Boiling wormwood water: Every few days, I would cut wormwood and boil it to make a pungent-smelling infusion, which I would then carefully apply to the leaves to repel insects. The effect was visible to the naked eye; the areas where it was applied were indeed much less infested with aphids.
Setting up a small experimental plot: After waiting for about half a month, the compost in the pit finally turned black, like rotten soil, and the stench was much milder, even with a bit of a muddy smell.
Jiang Chan knew that it was partially decomposed! Excitedly, she scooped some out with a small basket, marked out a small area near the corner of the medicinal herb field, mixed this dark "garbage" into the compacted yellow sand, and then transplanted a few ordinary Dewdrop Grass seedlings there.
Observation record: She went to see the experimental field and the selected seedlings every day.
Change happens quietly.
A few days later, the selected seedlings that had been treated with wormwood water had greener leaves and were noticeably more vigorous. Those that hadn't been treated remained sickly.
A few days later, the ordinary seedlings transplanted into the small experimental plot mixed with compost actually recovered! Their leaves unfurled, and their color was no longer the pale yellow of malnutrition, but a healthy tender green!
Although it can't compare to the superior seedlings, it's far superior to the ordinary dew grass next to it that grows naturally in yellow sandy soil and has withered and yellow leaves!
hope!
A burning flame of hope suddenly ignited within Jiang Chan's exhausted body! It made her palms tingle and her eyes shine!
Knowledge! Knowledge truly is power! Even without spiritual energy or magic, she can bring this barren land back to life!
She looked at the increasingly vigorous selected seedlings, especially one of them. It was located on the side, but it was growing exceptionally well, with a stem a bit thicker than the others, and thick, green leaves that looked vibrant in the sunlight.
One morning, before the dew had completely dried, Jiang Chan, as usual, went to check on her precious seedlings.
When she reached the best, selected seedling, she suddenly stopped in her tracks and even paused for a moment!
At the very top of that seedling, nestled among thick leaves, a tender green, plump little flower bud had emerged! The tip had already cracked open slightly, and one could vaguely see the pale blue petals inside!
It's blooming!
It actually bloomed ahead of schedule!
This selected seedling indeed has a vitality that far surpasses the others!
