Chapter 168 Tortured into Ten Pieces
Yu Shuang's first thought was to run, but in front of Lu Zhi, there was no way he could escape.
The executioner killed everyone except him.
Yu Shuang breathed a slight sigh of relief. At least this proved that he was still useful to them and could at least ensure their safety for a period of time.
The vines stood before Shuang, and Lu Zhi's voice rang out: "It seems you know you're still useful to us."
"I'm already a prisoner. As long as you spare my life, I'll do anything you want," Yu Shuang said spinelessly, but a glint of cunning in his eyes betrayed his true intentions.
Lu Zhi chuckled and wrapped the vines around Yu Shuang, who offered no resistance whatsoever.
Yu Shuang was left lying in a pool of blood, surrounded by the corpses of his teammates and subordinates. His superpowers were suppressed by the energy on the vines. He didn't know what the alien was going to do, so he could only wait quietly.
A short while later, the sound of a vehicle approaching came from a distance. A modified SUV stopped not far from him, and judging from the license plate, it was confirmed to be a vehicle from the base.
Yu Shuang didn't feel relieved at all; instead, she felt a little heavy-hearted. It was simply unbelievable that the alien species with the ability to devour was actually helping the China base.
Now, upon closer reflection, Yu Shuang realized how much of the information Wei Lesheng had given them before they set off was unreliable. If he could return alive, he would make Wei Lesheng wish he were dead!
"Hey, still alive?" Lu Zhi walked up to Yu Shuang and kicked her without hesitation.
Yu Shuang rolled over to avoid his second kick, and said casually, "Of course I'm still alive."
He looked up and sized up the group of people in front of him: a tall, strikingly handsome young man; a stern-looking man holding a child with devil horns and a tail; and a young girl beside him.
Judging from the voice, the one at the very front is the owner of the vines.
This strange team was actually composed of two humans and two alien species.
Yu Shuang was very curious about how they got together.
"What are you looking at?"
Seeing that his gaze remained fixed on the passenger, Lu Zhi's tone was somewhat cold, as if he wished he could gouge out his eyes.
"Are you that ivy?" Yu Shuang directly revealed his identity.
Lu Zhi scoffed, "What's wrong? Don't you believe me?"
As he spoke, he snapped his fingers, and the vines on Yu Shuang's body tightened, making it difficult for him to breathe.
He calmed his breathing and said in a trembling voice, "No, I'm just curious. How could you, as a different species, join forces with humans?"
“Of course it’s because of love.” Lu Zhi winked at his attendant.
Their little interaction naturally did not escape Yu Shuang's notice.
A look of disbelief flashed across Yu Shuang's face, then she fell into an eerie silence.
The officer lifted him up from the ground, a "kind" smile on his face, and said, "I have some questions for you. If you want to live, you'd better behave yourself."
Yu Shuang, of course, wanted to live, so she nodded.
It was too chaotic here, so Lu Zhi dragged him to their camp, which was still relatively intact for the time being, and kicked away the corpses at the door.
The attendant followed behind them.
"Wenwen, get down by yourself, stop bothering your dad." Lu Zhi couldn't help but bulge the veins on his forehead as he watched Wenwen clinging to Suicheng's neck. He pulled the little rascal out of Suicheng's arms and threw him to Suiling.
Yu Shuang was completely stunned when she heard his words.
He glanced at Suicheng, then at Luzhi, and then at Wenwen in Suiling's arms. He couldn't hold back any longer and asked, "How...how did you have this child?"
The lawyer raised an eyebrow and said, "What? Envious?"
Yu Shuang's expression turned somewhat ugly; he would rather die than associate with a different species.
He probably guessed the identity of the person accompanying him and mentally added another mark against Wei Lesheng.
Even though Sui Cheng hasn't revealed his strength yet, he can tell that this person is very strong, at least beyond his ability to deal with.
"Just a simple question: what are you planning to do in China?" Sui Cheng squatted down in front of Yu Shuang and asked him directly.
"What else could it be?" Yu Shuang gave a wry smile, seemingly genuine, and said, "It's for territory. You have no idea how chaotic things are abroad right now."
Lu Zhi glanced at the corpses outside and sneered disdainfully, "You think you can occupy a territory on this land with just this few people? Are you overestimating yourself or underestimating the Chinese people?"
Yu Shuang sighed and said, "We knew it was useless, so our original plan was to disguise ourselves as Chinese, infiltrate the base, and then contact the people outside."
"Spies, huh? You're quite the player," Lawyer scoffed. "But your plan is far too unreliable. If it were me, I'd infiltrate Chinese territory silently, find a lone group, and wipe them out..."
"Ahem." Sui Cheng coughed lightly twice as a warning.
Lu Zhi quickly shut his mouth, no longer daring to be reckless.
Yu Shuang said, "Weren't we scammed too?"
After becoming a prisoner, he became much more honest, and his entire being conveyed the message that he only wanted to survive.
"Wei Lesheng?" the attendant said.
Yu Shuang nodded angrily and said, "It's this bastard."
"Why don't you tell me in detail what outrageous things he's done?" the attendant asked.
When this is mentioned, Yu Shuang has endless complaints and curses to say. She has basically been cursed by Wei Lesheng's entire family, who are practically ready to dig her out of her grave.
"Damn it, if I ever get back alive, I'll tear him to pieces!"
