Chapter 20: Mutual Insults After the Robbery!

This indiscriminate accusation and insult left the villagers who were trying to mediate completely bewildered, and they too became angry.

"Brother Jiang! Are you even being reasonable?!" Liu Dazhuang was the first to erupt in anger. "How chaotic was the scene back then? Those people were all crazy! We almost got tackled ourselves! How could we help?!"

Butcher Zhang spat and pointed at Jiang Fu, cursing, "Bullshit! I just got bitten! Help you? I almost got robbed by you guys! You caused this mess and you want to blame others?!"

Li Laosan was so angry that his lips trembled as Wang pointed her finger at him and berated him. "You have no conscience at all..."

Other villagers also chimed in with their own rebuttals:

"You caused this mess by pretending to be rich, why blame us?"

"Good intentions are wasted!"

"Are you out of your mind?!"

"Who would dare to interfere in your family's affairs!"

Curses rose and fell. The four members of the Jiang family attacked anyone they could get their hands on like mad dogs, and the villagers retaliated just as fiercely.

For a time, spittle flew everywhere along the official road, and the noise was deafening.

The exhaustion from surviving the ordeal was instantly ignited into rage by this absurd infighting.

Jiang Chan coldly watched the chaotic farce unfold, then silently pushed her cart away to the side.

Several villagers, too exhausted to argue, simply covered their ears, turned their backs, and kept their distance from this "nest of gossip," their faces filled with annoyance and "too lazy to care."

Looking at the chaotic situation, Village Chief Chen rubbed his throbbing temples and let out a long, weary sigh.

The villagers dispersed, grumbling and cursing, and returned to their scattered belongings.

No one paid any more attention to the Jiang family.

Everyone silently examined their genitals; the atmosphere was heavy and oppressive.

The four members of the Jiang family seemed to have been ripped out of their souls. They stood there cursing for a while, only to find that their audience had all disappeared.

His anger and frustration had no outlet, so they turned into even deeper, muffled curses.

"You son of a bitch! You bastard..." Liu spat viciously, not knowing who she was cursing.

"You bastard, die! Die!" Wang cursed viciously.

"What bad luck..." Jiang Fu muttered to himself, his eyes glazed over.

"You damned bastard..." Jiang Shou rubbed the teeth marks on his wrist, his mouth full of foul language.

Jiang Chan looked away and handed the water pouch to Xiao Tao. "Drink."

Xiao Tao's face turned deathly pale.

The scene of the frantic robbery by the riverbank and the terror of running all the way still left a lingering fear in her eyes, making them stare blankly.

She obediently drank two mouthfuls from the water pouch, and the cool water slid down her throat, which made her tense body relax a little.

Jiang Chan then handed over half a pancake, saying, "Eat."

She needs to distract Xiaotao now.

This ordinary scene pierced Wang's bloodshot eyes like a sharp needle!

She was seething with anger and had nowhere to vent it; the heartache and resentment over having most of her family's food stolen were gnawing at her like venomous snakes.

Seeing that Jiang Chan still had water and food, and could even feed that little girl peacefully, he instantly exploded!

"Pah! You jinx! You cursed thing!" Wang's voice was shrill and sharp, like a broken gong scraping against everyone's eardrums. Her finger jabbed fiercely in Jiang Chan's direction. "Not only did you bring death to our parents, but now you've brought bad luck to our family! You're a jinx! A cursed star! Anyone who gets involved with you is doomed! The Jiang family was incredibly unlucky to have married your mother! To have given birth to such a scourge! Why don't you just die with your short-lived parents?! Instead, you stay in this world to harm people!"

The more she cursed, the more vigorous she became, spewing out vulgarities like sewage, twisting all the pain and fear of losing food into vicious curses against Jiang Chan.

Jiang Chan, with her back to Wang Shi, paused for a moment as she fed Xiao Tao.

Her back remained straight, but a fleeting, chilling killing intent flashed in the depths of her eyes.

In the apocalypse, the only person who dares to point at her and curse like that...

But then, that murderous intent quickly vanished.

It's not worth it.

Wasting a precious bullet on such an idiot is a complete waste!

She forced herself to ignore the harsh insults and simply pulled Xiaotao closer to her.
