Chapter 60

After seeing all the guests off, everyone went back to their rooms to wash up. Feng Minghao and Lin Yuwei walked hand in hand to Zhao Xiuxiang's house, while Feng Mingran and Liu Xiaobao went to their second and third uncles' houses to stay with people their own age.

After Feng Minghao and Lin Yuwei arrived at Zhao Xiuxiang's house, Lin Yuwei blushed and went into the room, while Feng Minghao went to the kitchen to get some hot water that had already been boiled and brought it into the room for Lin Yuwei to wash up. He then drew well water from the yard to wash up himself.

After Lin Yuwei finished washing up, Feng Minghao went in again to take out the used water and pour it out. After pouring out the water, he also went into the room.

When Feng Minghao entered the room, he saw Lin Yuwei already lying on the kang (a heated brick bed), facing inwards. Feng Minghao could only see her long, black, lustrous hair spread out on the kang. Seeing this, Feng Minghao felt as if he were on fire, and unconsciously walked to the bedside, lifted the quilt, and crawled inside.

After a night of passionate lovemaking, Lin Yuwei woke up the next day to find it was already late. Everyone who had gone to work had left. Seeing the time, Lin Yuwei tried to get up, but the aches and pains in her body made her fall back down.

Lin Yuwei felt the soreness in her body and unconsciously thought of what happened last night, and her face flushed. At this moment, Feng Minghao also brought in breakfast.

"Wei'er, how are you feeling? Are you alright? I was the one who made a rash move yesterday, did I hurt you?"

Hearing Feng Minghao's concern, Lin Yuwei felt her face burn even hotter. She gave him a shy glare, but that glare had a different effect on Feng Minghao; it made him feel hot again. He knew that if he made any further moves, Lin Yuwei would definitely get angry. So he coughed and placed breakfast on the kang table.

After putting out breakfast, Feng Minghao helped Lin Yuwei up. Seeing Lin Yuwei's slightly furrowed brows, he patted his forehead and took out a glass tube about the size of his little finger from his pocket.

After taking out the glass tube, Feng Minghao handed it directly to Lin Yuwei. Lin Yuwei took it and began to examine the small tube in her hand. It was clearly made of glass, about the thickness and length of her little finger, and contained a green liquid, although it looked like some of it had been used up. While Lin Yuwei was examining it, Feng Minghao explained the origin of the glass tube.

"Wu Qiao'er gave this to me today. She told me to drink half of it if I didn't feel well. It would make me feel much better."

Upon hearing that Wu Qiaoqiao had brought it out, Lin Yuwei immediately unscrewed the cap on the glass tube and drank half of the liquid inside. Not long after drinking the green liquid, Lin Yuwei felt much better in her body. She had a feeling that if she drank the rest, all her discomfort would be gone.

However, Lin Yu also knew why Wu Qiaoqiao only let her drink half. It's because you've never seen a newlywed bride be so lively and energetic the day after her wedding night.

Feng Minghao was also pleased to see that Lin Yuwei's condition had improved significantly after drinking the medicine. After all, he didn't want to hurt Lin Yuwei. However, a man who had never tasted meat before would be a little reckless when he first experienced it.

After Lin Yuwei recovered, she got up, washed up, and had breakfast with Feng Minghao before heading to Liu Mingfeng's house. On the way, Lin Yuwei kept urging Feng Minghao on, saying that if it weren't for him, she wouldn't have slept until now.

You know, although we don't have to get up early to serve tea to our in-laws on our first day of marriage like they did back then, she should still be the one making breakfast on the first morning after the wedding. It's all that idiot Feng Minghao's fault; if he hadn't exhausted her so much last night, she wouldn't have been unable to get up this morning. How is she supposed to face her mother-in-law now?

The two arrived at Liu Mingfeng's house quickly. Pushing open the gate, they saw that everyone who was supposed to be at work had gone to work, and even those who weren't supposed to be at work, like Liu Mengmeng, were busy today.

Lin Yuyang and Xiong Yuehong had to go to work, and Liu Mengmeng originally planned to stay here for a while until Wu Qiaoqiao gave birth and finished her postpartum confinement before going back. However, after being persuaded by Liu Mingfeng and the others, she also decided to go back. Since everyone was worried about her traveling alone by train, they discussed with the village the possibility of Feng Mingran going back with Liu Mengmeng. Feng Mingran's work here would be done by Feng Minghao. The reason everyone agreed was that if Feng Minghao could hunt some big game from the mountain while he was here, they would have meat to eat again. So, both the villagers and the usually somewhat troublesome educated youth unanimously agreed.

So Liu Mengmeng and the others, along with Li Yuyang, bought train tickets for tomorrow, preparing to take the train back to work. Today, they were preparing the food and dried goods they would take back. Early in the morning, Zhao Xiuxiang and the others asked Tan Xiang to help collect some dried goods from the village, such as mushrooms, wood ear fungus, and some cured meats like cured rabbit and cured pheasant from the villagers who knew how to hunt. These dried goods could be preserved for a long time and wouldn't spoil while being on the train.

When Feng Minghao and Lin Yuwei came in, they saw Liu Mengmeng coming out of the kitchen. Lin Yuwei immediately went over to greet Liu Mengmeng.

"Mom, I'm sorry, I overslept today. I was supposed to make breakfast this morning."

Liu Mengmeng looked at her daughter-in-law and patted her head with a smile. How could she blame Lin Yuwei for this? It was just that her son hadn't had a woman for over 20 years, and now that he was married, it was like an old house catching fire. So she wasn't surprised at all that Lin Yuwei hadn't gotten up this morning.

"It's alright, we don't have those rules in our family. Did you eat enough of the breakfast we brought over this morning? If you're not full, have some more. We're making pancakes and steaming buns here now, planning to take them to the car to eat tomorrow. If you're still not full, have some more."

Lin Yuwei shook her head, indicating she was full, while Feng Minghao went inside and grabbed a freshly steamed bun to eat. He had brought breakfast over this morning mainly for Lin Yuwei. He then walked over to Liu Xiaobao, who was hunting wild boar. Looking at the diced wild boar meat, Feng Minghao turned to his mother and asked...

"Mom, what are you doing? You're cutting the meat into these tiny cubes."

"You mean this? I'm planning to make some meat sauce. I'll take it with me on the train and eat it with steamed buns and flatbread."

When Feng Minghao heard that it was for his mother and brother-in-law to eat in the car, he didn't say anything more. He finished the steamed bun in his hand in a few bites and also grabbed a kitchen knife to help.
