Chapter 139: Greenery Sprouts and the Obsession with the Well!

Consciousness returns, carrying with it the dust and weariness of the mission world.

Jiang Chan immediately checked the corners of the system space—

A set of neatly folded, uniquely made transparent panels and a large number of precision components float silently.

It's done!

Without taking a break, she immediately went to the edge of the field, away from the crowd.

The mind locks onto the greenhouse components.

Buzz!

After a strange fluctuation, a large pile of lightweight alloy frames and huge transparent panels appeared out of thin air at the edge of the ten acres of land that had just been cultivated and planted with "abundance" seeds!

"Come here, everyone!" Jiang Chan called to the crowd.

The crowd, already used to seeing this pile of "divine building materials," gathered around it with a mixture of numbness and awe.

"Stand these frames up along the edge of the field! Cover them with boards! Align the slots! Tighten the bolts!" Jiang Chan pointed at the materials and gave concise instructions.

With the experience gained from building houses before, the crowd, though still clumsy, became much more efficient.

The clanging of metal rang out again. The alloy frame, like the ribs of a dragon, quickly rose up around the field.

The massive transparent panel was lifted by combined force and precisely embedded into the pre-reserved slots in the frame, fitting perfectly! The bolts were tightened! As if by magic, an enormous transparent "crystal palace" covering an entire ten acres of land rose from the ground before everyone's eyes!

Sunlight shines evenly and softly onto the black earth through the high-strength composite material roof, shielding it from the scorching heat and sandstorms of the outside world.

Finally, Jiang Chan directed the connection of the water purifier's outlet to the pre-installed interface inside the greenhouse via a temporary pipe.

Buzz!

A soft hum of machinery filled the greenhouse. The pre-set drip irrigation/sprinkler system had started! Fine mist, like spring rain, sprayed evenly onto every inch of soil! The temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse instantly stabilized within a comfortable and pleasant range!

"A shrine! It really is a shrine!"

"This...this..."

As Old Man Sun touched the cool, smooth wall of the shed, he was so moved that tears streamed down his face, and he became incoherent.

Even Chen Yan was completely speechless. He looked up at the enormous thing that covered ten acres of fertile land and felt the air inside the shed instantly become comfortable and humid. He was overwhelmed with shock!

This was completely beyond his understanding of "power" and "possibility"! Looking at Jiang Chan's calm figure giving orders, he felt as if she were standing on a cloud, looking down on them, a group of mortals.

Jiang Chan ignored the crowd's astonishment. She walked into the greenhouse, feeling the moist, soft soil beneath her feet, and watching the water mist refract into tiny rainbows in the sunlight. Her tense nerves finally relaxed.

With this greenhouse, the chances of seeds germinating have greatly increased! And for now, we don't have to worry about water either!

Days passed in waiting. With the constant temperature and humidity of the intelligent greenhouse and the precise irrigation of the drip system, although the fields were still barren, Jiang Chan's anxiety had lessened considerably.

She still went into the shed to check on things every day, but no longer obsessively guarded it like before. On the morning of the tenth day, just as dawn was breaking.

"It's sprouting! It's sprouting! Fairy! It's sprouting!!!"

A roar so excited it shattered the silence of the wilderness! It was Erniu, the young man responsible for checking the fields at dawn!

The roar was like a thunderclap! The people inside the iron house were instantly awakened! Jiang Chan was the first to rush out, almost losing her shoes in the process!

Chen Yan, Zhou Shi, Xiao Tao... everyone! They scrambled and stumbled towards the huge, transparent greenhouse!

A warm, moist air, carrying the fragrance of earth and the scent of new life, wafted towards me!

Then, everyone froze at the doorway as if struck by a spell! As far as the eye could see, the dark, fertile land was covered with a fine, tender green layer!

Countless delicate, silk-like buds stubbornly broke through the moist soil, stretching out two small, pale yellow cotyledons. Under the soft light shining through the roof, they trembled slightly, as if laying a thin, vibrant green carpet on the earth!

"Abundant and fast-growing" vegetable seeds! The first to sprout!

"Ah! It really is! It's really sprouted!" Xiao Tao was the first to react. She broke free from Jiang Chan's hand, cheered, and rushed into the paddy field. She carefully squatted down, reaching out her little finger to touch it but hesitating to do so. "Sister Jiang! Look! Little green sprouts!"

"Heavens have opened their eyes! The fairy has appeared!" Old Sun knelt down on the damp field ridge with a thud, tears streaming down his face as he looked at the tender shoots covering the ground and the greenhouse roof! He had farmed all his life and had never seen such neat and hopeful seedlings!

"He's alive! He's really alive!"

"We're saved!"

"That's great! That's really great!"

The crowd erupted in deafening cheers and shouts! The long-suppressed despair and numbness were completely overwhelmed at this moment by the sight of green representing life!

Many people hugged their heads and wept, laughing and crying at the same time!

Chen Yan leaned against the doorframe, gazing at the vibrant green wonder before him, then looked at Jiang Chan standing at the doorway, bathed in the morning light. Sunlight streamed through the roof, casting a hazy glow around her.

At this moment, in his eyes, she was no longer the mysterious and powerful "fairy," but more like... a goddess who brought life and hope.

Jiang Chan stood there, looking at the tender green on the ground, and listening to the deafening cheers and cries around her. The heavy stone in her heart finally fell to the ground!

An indescribable joy and sense of accomplishment instantly overwhelmed her. In the five years since the apocalypse, she had seen mountains of corpses and seas of blood, but she had never personally nurtured such a vibrant hope!

"Today..." Jiang Chan took a deep breath, suppressing her turbulent emotions. Her voice wasn't loud, but it clearly reached everyone's ears, "Extra meal! Three pounds of meat! Plenty!"
