Silly girl

Silly girl

After laughing, Zheng Erya realized that this was not filial at all, so she quickly pursed her lips.

She said to Zheng Nanle, "Sister, you'd better run! If you hit Grandma, your family won't let you get away with it."

Zheng Nanle clapped his hands with a smile: "It's okay, just keep an eye on things."

Hearing the screams from inside the room, the man resting in the yard and the woman watching the cabinets in the kitchen rushed into the outbuilding where Zheng Nanle lived.

Inside the dimly lit, narrow, and damp storage room, Old Lady Zheng lay sprawled on the floor, groaning in pain. In front of a makeshift bed made of a few wooden planks, Zheng Er Ya clapped her hands and laughed heartily.

"Eldest daughter-in-law, fourth daughter-in-law, are you all idiots? What are you standing there for? Come and help me up!" Old Mrs. Zheng cursed, then pointed at Zheng Erya, "Eldest son, fourth son, grab her! This unlucky girl dared to bump into me! She's gone too far!"

Old Mrs. Zheng had four sons and two daughters. Her second son died, her third and fifth sons married out, and her sixth son lived in the county. Only her eldest and fourth sons' families stayed by her side.

The eldest son, Zheng Changfu, married Mei Lanhua and they had two sons and a daughter. The fourth son, Zheng Changlu, married Xia Laidi and they had three sons.

Mei Lanhua and Xia Laidi rushed forward to help Old Lady Zheng, while Zheng Changfu and Zheng Changlu reached out to grab Zheng Nanle.

"Ouch!" Mei Lanhua and Xia Laidi had just helped Old Lady Zheng to her feet when she cried out in pain again. Mei Lanhua and Xia Laidi, at a loss, put Old Lady Zheng back on the ground. Old Lady Zheng cursed, "Are you two trying to kill yourselves? Couldn't you be a little gentler?"

Over there, when her uncle and fourth uncle reached out to grab her, Zheng Nanle slipped through their fingers like an eel. She clapped her hands and chuckled, then subtly bumped their shoulders, causing her uncle and fourth uncle to tumble into a heap.

Zheng Nanle clapped her hands and skipped out. When she got to the door, her aunt and fourth aunt reached out to grab her, but she slipped and fell to the ground.

"Useless! You can't even catch a girl!" Old Mrs. Zheng stood up bravely, clutching her waist, and berated her two daughters-in-law mercilessly. "What are you standing there for? You have no sense at all! Go catch that jinx!"

The eldest son's wife and the fourth son's wife rushed into the yard, and the eldest son and the fourth son followed suit.

Old Man Zheng was sitting in the yard when he saw Zheng Nanle clapping his hands and laughing. He frowned, and then saw his sons and daughters-in-law rushing out to grab someone. He asked, "What's wrong?"

The eldest son replied, "Dad, this unlucky ghost knocked Mom down."

Old Master Zheng thought to himself, "Does Er Ya have the guts to do this?"

They also realized that something was wrong with Er Ya just now. Er Ya always kept her head down, hunched her shoulders, and avoided people's eyes. But the Er Ya who came out just now held her head high and dared to make eye contact with people.

He's possessed.

Old Master Zheng's heart was in turmoil. He took a few steps back without making a sound and cursed, "If you knew she bumped into your mother, why didn't you beat her to death?"

"Go get a stick. What granddaughter would dare to bump into her grandmother? She must be out of her mind."

"Oh, oh," the eldest son's family and the fourth son's family naturally did whatever their father said, and immediately went to get the stick.

"Kill her! Kill her!" several of the younger children shouted from the side, their faces displaying naive cruelty.

Zheng Nanle stood still, a big smile still on his face.

When Old Master Zheng saw it, he felt even more uneasy and his heart was filled with unease.

The eldest and fourth brothers were the first to grab sticks and strike Zheng Nanle from the front and back. Zheng Nanle calmly moved a step to the side, just dodging the stick attacks. The sticks and clubs, swung with the wind, struck the eldest and fourth brothers with a series of thuds.

"Ouch, fourth brother, you hit me right away."

"Big brother, you hit me too."

The two exchanged a few words of complaint, then heard two cries of pain. Looking up, they saw their daughter-in-law also hitting their sister-in-law (the fourth brother's wife) with a stick.

But Er Ya has disappeared.

The eldest and fourth brothers also sensed something was wrong. Was Er Ya really that hard to catch before? Didn't she just stand there blankly, hands behind her head, letting herself be beaten and scolded?

Old Mrs. Zheng leaned against the door, watching helplessly as Zheng Nanle emerged unharmed. Her son fought back, and her daughter-in-law fought back. She cursed at her daughter-in-law, "You two are so stupid! You hit someone but couldn't even hit them. You've wasted your food! You can't even handle this little thing. What can I expect from you?"

"Alright," Old Master Zheng stopped Old Lady Zheng, "What are you cursing for? If you have that energy, why don't you go and cook?"

Old Mrs. Zheng shut her mouth.

She was most afraid of Old Master Zheng. When she was young, she was often beaten and scolded by him. It was only after she gave birth to two sons and surpassed his elder brother (who had given birth to two money-losing children at the beginning) that he became more restrained.

Although he later began to cultivate his mind and temperament and become more gentle as his son grew up, the marks left on him in his youth made Old Lady Zheng always hold him in awe.

She walked into the kitchen with a downcast face, saying, "Eldest daughter-in-law, fourth daughter-in-law, come and cook."

"Mother's here," the eldest son's wife and the fourth son's wife responded in unison, and followed them into the kitchen.

The courtyard fell silent again. Only then did Grandpa Zheng walk over to his two sons with his dignified gait and say in a low voice, "Take a day off this afternoon and go to the sorceress to get some exorcism items."

The eldest and fourth brothers were horrified, "Er Ya, she..."

"Shut up, do you want to be arrested?" Old Master Zheng warned, taking a puff of his pipe and speaking slowly, "If outsiders ask, just say Er Ya has gone mad."

The state is vigorously cracking down on feudal superstition. If you talk about these superstitious things, you will be arrested and sent for education. In more serious cases, you will be criticized and struggled against.

Shut up, eldest and fourth brother.

Zheng Nanle walked out the door feeling slightly depressed.

He was still thinking of making a big splash and turning the Zheng family upside down, but unfortunately, this body was too weak.

She's weak, even weaker than a seventy or eighty-year-old woman.

That little bit of exercise almost made her faint.

This was only because she had her mental strength supporting her, and it was the result of nourishing herself with her supernatural abilities after eating a full breakfast. If it were Er Ya's original body, she would have fainted immediately as soon as she moved.

"Er Ya, where are you going?" A villager asked Zheng Nanle when he met her.

Zheng Nanle didn't say anything, just stared at people and grinned foolishly.

I kept grinning like an idiot until I reached a secluded spot on the mountain, where I stopped smiling.

She rubbed her cheeks, which were sore from laughing, and muttered to herself as she went to find flint, "So pretending to be stupid is a skill in itself."

I'm so tired of laughing.

Er Ya asked curiously, "Sister, why are you pretending to be stupid?"

"Firstly, our personalities are different; a fool can mask this change."

Of course, a madman would work, but a madman is too difficult to portray; a fool is easier.

"Secondly, people with disabilities are a vulnerable group, and they are easily forgiven for whatever bad things they do."

If she were a normal person, the concept of filial piety would be enough to make her hesitant and timid.

She naturally had countless ways to deal with Zheng Erya's family, but it was Zheng Erya's turn to live her life from now on, so she had to teach Zheng Erya to think and learn how to use her skills.

Zheng Nanle quickly lit the fire, threw the sweet potato tied to his body into the fire, and said in a relaxed tone, "Thirdly, of course, it's a fool who commits murder and doesn't have to bear criminal responsibility."

Zheng Erya was terrified. "Sister, are you going to kill my grandparents, uncles, and aunts? Please don't kill people, killing is wrong."

Zheng Nanle hadn't heard the phrase "killing is wrong" in a long time. Since the apocalypse, life has become both valuable and worthless. People who are about to be dealt with are simply moved outside the base, and it's said that they died from zombies. Who would investigate that?

Only in a peaceful and stable world can such a simple understanding exist.

Zheng Nanle didn't know why she was laughing, but she did laugh heartily for a long time because of that sentence.

Zheng Erya laughed so hard she shrank back, completely at a loss for what to do.

After laughing enough, Zheng Nanle used a stick to dig the sweet potato out of the fire and took a bite.

Mmm, sweet.

Zheng Nanle ignored the heat and finished the sweet potato in a few bites. She then picked up the second sweet potato, eating it more slowly this time. As she peeled it, she laughed and said, "Haha, just kidding. This is your body. I won't leave you with a criminal record."

If it weren't for her body, her sister would have killed someone, right?

Zheng Erya looked at Zheng Nanle with heartache.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Zheng Nanle asked curiously.

"My sister must have suffered a lot in the past."

If they hadn't suffered enough, why would they think of killing someone to solve the problem?

Zheng Nanle paused in her sweet potato eating, then continued munching on it as if nothing had happened. "I didn't suffer much. Let me tell you, in my original world, I was a very capable person. I always got to choose the food and things I needed first."

"Only sweet, no bitter."

After finishing a few sweet potatoes, Zheng Nanle still felt weak, so he went to the stream and used his spiritual energy as bait.

By focusing on the larger fish and releasing the smaller ones, Zheng Nanle skillfully stunned the fish with a stone, gutted them, removed the scales and internal organs, then skewered them with a wooden stick and began grilling them.

Zheng Erya thought to herself: She knew her sister was lying. If it was really only sweet, how could she do all these chores so smoothly?

Truly powerful people have servants at home to do chores, just like the landlords of the past. They have maids to serve them, and they don't have to do anything themselves, nor do they know how to do anything. They simply enjoy life.

The grilled fish had no salt, no fishy smell remover, and no seasoning, so to be honest, it wasn't very tasty. But Zheng Nanle was feeling weak and didn't care about the taste, so he stuffed the grilled fish into his mouth.

"Sister, so this is what fish tastes like! It's so delicious!"

Zheng Erya had rarely seen meat since she was a child, and the aroma of grilled fish made her mouth water.

She squatted beside the fire, watching Zheng Nanle bite into the crispy grilled fish, and felt the taste of meat in her mouth as well.

She felt content and smiled innocently and happily.

Silly girl, what's so delicious about this?

Zheng Nanle looked at her, and her heart softened.

This little thing always manages to evoke her boundless pity with just a single sentence.

She didn't say anything, but continued to stuff grilled fish into her mouth, secretly deciding that she would take Er Ya to eat all the delicious food in the world.

She picked up the last grilled fish, then suddenly her ears twitched, and she looked towards the woods.

A short while later, a tall, slender man, as thin as a bamboo pole, walked over.
