Chapter 4 Trying to run? Too late! You'll lose your life!

He stared at the cold iron pipe that had appeared out of nowhere, then met Jiang Chan's lifeless eyes, and an absurd yet terrifying thought exploded in his mind—this wasn't human! It was a mountain spirit! A ghost! A demon!

He instinctively reached for the hilt of the knife at his waist, but his movements became stiff and slow due to immense fear.

The one-eyed man was closest. His single eye was fixed on the cold creation that had appeared out of nowhere, and he made a hoarse, hissing sound like a broken bellows.

He wanted to scream and back away, but his body was rooted to the spot, unable to move even a finger.

An overwhelming terror gripped his heart, making him forget to breathe.

However, he was not met with the monster's roar or explanation.

It's a sound!

A terrifying roar that they had never heard before, could not understand, and seemed to come from the highest heavens!

Bang!!!

The muzzle of the gun, with its deep, round hole, suddenly burst open with a blindingly bright white flame!

It was as if a miniature lightning bolt had exploded within the cramped stone house! The raging flames instantly engulfed the dim yellow light, illuminating the entire stone wall in a ghastly white light!

A tremendous, indescribable roar, like a tangible hammer blow, slammed into the eardrums of everyone inside! It also pierced through the thick stone walls and carried into the night sky outside!

As the deathly roar that tore everything apart occurred, time seemed to pause for a moment for the one-eyed man.

His ugly, horrified head, illuminated in the firelight—

It exploded without warning!

Like a ripe watermelon that has been hit head-on by a heavy hammer!

Thick, red blood plasma!

White brain matter and broken bones!

Rotten flesh and tissue!

As if it had been detonated, it sprayed out in a radial pattern with a roar!

The scalding hot, viscous liquid, mixed with tiny bone fragments, was smeared in a fan shape all over the head and chest of Black Wind Demon in front of him and Scarface to his side and back!

Warm, slippery, and with a nauseatingly salty and fishy smell, it instantly covered their exposed skin and seeped into their hair, eyebrows, and stubble!

The one-eyed dragon's headless, mangled body remained frozen in place, eerily pausing for half a second.

At the point where the neck was broken, jagged bone fragments and blood vessels were exposed to the air, like a doll that had been violently torn apart.

Then, the headless corpse suddenly leaned back and crashed heavily onto the cold ground with a "thud".

A viscous, dark red liquid quickly spread from his broken neck cavity, soaking the dust on the ground.

Time seemed to stand still.

Black Wind stood frozen in place.

His face, neck, and open chest were covered in a warm, sticky, dripping mixture of red and white.

He could even feel a tiny, warm bone fragment stuck to his eyebrow.

The intense, suffocating smell of blood, mixed with the pungent, acrid odor of gunpowder, was like countless needles piercing his nostrils and shooting straight to the top of his head!

His cloudy eyes widened, his pupils shrinking to the size of pinpoints, reflecting the headless corpse and the still-smoking, cold iron pipe in Jiang Chan's hand.

My mind went blank; all my thoughts were completely crushed and frozen by the hellish scene before me!

He even forgot to breathe and forgot to wipe the filth off his face.

Scarface's scream was stuck in his throat, turning into a silent gasp.

The scars on his face were contorted beyond recognition, and he instinctively covered his filthy face with one hand.

The cold touch brought him back to his senses, but the shattered head and the blood all over his body made his stomach churn. A sour, foul liquid surged uncontrollably into his throat, but he swallowed it back down, leaving only violent retching.

Fear, like icy seawater, instantly overwhelmed him.

Inside the stone house, the air was thick with the smell of gunpowder, and the heavy stench of blood was almost palpable.

Jiang Chan's arm holding the gun was extremely steady, like a welded steel frame.

The icy smile on her face had vanished, leaving only pure, mechanical indifference.

Those eyes swept over the headless corpse on the ground, past the stiff Black Wind Demon and the scarred man leaning against the door frame retching, without a trace of emotion in them, as calm as if a speck of dust had just been brushed off.

Their movements were as fast as a ghost!

With his right forearm leading his wrist, he pulled back in a fluid motion, as if honed through countless trials! Accompanied by a crisp metallic clang, a smoky brass cartridge case sprang out from the side of the gun, clattering as it fell into the pool of blood, splashing a small, dark red flower.

Almost simultaneously, her left-hand fingers flashed across a part of the gun, making a slight "click" sound, and the bullet was chambered!

The muzzle shifted by a mere millimeter, remaining as steady as a rock, locking onto the next target!

Scarface had just recovered slightly from the intense fear and nausea when he looked at Jiang Chan in terror, only to meet the cold, deep muzzle of a gun pointed at his chest!

He saw Jiang Chan's fingers move! The shadow of death instantly enveloped him!

"No!!!" he screamed in agony, instinctively raising his arm to try and block the imaginary arrow or blade, his body frantically shrinking backward!

Bang!

A second deafening roar exploded once again!

Scarface's raised arms were like fragile, withered branches, offering no resistance. An irresistible, immense force slammed into the very center of his chest!

He could even clearly hear the terrifying sound of his own sternum shattering! It sounded like countless chopsticks being snapped at once!

A bloody hole the size of a bowl appeared instantly in his chest!
