Chapter 165, District Seven

Chapter 165 The Seventh District

When they passed by the Sixth District, which was under construction, they stopped there and also met with Xuan Linwen.

They had contacted Xuan Linwen in advance, and he sent them an address to go there.

Upon arrival, they first saw Xuan Linwen, but Xuan Linwen was talking to the person next to him and did not notice them.

The attendant glanced at the person next to Xuan Linwen. He was sitting in a wheelchair, his eyes were covered with a black cloth, so he probably couldn't see. He looked young, and his face had a sickly appearance.

“Announce…”

"Shhh."

The name that Sui Cheng was about to say was interrupted by Xuan Linwen.

He gave them a wink, and they stopped walking towards him.

Xuan Linwen bent down and said something to the man. After seeing him nod, he walked towards his entourage.

"I didn't expect you to arrive so quickly." Xuan Linwen had a faint smile on his face, and seemed to be in a very good mood.

"Who is that?" the attendant asked.

Xuan Linwen led them to a pre-built house, which served as his temporary office, "to an old friend."

Lu Zhi sensed something was off from the two's subtle actions and sneered, "So you came here for him, didn't you?"

Xuan Linwen was silent for a moment, then nodded and said, "I guess so."

He felt that this topic should not be continued, so he changed the subject and said: "I have found out about the things that the team asked me to find out. The sixth and seventh districts are under construction at the same time. There are indeed quite a few outsiders. The control here is not as strict as in the other districts, and some people have still managed to sneak in. I have already sent people to monitor them."

"How many people are there? What are their backgrounds?" the attendant asked in a deep voice.

Xuan Linwen said, "They are all overseas Chinese, but the exact number is still uncertain."

He tapped his watch and sent a document to his passenger, saying, "Take a look at this first."

When I opened the file, I saw a new map. The map showed seven districts spreading outwards in a circle, and there was a passage leading from the seventh district to Guangdong.

“This road has been bombed,” Xuan Linwen said. “It must have been done on purpose, so if you want to go to Guangdong, you’ll have to take a detour.”

"It's too far," the passenger said.

Xuan Linwen nodded and said, "Yes, so once those people know your whereabouts, they will retreat even faster than you and go to another place. You'll have made a wasted trip."

“These are minor matters,” Lawyer suddenly said. “I have a solution.”

The method he suggested could only be used after leaving the base area.

Sui Cheng nodded slightly, then asked Xuan Linwen, "The Party said there are still traces of the alien species in the Seventh District. Have you discovered them?"

“I’ve been staying in District Six recently, so I don’t know.” Xuan Linwen waved his hand and said, “I estimate I’ll stay here for another ten days to half a month, and then I’ll take him to District One.”

“Okay.” Sui Cheng put away the map and immediately decided to go to District Seven to take a look.

"Wait a minute." Xuan Linwen called out to them, "Where's your child? I haven't seen him in a long time. Let me see him."

Before they adopted Wenwen, Xuan Linwen returned to District 1. He was slightly surprised to hear that the embryo he brought back had successfully hatched. The laboratory also said that if he wanted, he could take the little monster back to raise it.

He agreed to everything, but the lawyer disagreed.

After all, he had raised the child for almost half a year; it was impossible for him to just hand it over.

The passenger said, "He's with Xiaoling."

Upon hearing that Sui Ling had also come, Xuan Linwen raised an eyebrow and said, "So this is a family trip of four."

Lu Zhi laughed and said, "That's right. We've been staying at the base for a while, and it gets a bit boring. It's good to come out for a walk."

The car was parked not far away. As soon as he got close, Lu Zhi felt a weight on his head.

It had teleported directly over, perched on his neck, half its body on his head, its tail wagging happily.

"Get down here!" Lu Zhi's face darkened, and he grabbed the little rascal by the tail.

Sui Cheng was surprised that Wenwen was so bold. Before Lu Zhi went berserk, he picked him up and handed him to Xuan Linwen, saying, "Look."

"Not bad, he's well-fed and plump." Xuan Linwen looked him up and down, then probed his energy, and sighed, "Is his ability getting stronger and stronger?"

"Yes, I've been keeping it under control." Sui Cheng nodded and held Wenwen in his arms.

She hugged her father's neck tightly, nuzzled his face affectionately, and was about to give him a kiss when her tail was pulled back. A warning gaze emanated from behind her, as if saying, "You're dead if you dare kiss me!"

"Ugh..." Wenwen shrank back in fright, quickly glanced at Luzhi, and smiled at him in a fawning manner.

...

As evening fell, they continued their journey and stopped in District 7 to rest for the night.

They parked the car outside and spent the night inside.

Strange noises came from outside in the middle of the night.

Lu Zhi and Wenwen opened their eyes at the same time.

Wenwen shrunk out of Suiling's arms, pressed herself against the car window, and looked outside with her big purple eyes blinking, full of curiosity about the outside world.

"Shh." Lu Zhi told him not to move, then opened the car window, and the vines crept towards the source of the sound.

"What's wrong?" The attendant finally woke up.

"It's okay, go back to sleep." Lu Zhi covered his eyes before he fully opened them.

Sui Cheng paused for a moment, grabbed his hand, forcibly pried it open, and frowned, asking, "What's wrong?"

Lu Zhi pointed outside, indicating, "There might be some alien species approaching. Let me see if I can use them to lure out other alien species."

Sui Cheng rubbed her temples, leaned against his shoulder, closed her eyes again, and whispered, "Then be careful."

"Okay." Lu Zhi smiled and kissed him on the cheek.

The vine encountered a mutant a kilometer away, a small mutated rat that posed no threat.

The mouse was entangled in the vines, but was brought under control within seconds.

It ran in one direction, with vines following closely behind, and disappeared into a sewer.

There are quite a few alien species inside, but they are all very weak. They must have been infected not long ago, and some haven't even developed intelligence yet.

Lu Zhi sighed, used his mental power to control them, and then sent them out to find the whereabouts of other alien species.

Around two or three in the morning, a few died, and a faint energy was released from underground.

"Found it." A cold glint flashed in Lu Zhi's eyes as he continued to manipulate the vines forward.

Upon arriving at the location where the energy appeared, Lü Zhi saw several figures.

A superhuman dressed in a black combat suit, wearing a gas mask, and carrying a firearm is attacking the alien species.

The officer sized the man up and thought he looked like a plunderer.

But since the looting stopped, it has never happened again. Even when they were dealing with the new faction, only a few insignificant minions appeared.
