Xuefeng?" the attendant asked.
"Yes! We were attacked by the New Generation on the road. They kidnapped our captain, and we chased them all the way here, but we were stopped." He hurriedly explained, then went out to look at the burning car, panicking, and asked, "Where are the others?"
“You’re the only one here,” Ming Tongguang said.
Yang Xie waved his hand, signaling Ming Tongguang to take the man away and ask him about the details once he calmed down.
After everyone got into the car, he said to the passenger, "They deliberately left this person here, just in time to let us find out."
Sui Cheng nodded; he thought so too.
But I'm also a little puzzled as to why the new generation would do this.
They thought the other side would avoid them like the plague, but they didn't expect them to deliberately leave clues to lure them there. Either there's a trap, or there's a problem within the new faction.
They continued walking in that direction and finally saw Yanning City, which was also a coastal city, with the air filled with the salty smell of the sea breeze.
Lu Zhi wasn't as resistant as before, but he still felt uncomfortable smelling this scent. His aura was uncontrollable, and the alien species within a radius of more than ten kilometers sensed this aura and immediately ran away in fright.
They went straight to the seaside to find that small fishing village.
However, most of the small fishing villages in Yanning City are located on islands, but they couldn't see any islands at all on the sea in front of them.
Yang Xie gestured and said, "Each group, split up and search."
"Okay." Sui Cheng nodded, glanced at Duan Zian's location, and then led the team toward the seaside.
This was Sui Ling's first time traveling far from home. Looking at the azure sea, she was filled with excitement, but she restrained herself from running around. However, her steps couldn't help but become a little hurried.
"Go ahead." The vines of the law drooped over her shoulders, encouraging her to go boldly.
Sui Ling glanced at Sui Cheng, waiting for him to speak.
The servant glanced at the vines on her shoulder, sighed helplessly, and said, "Go on, be careful."
"Okay!" Sui Ling immediately ran towards the seaside.
In the past, Sui Cheng would never have allowed her to get close to the sea, but Sui Ling has the vines of Law Enforcement on her body, and any alien species that senses her aura would like to stay at least 800 meters away.
So when the spirit approached, the eager alien creatures in the sea instantly darted back into the water and dared not surface again.
"Have you found it?" the attendant asked the law clerk.
Lu Zhi yawned lazily and stuck to his back like a sticky candy. "No, there are no islands on the sea."
"That's strange." The passenger glanced at the GPS; Duan Zian's location had disappeared above the sea.
He glanced at Xuan Linwen and the others and said, "Let's split up and search."
Xuan Lin sighed and said, "If I had known the location of the stronghold, we wouldn't have wasted so much time."
"That's because you're useless. You couldn't even get into the new generation." Lu Zhi continued his sarcastic remarks as always.
Xuan Linwen snorted coldly and retorted sarcastically, "Even with your abilities, you still haven't found it."
"Heh." Lu Zhi beckoned with his finger, and the seed in Xuan Linwen's mind began to emit powerful spiritual energy.
He gasped, then turned sharply to his companion, openly complaining, "Captain, can't you do something about this? We're teammates now, after all."
Xuan Linwen's words made perfect sense. Lu Zhi's face turned black with anger, and he gritted his teeth and said, "That's why I'm complaining!"
Sui Cheng patted Lu Zhi on the shoulder and said calmly, "Stop fooling around."
Lu Zhi snorted softly, withdrew all his power, and gave Xuan Linwen a warning look.
Xuan Linwen revealed a smug smile.
Once you find the weakness in the law, you can easily control him.
"Lu Zhi, have you found anything on the seabed?" Sui Cheng suddenly thought of something and asked Lu Zhi to use his mental power to check the seabed.
Lu Zhi hummed softly, turned her head to look at his lips, lowered her head and kissed them, and then used her mental power to probe into the seabed.
They had reached the beach, the waves lapping at their feet. Sui Ling, having had her fill of playing, ran back and said, "Captain, I see the lighthouse over there."
The passenger hurriedly looked in the direction she pointed, but didn't see any lighthouse. He frowned, feeling a bit strange.
Sui Ling also looked surprised and said, "I really saw it just now."
"It's a mental barrier, isn't it?" Xuan Linwen deliberately looked at Lu Zhi and asked, "Didn't you feel it?"
Lu Zhi frowned slightly; he truly hadn't sensed it.
To put it bluntly, he doesn't possess psychic abilities; he simply has stronger psychic power than the average ability user. He would indeed overlook overly sophisticated psychic skills.
"Let's go take a look first."
