Chapter 93 Can they all give birth?
On the turbulent sea, a manta ray far exceeding its normal size was entangled by a thick vine. It let out a painful cry, and the uncontrollable fluctuations of its mental power alerted other alien species, causing them to flee.
The vines are tens of meters long, seemingly trying to break through the clouds, with branches piercing through its body like sharp blades.
The manta ray couldn't believe that it had been killed by a land-dwelling alien species without even being able to fight back.
It had completely lost the strength to resist, and its energy was being absorbed by this strange vine.
Lu Zhi stood on the deck with Sui Cheng in his arms. A strong wind swept through, and green vine tattoos climbed up his neck, so lifelike that they seemed about to peel off his body at any moment.
The emerald green triangular leaves gently touched Suicheng's face, relieving the damage to his mental energy.
The blood of the manta rays stained the sea area where the warship was located. The powerful alien energy attracted other alien species to linger in safe places, as if they were waiting for Lu Zhi to leave so they could devour the manta rays immediately.
The vines absorbed the power from the manta ray. Lü Zhi turned his head away and suddenly spat out several mouthfuls of blood, his face as pale as paper. He waved his hand, and the vines casually tossed the manta ray's corpse aside.
The rescue team from Haicheng is also arriving soon.
With the law in place, those alien species dare not approach, and even if warships stop here, nothing will happen.
The entire ship's law enforcement officers and those detained in the lower decks were still awake.
Xuan Linwen sensed that something was wrong outside and originally wanted to take this opportunity to escape, but he did not expect to see Lu Zhi easily kill the manta ray, and his heart sank.
Lu Zhi knew he had escaped, but made no comment, only glancing at him. Xuan Linwen felt a lingering fear; he was incredibly lucky to have survived being killed by this alien while in the lab.
He didn't dare to run away anymore, so he obediently returned to the room where he was being held. When he heard the sound of rescue, he closed his eyes and began to play dead.
…
When Sui Cheng woke up, a full day and night had passed.
Thanks to Lu Zhi's treatment, he woke up relatively quickly. Yang Xie woke up next, while the others with weaker resistance were still unconscious.
Because of the shortage of treatment rooms in Haicheng, Sui Cheng and Yang Xie were in the same ward. Lu Zhi held his hand tightly and was about to speak when he was interrupted by the sound from outside.
He gripped the hand of the person accompanying him tightly, looking somewhat displeased at the doorway. The ward door opened, and Dang Hongyuan entered carrying an eight- or nine-year-old boy.
"Father." The boy started crying as soon as he saw Yang Xie, but Dang Hongyuan covered his throat before he could even utter a sound.
"This is a ward, no noise allowed. There are other uncles here." Dang Hongyuan looked at the people accompanying him and said softly, "Sorry to bother you."
The little boy pouted and silently shed tears.
"Why did you bring him along?" Yang Xie tried to take the child, but Dang Hongyuan dodged him and looked at his hands.
Yang Xie paused for a moment, then explained, "I'm not injured."
"Hmm." Dang Hongyuan then handed the little boy to him and explained, "He followed us here on his own. He probably overheard our conversation and hid in the trunk when I came out."
Lu Zhi watched the happy family of three with curiosity, then leaned close to the attendant's ear and asked, "They have a child? How did they have it? Is it possible for them to have children?"
The passenger actually understood the profound meaning in his last sentence, slapped him across the face, and said speechlessly, "What are you thinking? This child is adopted."
"Oh." Lv Zhi's expression seemed rather regretful.
Lu Zhi's gaze lingered on the child for a moment, then he suddenly touched the corner of his lips and murmured, "This child... his spiritual energy fluctuations are so strong."
No wonder Dang Hongyuan and the others were so comfortable letting this child come to such a dangerous place.
"What did you say?" The passenger didn't hear the whole thing when he whispered.
"I'll tell you when we get back." Lu Zhi took his hand and kissed it, looking at him with concern as he asked, "How are you feeling? Is there anything still aching? Has your mental state been affected?"
Now that the conversation was back on track, Sui Cheng gripped his hand tightly, her gaze both meaningful and worried.
Lu Zhi knew what he wanted to say, and shook his head slightly, saying, "It's alright."
“Mr. Lü Zhi is far from unharmed.” After Yang Xie and his family of three finished catching up, Dang Hongyuan reverted to his businesslike demeanor and said in a deep voice, “When Long Zhan and the others arrived, everyone on the ship was unconscious. Except for Mr. Lü Zhi, everyone else was knocked unconscious by the mental force.”
Sui Cheng's hand clenched, his eyes trembling, as he looked at Lu Zhi and asked, "How are you feeling right now?"
"At least it's a self-healing type, so relax." Lu Zhi gently stroked his ear and temple, but looked at Dang Hongyuan with a cold and warning look.
That person is such a chatterbox!
"It's nothing serious, except that after he woke up, he was vomiting blood so much that the doctors thought he needed a blood transfusion," Dang Hongyuan said calmly.
Lu Zhi was furious. He licked his teeth and sneered, "It's just spitting out blood. Is it really necessary for the Party to hold a grudge about it forever?"
"I really want to know what exactly happened to you on the ship."
Yang Xie could tell from Dang Hongyuan's tone that he was suppressing his anger, so he grabbed his hand, rubbed it, and said, "I encountered a psychic superhuman."
Dang Hongyuan frowned and said, "But Long Zhan said they didn't see any superhumans when they arrived."
The passenger calmly replied, "We were all unconscious at the time and didn't know what had happened."
Dang Hongyuan looked at the lawyer and asked, "And what about Mr. Lawyer?"
“I don’t know either.” Lu Zhi shrugged and waved his hand. “I was seriously injured at the time. I barely managed to save Captain Sui, and then I lost consciousness.”
You couldn't tell from his expression whether he was lying or not.
Yang Xie coughed lightly and said, "Those mutants were controlled by the mind controllers at the experimental base. Perhaps one of the mutants broke free from the mind control...?"
Dang Hongyuan gave him a strange look. Wasn't Yang Xie also doubting Lü Zhi? Now he was actually speaking up for him?
"Ah Yuan, we also brought back someone from the experimental base. Is he still there?" Yang Xie was worried that the person might have escaped while they were unconscious.
Dang Hongyuan said, "He was found unconscious. He is currently being held in solitary confinement. We will question him again once he has recovered."
"As long as he didn't run away, that's good. There's something strange about that kid." Yang Xie hugged his son in his arms and found that the boy was quietly lying in his arms, staring intently at Lu Zhi.
"Dang Xiangyang, what are you looking at?" Yang Xie asked him.
Dang Xiangyang, the little boy, snapped out of his daze, blinked innocently, and said, "I wasn't looking at anything."
This kid is lying.
Yang Xie was, after all, his father. How could he not see through it? He narrowed his eyes, glanced at Dang Hongyuan, and told him to ask the kid about it later.
Because Yangxie and Suicheng replied quickly, they did one last check and returned to their respective dormitories.
"They still haven't dispelled their suspicions about you," Sui Cheng said in a deep voice as soon as the door closed.
As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Zhi bent down, put his arm around his waist, and picked him up, saying casually, "Go take a shower first."
Sui Cheng: "Hmm?"
Lu Zhi gave him a quick kiss on the lips and chuckled, "Let me check if there's any residual spiritual energy."
"Excuse."
