Chapter 119 Fighting for a home that shelters us from the wind and rain!

Jiang Chan originally planned to cause more trouble for the Li family, but the countdown had ended, and she could only regretfully leave that world...

Consciousness returned, and the body once again felt the warm air by the river.

Jiang Chan walked to the edge of the wasteland, away from the crowd, and her thoughts stirred slightly.

Buzz!

A uniquely shaped, rugged "iron bull" covered in metal armor appeared before our eyes.

It has a wide tracked chassis, a menacing plough at the front, and a sophisticated seeding device at the rear.

Intelligent land clearing and sowing machine!

With a deep roar of the engine, the metal "Iron Bull" awoke like a sleeping behemoth and appeared out of nowhere on the overgrown land!

The tracks pressed down on the withered grass, and the plowshare gleamed with a cold light.

Jiang Chan took out the user-friendly control panel that came with the machine. She set the target area, depth, seeding parameters… and confirmed to start!

The "Iron Bull" suddenly lunged forward! The sharp plowshare plunged deep into the dry, hard earth as if slicing through tofu! The tough grass roots and tangled shrub roots were torn apart and turned over like paper by the powerful mechanical force!

The fresh, dark brown soil was turned up, exuding the unique scent of earth! The tracks moved steadily forward, and wherever they passed, the hard, compacted wasteland was transformed as if by magic into soft, flat fields with distinct furrows!

The efficiency is frighteningly high!

"My God!"

"Iron... Iron Ox! The Fairy Maiden has summoned the divine ox again!"

"Look! The ground! The ground has flipped over!"

The crowd at the edge of the wasteland instantly erupted in chaos! Those who had just been worrying about clearing the land now had their eyes practically popping out of their sockets!

Watching that roaring metal monster devour the weeds and clear fertile fields at a visible speed, the immense shock and ecstasy made them forget their fear, leaving only awe-inspiring exclamations!

Chen Yan supported Zhou Shi, looking at the inhumanly efficient mechanical creation, and then at Jiang Chan's calm profile in the distance, feeling a huge sense of absurdity welling up in his heart.

This woman… the things she summoned were more and more beyond imagination! In less than an hour! Two whole acres of wasteland were completely reclaimed!

The soil exudes vitality under the sunlight.

Jiang Chan stopped the machine, walked to the edge of the newly reclaimed land, grabbed a handful of soil, and nodded.

The soil quality is not bad.

She took out the half-bag of drought-resistant seeds from her storage space and, following the germination method in the previous planting instructions, soaked the seeds, drained the water, and covered them with a damp cloth...

She called to the old woodcutter, whose eyes were wide with amazement, "Watch closely, do as I say, keep it moist, and sow the seeds once the sprouts appear."

"Hey! Hey! Don't worry, fairy! This old man will definitely keep a close eye on things!" The old woodcutter was so excited that his beard was trembling.

There is hope for clearing land and planting crops, but the immediate housing problem remains severe.

Jiang Chan led the group toward the ruins of the abandoned village. Broken walls and charred beams lay scattered about. A few relatively intact earthen walls, about half a person's height, and dilapidated house frames, half-collapsed and barely offering shelter from the wind and rain, could be found.

“We’ll make do with sleeping under these broken walls tonight,” Jiang Chan said, pointing to the relatively intact corners. “Starting tomorrow, we’ll clear the rubble, find usable materials, and repair or rebuild the house.”

The crowd looked at the mess with bewildered expressions.

"Girl... how... how do we fix this?" A man kicked a piece of charred wood at his feet. "The wood is burnt to a crisp; it'll crumble at the slightest touch..."

“Yes, Fairy, most of the mud wall has collapsed, and the remaining adobe bricks are loose... There’s no new soil, no wood, no tiles…” another woman said with a worried expression.

“I…I used to work as a laborer and I know a little about masonry, but…but I have nothing, so it’s all for nothing…” a relatively quiet middle-aged man said softly.

Tools! Materials! Still those two things!

Jiang Chan looked at the ruins, her brows furrowed. The space contained food, meat, water, seeds, and even land reclamation machinery, but there were no building materials! Bricks, tiles, timber, rammed earth tools… who would hoard such heavy and space-consuming items in a post-apocalyptic world?

She walked to a half-collapsed earthen wall, pretending to inspect it, but actually her mind sank into the space.

Piles of grain... mountains of meat... water tanks... water purifiers... and a bunch of odds and ends... a small layer of rice and flour has visibly disappeared! For a dozen or so people, even with only one meal a day, the rate of consumption far exceeds expectations!

Although the space was vast, the feeling of running out of resources made her instinctively anxious. Meat... would be consumed more slowly, but with so many people sharing it, she couldn't keep up with adding a little bit to the porridge every day.

Frustrated, she kicked away a piece of broken tile. Was she really going to lead this group back to cut down trees, dig soil, and fire a kiln? That would take forever! It was far too inefficient!

no!

We must get ready-made or efficient building materials and tools as soon as possible! She suddenly raised her head, her gaze sweeping across the crowd with intense intensity, finally settling on Chen Yan.

"Chen Yan!" Jiang Chan called out, her tone deliberately impatient. "Come and take a look! How are we supposed to repair this dilapidated house? There's no wood, no tiles, no tools! Are we supposed to dig and build the walls by hand?"

Chen Yan was startled by her call, put down the rubble he was clearing, and walked over.

He looked at Jiang Chan pointing to the dilapidated wall and said, "It is indeed troublesome."

Chen Yan spoke frankly, his brows furrowing, "Even a skilled cook can't make a meal without rice. Without ingredients, skill alone won't suffice." He pointed to the distressed-looking bricklayer Wang beside him.

"Yeah! It's so troublesome!" Jiang Chan's voice rose, as if venting her dissatisfaction, or perhaps speaking to some unseen being. "This wretched place has nothing! We can't just conjure up houses, can we? If only we had ready-made wood, tiles, or... or tools to build houses quickly!"
