After leaving the room, Lin Yuwei climbed over the wall and sat on it, looking at the man in the moonlight. Her eyes were somewhat dazed, as if she could see the young man with the jade crown and black martial arts uniform smiling at her again.
Lin Yuwei only swayed for a moment before her eyes regained their clarity; she knew that the young man would not appear again.
After dinner, Feng Minghao, his younger brother, and Liu Xiaobao went back to Zhao Xiuxiang's house. After washing up, they fell asleep quickly in bed. After they were sound asleep, he went out and waited at the gate of Liu Mingfeng's yard.
Looking up at the girl sitting on the courtyard wall, he seemed to see a scene from his past life when they went out to right wrongs at night. It was the same back then; the girl climbed over the wall and he was waiting outside to catch her. Just as he was about to go forward to catch Lin Yuwei, she jumped down from the wall.
As Feng Minghao was about to come forward to help her down, Lin Yuwei jumped off the wall. Because it was close to the courtyard, neither of them said anything and they walked away in a tacit manner. Unbeknownst to them, two other people were following behind.
Liu Mingfeng helped Wu Qiaoqiao follow behind Lin Yuwei and her companion. Utilizing blind spots and the interplay of light and shadow, along with subtle mental cues from Liu Mingfeng, the two followed Lin Yuwei and her companion without being noticed. Wu Qiaoqiao watched Lin Yuwei and her companion walk forward without a word, then nudged Liu Mingfeng, who was supporting her, with her elbow.
"I'm pretty sure these two are in a relationship, but I wonder what their first words were? You can guess."
Liu Mingfeng shook his head, indicating that he wouldn't guess. He had never guessed correctly in this situation before. Wu Qiaoqiao scoffed at Liu Mingfeng's attitude, indicating that he had no energy at all. The two of them stopped talking and followed Lin Yuwei and the other two.
After walking for a while, the two finally arrived at their destination. It was a very open and flat area, and they could see anyone coming from any direction, so they thought it was a safe place. Little did they know that someone had cheated. Lin Yuwei and Feng Minghao stood facing each other, neither of them saying a word. Wu Qiaoqiao, who was hiding nearby, was about to speak for them when she heard the two of them speak at the same time.
"Haoran" and "Weier"
Hearing the shout from the person opposite her, Lin Yuwei narrowed her eyes. It really was him! That untrustworthy person. Thinking of this, her fist slowly clenched. Feng Minghao on the other side didn't see this, but the other two people did.
Wu Qiaoqiao: "Oh ho, looks like someone's going to get a beating!"
The tone was incredibly gloating. Then, Wu Qiaoqiao and the other girl saw Feng Minghao excitedly step forward to hug Lin Yuwei. Lin Yuwei, however, clenched her fists and punched Feng Minghao. Feng Minghao did not fight back. Seeing that he did not fight back, Lin Yuwei did not hold back and continued to hit him while questioning him.
"Didn't you say you'd be back soon? Didn't you say you wouldn't keep me waiting long? Didn't you say you'd come back and marry me? You liar, you big liar!"
Wu Qiaoqiao and the other woman watched as Lin Yuwei unilaterally beat up Feng Minghao. From her every move, it was clear that she knew martial arts. The two women also noticed that although Lin Yuwei was angry, she was still very restrained. After all, Feng Minghao had already taken quite a bit of damage, but his face was still clean. It was obvious that Lin Yuwei had controlled herself and hadn't hit him in the face.
After Lin Yuwei finally stopped, and Feng Minghao hugged her, Wu Qiaoqiao and the others heard Lin Yuwei burst into tears.
Do you know I'm married?
"I know"
Do you know that I married your best brother?
"I know"
"I avenged you, do you know that?"
"I know, I know everything, I really know everything, it's really tough on you."
After venting her emotions, Lin Yuwei finally calmed down. Feng Minghao tenderly wiped away her tears, and the two of them walked to a tree and sat down. Lin Yuwei then started talking, recounting how she married the Fifth Prince, how the Empress, heartbroken because her brother, nephew, and son were all killed by the Emperor, poisoned herself and died alongside the Emperor, how she and the Fifth Prince sent the Consort and the Second Prince to hell, how she became Empress Dowager after the Fifth Prince ascended the throne, and how she ruled as Empress Dowager after his death until the young Crown Prince grew up and returned power to her.
Feng Minghao knew all of this, but he knew that Lin Yuwei needed to vent, so he just listened quietly until Lin Yuwei spoke.
“I know, I know you’ve suffered. I’ve always been by your side. After I died on the battlefield, maybe because I couldn’t let go of my obsession with you, I came back to your side and stayed with you, watching over you. Every time I saw you suffering so much, I wanted to hug you and comfort you, but I could only pass through your body.”
"No wonder I sometimes feel like you haven't left, but are still by my side."
The two also chatted about their current situations. Feng Minghao, needless to say, introduced his family to Lin Yuwei, mentioning that he was currently a platoon leader in a certain military unit. At this point, Feng Minghao also learned about Lin Yuwei's situation, which was probably similar to his own. Feng Minghao himself had been having dreams about his past life since he was a child.
Lin Yuwei was reincarnated with the memories of her previous life. Because she had so many memories from her previous life, she was slower to react than other children from birth.
