Chapter 28 The Aesthetics of Violence

“What kind of monster is this…” The man in the suit looked at the magical scene in front of him in panic, wondering if he had been trapped for too long and was hallucinating because of hunger.

"It's like playing Mowing Warriors..."

The young man clung to the door, his eyes fixed on the scene. The originally bloody and horrific scene instantly transformed into the most primitive violent aesthetics. With every move, he tore through flesh and took lives. It was so damn cool!

The boy, who had been depressed after seeing a familiar person being dismembered by a monster and having his face covered in bloody internal organs, became excited again.

Fortunately, although he was full of passion, he didn't lose his mind. He looked at Xu Yan expectantly: "Squad leader! Let's go too!"

Xu Yan clenched her fists and nodded vigorously. "It doesn't make sense for Lan Zhou to fight alone in the front while we watch from behind. Let's go too! Pay attention to the formation, don't be alone, and don't rush to the front!"

With the previous experience of being torn in half and left with their intestines spread out in front of them, naturally no one was stupid enough to want to fight alone. They nodded and raised their weapons.

"Hey! You? Me? Ah this!" The man in the suit looked at the people walking past him at a loss. Only then did he realize that most of these people were teenagers with young faces, and there were quite a few girls among them.

Xu Yan threw a small bag to him: "Here, there is some food and water in it. After you finish eating, absorb this crystal core. The rest..."

She pondered for a moment, considering the man in front of her had little combat experience, and said, "Do as you please, just don't hold us back."

The man lowered his head and opened the bag. Seeing that it was food, he hurriedly tore open a bag of bread and stuffed it into his mouth, making an indistinct sound: "Don't look down on me! I also hid here because I killed a zombie! Speaking of which, I'm the first time I know what's in those monsters' brains..."

His eyes were dim. He had a colleague who had come with him to hide, but he had been bitten by a zombie during the fight and had mutated not long after. Now he was tied up and locked in the toilet.

At this time, Xu Yan had already rushed forward with his men.

Shen Lanzhou glanced at them, his eyes showing the approval of an old father, and moved aside to let a flying zombie pass.

“Gah!!!”

The flying zombie is really scary when observed up close. It has no eyes, but instead has a huge and disgusting tumor with worm-like blood vessels throbbing and twitching on it. It looks skinny and hideous, and a pair of huge, tattered bat wings flap, creating gusts of wind.

Xu Yan picked up the holy sword of physics - the crowbar to block the zombies' attack, attracting the greatest hatred, while others assisted from the side and took the opportunity to chop at random.

Shen Lanzhou's calm voice echoed beside his ears: "This type of flying zombie is very troublesome when flying in the sky, because humans can't fly and can't effectively harm them. But in a cramped indoor environment, it's different. Unable to fly, they have neither great strength nor swift speed. All we have to do is tear off the wings that get in the way and then chop off their heads."

As he spoke, Shen Lanzhou demonstrated it himself.

The girl casually handed over the headless corpse and smiled at her friends: "Have you learned it?"

Xu Yan nodded with a wooden face, her studies were wasted, her studies were wasted.

Zombies continued to pour in from the bank's dilapidated entrance, the corpses in the bank hall piled up more and more, and the situation became strangely deadlocked.

The fighters in the rear gradually lost strength, while the girl in the front seemed to possess boundless strength, continuing to calmly slaughter the zombies that charged at her. The only difference was that her grin widened, her body bathed in a thick cloud of blood, and she exuded a morbid aura of pleasure.

She was truly happy now. Liang Shimeng's capture had been a profound blow to her. She suddenly realized that even at this unattainable height, her reborn self, possessing a system, was still a useless piece of shit. Now, only the accumulated experience points and levels could ease her heavy heart.

"Hoo...Hoo..." Xu Yan gasped for breath, her clothes nearly soaked with sweat. In battle, she was always at the front of the team, bearing the greatest pressure and consuming the most energy. Her arm, recently scratched by a mutant cat, ached faintly, and the fighting became increasingly strained.

"It's twelve o'clock." Shen Lanzhou said suddenly.

"What?"

Before everyone realized the meaning of the girl's words, she stopped fighting and allowed the hideous zombies to pounce on her.

Soon, the fearless girl was overwhelmed by the endless tide of corpses.

"Ahhhh!!! Sister!!!" Shen Xiaoqian screamed at the top of her lungs.

“!!!”

The sudden change shocked everyone. For a moment, facing the collapse of the defense line after losing Shen Lanzhou, they were overwhelmed by the swarm of zombies that came like a tide.

"What are you standing there for?! Fight!!!" The bearded middle-aged man roared, and with the homemade iron knife in his hand, he killed the zombie that was rushing towards his companion.

His words woke Xu Yan up. The girl kicked the zombie in front of her away with all her might and roared hoarsely, "Retreat! Retreat behind the security door!!!"

Unfortunately, she reacted too late. The tide of zombies was already right in front of her, and there was no time to retreat!

There are zombies everywhere, no where to hide!

Soon, she was tackled by several zombies. These blood-thirsty monsters opened their foul-smelling mouths and attacked her, biting her.

“!!!”

Xu Yan closed her eyes in despair, she was doomed.

The expected bite and pain didn't arrive, but a large puddle of foul, smelly blood poured all over her head. She opened her eyes in disbelief and saw Shen Lanzhou squatting beside her head, smiling: "6 points."

As he spoke, Shen Lanzhou pointed at the bearded uncle who was also covered in blood: "7 points."

Then, she pointed at the others, including her sister: "1 point, not fainted from shock, not the worst."

The man's arms trembled as he pulled out a cigarette and placed it between his lips, unlit. He smiled wryly and said, "Looks like my score was pretty high."

The once bustling bank fell into an eerie silence. He looked around, the ground littered with shattered zombie remains. The sight of the monster he had tackled a second ago reduced to a pile of broken pieces in the blink of an eye was truly horrifying.

When? How? A series of questions flashed through my mind, and were eventually overwhelmed by the relief of escaping death.

"Percentage."

"Well……"

Shen Lanzhou stood up straight and shook off his heavy coat and trousers that had become heavy from absorbing the zombies' dirty blood. "It's time for lunch. Let's have lunch first, and then we can chat slowly."

This time their destination was the large commercial supermarket that was originally the nest of flying zombies.
