Chapter 162 Energy
6:00 AM on July 10th.
Lu Zhi sensed the energy fluctuations in the air and awoke from his light sleep.
She sat with her back to him, holding Wenwen in her arms.
The little monster's tail drooped by the bedside, and it looked like it was sleeping soundly.
Lu Zhi frowned in disgust, grabbed Wenwen by the neck, pulled him out of Suicheng's arms, and threw him onto the soft carpet.
Wenwen opened her eyes briefly, as if she had been used to it for a long time. She obediently curled up in a comfortable position on the carpet, wrapping herself up with her tail.
Lu Zhi rolled over while holding Sui Cheng, and kissed him intermittently on the neck, waking him up.
"Smack!"
After being slapped, he not only didn't behave, but became even more outrageous.
"Law Enforcer!" The attendant opened his eyes and warned him coldly.
“Something’s happened outside.” Before he could get angry, Lu Zhi changed the subject, biting him on the back of the neck, then sat up, pulling his attendant up as well, and said in a deep voice, “The energy in the air has changed.”
The passenger immediately perked up.
The third major anomaly just ended yesterday; apart from the sudden natural disaster, nothing else happened.
But the law master said that the energy has changed today.
While using his supernatural abilities to sense the energy in the air, he pressed, "What's going on?"
“This time, the energy isn’t increasing or decreasing; it’s just that there are some other factors involved.” Lu Zhi spread his hands. His ability to absorb supernatural powers automatically absorbs energy without anyone noticing, so he can easily detect any changes in the energy.
A tender green vine appeared in my palm.
Sui Cheng touched the green leaf with his finger and noticed that the veins on the leaf seemed to have changed.
"What's going on?" Sui Cheng plucked a leaf and showed it to Lu Zhi. The veins, which were originally dark green, had turned light gold.
“It’s related to the current energy.” Lu Zhi manipulated the vines to wrap around Sui Cheng’s hand, his gaze falling on Sui Cheng’s slightly parted lips, unable to resist wanting to get closer.
Sui Cheng was still lost in thought and didn't notice his gaze. She pursed her lips and asked, "Is this energy harmful to the human body?"
"No, it actually surprises me a bit." Lu Zhi hugged Sui Cheng's waist and bit his lips.
The passenger pushed him away, looking disgusted, and said, "You didn't brush your teeth."
Lu Zhi pouted and rubbed against his neck unwillingly.
He got up to wash up, and his attendant followed, picking up Wenwen from the carpet and placing her on the bed.
"You haven't finished yet?" Sui Cheng followed him inside and took the toothbrush from Lu Zhi, who had already squeezed toothpaste onto it.
The law enforcement officer stood at the back, letting the passenger stand in front of him, and then naturally reached out and closed the toilet door.
"I only have some guesses, I'm not sure. If the lab works harder, we should be able to find it in the next couple of days." After rinsing his mouth, Lu Zhi's gaze never left Sui Cheng's face.
The attendant wasn't blind; he spat out a mouthful of foam and asked, "What's your guess?"
Lu Zhi watched him finish rinsing his mouth, then turned him around, put his hands on his waist, and lifted him onto the sink. He rubbed his chin against Lu Zhi's and said, "It's similar to the effect of a crystal core. If this energy can continue, neither humans nor aliens will need to rely on aliens to improve their strength."
Sui Cheng turned her head away, dodging his kiss as if on purpose, "Then I'll go to the lab today, since I need to take Wenwen for a checkup anyway."
"His powers have stabilized."
That's right, a month ago, Wenwen's special ability was activated—it was spatial manipulation.
When he learned it was a spatial dimension, Lü Zhi scoffed, genuinely suspecting that Wenwen possessed Cecil's genes, otherwise how could she have the same superpower as him?
As for the crystal core that Wenwen ate, it should have been extracted from the body of a mutant with special abilities, making it extremely rare.
Sui Cheng grabbed his fidgeting hand and pulled it out from under his clothes.
"Hmm?" Lu Zhi kissed his neck and said in a muffled voice, "Let me touch it. I haven't had it for days, I'm so hungry."
"Wenwen is still outside," the attendant whispered.
"Who cares? The door's already closed. Just keep your voice down." Lu Zhi wasn't about to let the prize slip away.
He pressed his fingers together, digging them in slightly, and the vines on his wrist trembled excitedly, as if they had been waiting for a long time.
"Be gentle."
Sui Cheng hugged his neck and shrank back slightly.
"Yes, sir." Lu Zhi pinched his calf and placed it on his shoulder.
An hour and a half had passed by the time they came out.
Wenwen had already curled up under the covers, enveloped by the lingering scent of the bed, and was sleeping soundly.
Lu Zhi tugged at the blanket and shook it. Caught off guard, he was flung away. He thought he would fall to the ground, but a hand grabbed him firmly.
"Little thing, how many times have I told you, you're not allowed to use your superpowers to sneak into the bedroom."
It's one thing for her to go into the bedroom, but every time she does, she snuggles into the arms of her attendant.
She steadily swung her tail, patted Lu Zhi's hand, and said obediently, "It's comfortable in Daddy's arms."
"No matter how comfortable it is, you can't lie down there. That's mine!" Lu Zhi had lost count of how many times he had asserted his ownership.
"How annoying!" Wenwen pouted and said in a childish voice, "Father always bullies Daddy!"
He heard it too; his father even cried.
The lawyer, with his thick skin, said without batting an eye, "This isn't bullying. Can you please stop eavesdropping?"
He walked to the bedroom door, opened it, and tossed Wenwen out, saying indifferently, "Let your aunt take you out to play. Don't bother us, understand?"
Just as Wenwen was about to shake his head, he saw a ball of light green energy floating in front of him.
He couldn't help but swallow hard, wanting to grab it, but the energy ball dodged him.
"If you want to eat, then listen to me." The law enforcement officer sounded like a wicked uncle who had kidnapped a child.
"Okay." Wenwen nodded hurriedly, hugged the energy ball, and staggered towards the living room. He then climbed onto the sofa and sat down to enjoy his breakfast.
"You're bullying him again." Sui Cheng's voice came from behind, slightly alluring and husky.
Lu Zhi quickly turned around, a bright smile spreading across his face, and defended himself, saying, "How did I bully him?"
"Before deciding to adopt Wenwen, you bullied him quite a bit."
When Wenwen first came to this family, it was said to be temporary foster care, but as time went by, they still developed some affection for Wenwen.
Although Lu Zhi didn't say it, it was clear that he was unwilling to give Wenwen away.
After all, it's a child you raised yourself. If they were in someone else's hands, who knows what kind of suffering they would endure.
Suicheng noticed this and offered to adopt Wenwen.
The lawyer also reluctantly agreed.
Of course, to avoid being proven wrong, he emphasized that he agreed because his companion wanted to support him.
Suicheng found his stubborn yet soft-hearted demeanor adorable and couldn't resist giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Of course, the consequence of taking the initiative was that I was taken advantage of by the law enforcement officer again and again, and I almost couldn't get out of bed for a whole day.
