Chapter 83: Is stockpiling more important or escaping for one's life?

My body is perfectly fine, but deep in my soul there is a lingering, tearing exhaustion and... a sense of accomplishment that fills my space!

Her thoughts sank into the space.

The space that was originally half full is now completely occupied by two "small mountains"!

On the left were neatly stacked sacks, exuding a rich aroma of rice! They were densely packed, piled high like a mountain! A quick glance revealed exactly ten thousand jin (5,000 kg) of fine rice! Each grain was plump and white as snow!

On the right, there's fresh pork, cleaned and meticulously arranged! A perfect balance of lean and fat, its color incredibly appealing! A quick glance reveals ten thousand jin (5,000 kg)! Heavy and glistening with oil!

The remaining space was filled with these two "mountains"!

Ten thousand catties of rice! Ten thousand catties of meat!

Jiang Chan's heart pounded wildly at first, then she was overwhelmed by a huge, suffocating sense of absurdity!

It's true! With so much grain and meat, they could eat as much as they wanted, enough to live on for decades!

But what followed was panic!

Damn system! This incredible wealth was bought with the enormous risk of almost dying! What about next time? Will the next mission kill her?

She closed her eyes.

The darkness of the mine, the suffocating conditions in the tunnels, and the indescribable eeriness and danger of this mission... all remain vivid in my mind!

Every time felt like dancing on the brink of death!

That's enough! That's really enough!

She suddenly opened her eyes, her gaze turning cold and resolute.

We must leave! Immediately! Right now! Get away from Chen Yan, this "source of trouble"! Take Xiao Tao, find the most remote mountain valley, and slowly eat this rice and meat!

No more worrying about accepting missions!

Just then, Chen Yan's voice rang out from the side, "We should continue on our way."

Jiang Chan took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to run away immediately, and said calmly, "Let's go."

The four of them set off again.

Jiang Chan led the way, pulling Xiao Tao along, her pace much faster than usual.

Chen Yan helped Zhou Shi follow behind.

They walked in silence, the only sounds being footsteps and the wind.

Jiang Chan felt like she was being roasted over a fire, torn between the two tempting "mountains of food and meat" in the space and her desire to escape Chen Yan and be completely safe.

But looking at the bewildered Xiao Tao beside him, and then at Chen Yan and Zhou Shi behind him... his steps unconsciously slowed down again.

If I leave Chen Yan, will the system quests stop triggering? Very likely… What if I want to stockpile supplies later…?

"There seem to be lights ahead!" Chen Yan's voice interrupted her struggle.

Beside the official road, a solitary inn was lit with a dim yellow light.

The dilapidated wooden signboard swayed in the wind, and the three characters "Welcome Guests" were barely legible.

Two dusty red lanterns hung at the entrance, casting a dim light.
