Chapter 57 Devouring
"What on earth is this thing?" Lin Zhi and the others were dumbfounded. They had never seen such a strange creature before, as if it were unkillable.
Even though Lu Zhi had never seen it before, it didn't stop him from analyzing this alien species.
It is not a natural organism, but a hybrid of humans and other species, created through experiments.
He was very curious about the purpose of the people behind this experiment. Was it to destroy the world?
"Captain, be careful." Chen Jiang's call to his attendant woke Lu Zhi from his reverie.
He only saw his attendant get hit by that thing and fall heavily to the ground with a loud thud. You could tell from the sound whether it hurt or not, but because of this fall, Lu Zhi's deep green eyes were filled with a strong sense of malevolence, and he looked like he wanted to kill someone.
"Wait, what is this?" someone asked in a puzzled voice.
Sui Cheng glanced down at his waist. Thick vines wrapped around his waist, pulling him away from the blood corpse's attack range and blocking him. The vines swung, leaving afterimages, and sent the blood corpse flying ten meters away.
“Lv Zhi, stay calm,” Sui Cheng said in a low voice, grabbing the vine.
Knowing that Lu Zhi could hear him, he gripped the vine tightly and repeated, "Lu Zhi, don't be impulsive."
The vines slowed their movements, then seized the opportunity to break free. As they slowly opened their palms together, purple-blue lightning flickered and danced in their hands.
"凝"
He moved like lightning, as if traversing space, flashing several times before arriving in front of the blood corpse. The lightning in his hand transformed into a long weapon, which he cleaved directly down towards its forehead.
With a loud "boom," lightning flashed and thunder roared in the sky. Sui Cheng staggered as lightning and icicles rained down upon him.
"Roar." The blood corpse roared and charged towards Sui Cheng without any fear. But just as it was about to touch Sui Cheng, its body disappeared and reappeared behind Sui Cheng, where it plunged a claw into the chest of the person behind it.
"Wang Cheng!" Xu Fei shouted his teammate's name, but it was too late. The blood corpse's hand pierced through his chest, and all the blood was absorbed by it.
Sui Cheng quickly pulled out his gun and shot the blood corpse in the arm, but the bullet only went in halfway and posed no threat to it.
"Its wound is healing!"
"Get away immediately, it heals by sucking blood." Dang Hongyuan immediately ordered everyone to stand back, and then had those who could attack from a distance interrupt its healing.
Sui Cheng instantly teleported to the side of the blood corpse and retrieved the body of Xu Fei's teammate. Even if he died, he had to leave a complete corpse.
"Thank you." Xu Fei's voice was hoarse as he took his teammate's body from the attendant and placed it in a safe spot.
Now they are too exhausted to grieve; their main concern is how to deal with this blood corpse.
No superpower can solve this problem; it will immediately recover as soon as it comes into contact with blood.
"Let me do it." Sui Cheng heard Lu Zhi's voice. Even though Lu Zhi wasn't beside him, his voice seemed to be right next to him.
He instinctively touched his wrist and found that the vines had climbed up to his shoulder. The sound he had just heard came from it, and it seemed that no one else could hear it.
"How do you plan to resolve this?" the attendant asked in a low voice.
"Just swallow it."
Upon hearing this, the attendant's first reaction was that the law master intended to eat the blood corpse.
He looked at the disgusting appearance of the blood corpse, his pupils trembling. How was he supposed to eat it?
Seeing his expression, Lu Zhi knew he had misunderstood again, and explained helplessly, "It's not what you think, swallowing it; it's just using the vines to absorb its power."
"For your body..."
“There are benefits; you can become stronger.” Knowing what he was going to ask, Lu Zhi interrupted him directly. The vines obediently rubbed against his face. “Be good, believe me. Even if there are many of you, your superpowers will eventually run out, but I can solve it. It just will take a little longer.”
The passengers, who had been relieved, frowned upon hearing his last sentence and asked, "How long will it take?"
The law enforcement officer said, "That's enough for you to leave the southwest."
That would take at least two or three days.
Lu Zhi instructed his attendants to find a way to get everyone away, because the ground beneath their feet would sink, and the vines would take the opportunity to drag the blood corpses underground.
"Hmm," the attendant replied in a muffled voice. "Be careful."
It was that awkward tone again that made Lu Zhike laugh, and she couldn't wait to press him down and kiss him right then and there.
Having exhausted most of his energy, he took a few steps back, ice spreading from his feet, and then loudly reminded the others to stay away.
Many people have witnessed his "thousand-mile ice-freezing" technique; if you don't stay far away, you'll be frozen along with them.
The surrounding area, spanning nearly ten meters, was frozen solid, and the blood corpse was successfully controlled. The others seized the opportunity and hurriedly unleashed their skills on the blood corpse, hoping that this might solve the problem.
The vines of the Lawful Execution burst forth from the ground, easily breaking the ice. The vines quickly swept across the ground, dragging the blood corpse into the earth before everyone's eyes, until it disappeared from sight.
Everyone else was stunned. When the vines first appeared, they thought another alien species had appeared. Before they could see clearly, the vines and the blood corpse disappeared together.
"What is this? It looks somewhat familiar?"
How could it not look familiar? Wasn't this the same vine that saved Captain Sui earlier? Could it be someone's special ability?
"Captain Sui, what's going on?" someone couldn't help but ask him.
Sui Cheng said without changing his expression, "It's my team member's special ability that can restrain this thing."
He immediately walked up to Dang Hongyuan and said seriously, "Team Leader Dang, I suggest we retreat immediately. Many of our team members have almost used up their superpowers. I'm worried that there's still a mastermind behind us who will make a move when our superpowers are exhausted."
Dang Hongyuan thought similarly to him, so he immediately ordered them to leave.
The passenger breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing his instructions, but before he could even fully relax, he heard Linzhi calling him.
"Captain, Brother Lu, Brother Lu has fainted!"
Sui Cheng hurriedly walked towards them and saw that Lu Zhi's collar was covered in blood, and he was being supported by Lin Zhi, his face pale.
"Brother Lu was just vomiting blood like crazy. He wouldn't let me call you, and then he passed out while he was vomiting," Lin Zhi explained helplessly.
Sui Cheng nodded, wiped the blood off Lu Zhi's face, and then carried him into the car. He didn't seem very worried, but there was a cold glint in his eyes. "Let's go, catch up with the group, and leave the Southwest immediately."
Madrid and the others looked at Lu Zhi, who was in the arms of the passenger, with great concern and asked, "Captain, shouldn't we find a medic to take a look at Lu Zhi?"
"No need, he can heal himself."
This answer was far-fetched, but no one dared to ask further, because they always felt that Sui Cheng had a somewhat low-pressure aura.
...
Deep underground, enormous vines entwined the blood corpse, turning from green to deep red, as if they had been soaked in blood.
Meanwhile, deep underground in Xinghai City, a dark green crystal emitted powerful energy fluctuations, frightening the other alien species into fleeing at high speed.
The vines spread endlessly, taking over this underground world.
