Chapter 143 A Decaying Feast and the Pollution of Silence!

My vision started to blur.

Consciousness seemed to float in a cold void.

She could only vaguely see the extracted heart being placed by a robotic arm into a specially designed, transparent container that emitted a soft, cold blue light. The container lid closed silently, and a pale green preservation solution instantly filled the container, immersing the slightly pulsating poisoned heart within.

The container was sealed and labeled with a prominent tag: "Gardener S - Heart - Highest Priority - Gamma-7".

The robotic arm picked up the faintly glowing container and silently slid away along the track, disappearing into the depths of the metal room.

Immediately afterwards, another, much bulkier-looking robotic arm slid over. Its cold claws roughly reached into the jar, grabbing Jiang Chan's limp arms and legs, and dragged her out of the glass jar like a heavy bag of garbage!

The icy air instantly enveloped my entire body.

Her bare skin touched the rough metal floor, sending a chill down her spine. She was dragged through the cold, empty room toward a conveyor belt entrance in a corner.

There, several "discarded containers," just as limp and lifeless as she was, lay piled up. Some were incomplete, some still had tubes inserted, like a pile of discarded, broken dolls.

Next to the conveyor belt, there is a huge entrance with a flashing red light and a black skull sign that reads: "Bio-waste Disposal".

She was thrown into a pile of discarded containers. Her body collided with another cold body, and she felt nothing.

Buzz—!

The conveyor belt started, moving slowly toward the black entrance marked with a skull, accompanied by a low hum.

My vision was completely plunged into darkness.

Only in his ears could he hear the faint humming sound of containers being sealed and transported in the distance.

And then there was the cold, repetitive final announcement: "...'Gardener S's' dedicated organ has been dispatched. Highest priority escort. The area is entering 'Clean Day' preparation for quarantine..."

black.

Utterly black.

There was no light, no color. Only a heavy, solidified darkness enveloped Jiang Chan's fragmented consciousness.

The green slime in the life support tank, the distorted glass walls, the flickering lights of the instruments… all gone. Her heart, along with everything else, had been removed.

The last vestiges of activity in her brain were now maintained by a few thinner, colder tubes, inserted directly into her spine and skull, delivering a minimal supply of nutrients and oxygen. This connection, fragile as a spider's thread, barely clung to her consciousness, preventing her from immediately plunging into utter nothingness.

She can't feel her body.

Or rather, her body, below the chest, still had most of its organs, but without the power of her heart, was like a pile of broken machines with disassembled parts, cold and numbly stacked in some corner of the waste disposal preparation area.

What she could "feel" was a heavy, crushing sensation. There must have been other "discarded containers" piled up around her like garbage.

The air was filled with the strong smell of disinfectant, a faint smell of chemicals, and... an indescribable stench of decay that came from the complete decay of a living organism.

quiet.

A deathly silence.

Only the faint whispers of consciousness within his own mind and the extremely faint hissing sound of fluid flowing through the tubes along his spine could be heard. The distant hum of perpetually running machines and the gliding of robotic arms were completely shut out. This place felt like a junkyard at a harvest festival, a forgotten corner.

Time loses its meaning here.

Was it a few hours? Or a few days?

In this suffocating darkness and silence, deep within Jiang Chan's consciousness, a system notification suddenly sounded, carrying a subtle, almost imperceptible fluctuation:

[Segment of encrypted external medical data stream captured... parsing in progress...]

[Keywords: Gardener S…7th day post-surgery…Sudden onset of symptoms…Severe chest pain…Purple-black reticular skin…Tissue liquefaction and necrosis…Unknown cause…Rejection test: Negative…Emergency plan activated…Highest level of confidentiality…]

Buzz—!

Jiang Chan's remaining consciousness suddenly tightened!

Day 7!

Gardener S!

The skin has a purplish-black reticular pattern! Tissue liquefaction and necrosis!

It's done!

The sweet poison has taken effect!

A chilling, bone-deep pleasure instantly washed away the deathly stillness brought by the darkness! The high and mighty "Gardener S," the predator who was enjoying her heart, was now savoring the death she had meticulously prepared!

Negative rejection reaction? Of course it's negative! This isn't rejection; it's a breakdown and decay starting at the genetic level! It's the perfect revenge the system has crafted for her!

She could almost picture the scene: in a luxurious hospital room, the wealthy man stared in horror at the skin on his chest that looked as if it had been soaked in ink, watching his healthy muscle tissue melt and collapse like ice cream under the scorching sun... howling in pain, and then turning into a puddle of mud that smelled sweet and foul!

happy!

But just as this sense of exhilaration began to rise, the system made a new move:

[Internal encrypted communication data stream captured... Channel: Emergency Medical Isolation...]

"...Repeated! Core members of the surgical team! Dr. Camran, Dr. Li, Technician Patel...all three presented with the same clinical symptoms! Chief complaint: intense itching! The transplanted skin showed...purplish-black reticular discoloration! Accompanied by...loss of elasticity in local tissue!...Etiology unknown! Highly suspected contact infection!...Immediately implement the highest level of isolation! Completely seal off the contact area!..."

Surgical team!

Contact infection!

Purple-black reticulated color change!

Jiang Chan's consciousness paused for a moment, then she understood!
