As usual, it was time to go to work that day, and everyone went to work, including Wu Qiaoqiao. Although she was pregnant and her belly was so big, she could still do some things within her ability. However, as most people who are pregnant or have pregnant women in their families know, in the later stages of pregnancy, pregnant women will often need to go to the bathroom.
Wu Qiaoqiao also prepared to go home after working for about an hour. One reason was to go to the bathroom, and the other was because Cai Shufen was not at home last night and the two children slept with her. She had to go to work early in the morning and the two children had not woken up yet, so she also had to go back to check on the two children. If they woke up and had not eaten breakfast, she would take out the breakfast she cooked in the morning and give it to the two children.
Just as Wu Qiaoqiao was walking back slowly with her belly in her arms, when she was still a little distance away from home, she heard the crying of two children in the yard. Wu Qiaoqiao heard the laughter of the two children and was worried that they were hungry and wanted to take something out of the pot to eat, and accidentally got scalded or fell, so she walked a little faster. As soon as she entered the yard, she saw that the doors of Cai Shufen's room and her own were both open.
This courtyard was originally built by two brothers after they earned money in the army, saved it, and mailed it back to their second and third uncles to help build it. When they built the house, the two brothers planned to provide a place for Liu Wusheng and Zhao Xiuxiang to live in their old age, so there was a main room and a bedroom in the middle, which was intended to be left for Liu Wusheng and his wife. However, Liu Wusheng and his wife said they were still young and capable, so they did not move in. The other two rooms were used to store food and sundries.
There were identical rooms on both sides, one with a living room and two bedrooms. So when Wu Qiaoqiao entered the yard, she saw that the doors of Cai Shufen's room and her own were open. The crying of the two children came from Cai Shufen's side. Seeing this, Wu Qiaoqiao didn't have time to care why her room door was open, but walked directly towards Cai Shufen. Before she reached the door, she saw Cai Shufen and her mother taking out bags of things.
The two children followed behind, crying. Wu Qiaoqiao even saw the slap mark on Daya's face. She went up to ask what happened. Amid the two children's crying, she also learned that Cai Shufen had taken away everything that could be taken away from the house. Wu Qiaoqiao also learned from the two children's words that someone had entered her room. That person was Cai Shufen's younger brother Cai Dabao, and the slap mark on Daya's face was inflicted by Old Lady Cai.
While Wu Qiaoqiao was struggling with Cai's mother and daughter, she didn't know that Cai Dabao had come out of her room. It wasn't until Tiedan shouted "Second Aunt, be careful!" that Wu Qiaoqiao felt a pain in the back of her head and fainted. When she woke up again, she was awakened by the crying of her two children and the pain in her stomach.
After hearing what had happened, the two police officers asked Wu Qiaoqiao how she planned to handle the situation.
Wu Qiaoqiao: "As for Cai Shufen, let her go. I don't intend to pursue her. After all, she gave birth to two children for my eldest uncle. I can't send her to labor camp for the sake of the two children, right? That wouldn't be good for the two children in the future. As for Cai Dabao, let him do whatever he wants. Anyway, it's not like I wrote a letter of apology and he's innocent. Of course, they still have to pay for my hospitalization expenses."
It turned out that when Wu Qiaoqiao woke up, Zhao Xiuxiang and the others told her that Old Lady Cai had come to the hospital to make trouble in the past few days, wanting Wu Qiaoqiao to write a letter of apology so that her beloved son would not have to go to labor camp. Every time she brought her daughter-in-law to make trouble, she would be beaten by Liu Mingxin. After the beating, Liu Mingxin's medical expenses were paid, and even Xiao Xia, the police officer guarding the hospital, could do nothing about the three of them.
So the two policemen ordered that someone be sent the next day to retrieve the things that the Cai family had taken. As for the money, besides the pension for Liu Mingshan that Cai Shufen had, there was also 58.73 yuan and some bills. According to Wu Qiaoqiao, she had 56.48 yuan. As soon as Wu Qiaoqiao reported the bills, the two policemen knew that those bills belonged to Wu Qiaoqiao.
After the two police officers left, Wu Qiaoqiao asked Liu Mingxin to go to the police station tomorrow to get back all the things that the Cai family had taken from the Liu family. As for Cai Shufen's things, they didn't really have any of hers. Wu Qiaoqiao also said that if Mrs. Cai didn't agree, she could just leave the broken bicycle to them.
When Liu Mingshan and Cai Shufen got married, Cai's mother made outrageous demands. She wanted a bicycle, a turntable, a radio, and a watch, and wouldn't even provide any of the dowry, saving it for her son's wedding. Liu Mingshan, however, stood his ground and told her that if she continued to make such demands, she should call the police and accuse her of indecent behavior, sending her to the police station. After much haggling, they managed to buy a bicycle, which was included in the dowry. Unfortunately, Liu Mingshan was often away at the military base, so Cai Shufen sent the bicycle to her parents' home. Her younger brother didn't take good care of it, and within a few years, the bicycle was in terrible condition; now, everything rattles except the bell.
After finishing their discussion, Wu Qiaoqiao fell asleep again. Her injuries were quite severe; although she possessed supernatural abilities, they weren't very strong, and she could only recover slowly. After Wu Qiaoqiao fell asleep, Zhao Xiuxiang and Liu Mingxin discussed tomorrow's plans and decided that Feng Mingran would go with Liu Mingxin tomorrow. Once the items were brought back, the villagers would use a tractor to transport them.
On the next day, when Liu Mingxin and Feng Mingran went to the police station, someone also came to Wu Qiaoqiao's place.
