The secretariat outside the office of the top leader in the capital received a call from the military region in Liaoning Province. After answering the phone and hearing what was being said, the operator immediately picked up another phone connected to the top leader's office and dialed it. After the top leader answered the phone and explained the situation, he immediately instructed the operator to connect the phone to his office.
You see, the top leader had been struggling with gold and silver issues lately. They were planning to import a batch of goods, but there was a shortage of gold and silver. Now, hearing that a large quantity of gold and silver needed his approval to be transported to the capital, the top leader felt like he'd been struck by lightning.
After receiving Wang Hai's call, he learned that there was indeed a considerable amount of supplies on the other side. Therefore, the top leader here prepared to dispatch a commercial airliner to pick up the shipment. During the call, Wang Hai also mentioned that he would bring two special people to meet him, hoping he would agree.
The top leader was initially puzzled as to why Wang Hai had brought two people with him, and his words sounded somewhat unusual. Wang Hai mentioned two special things on the phone, and his accent was particularly strong when he said them, which gave the top leader a different feeling. So he asked Wang Hai to bring the two people over. As for whether he would actually meet them, he would have to wait and see after meeting Wang Hai.
After hanging up with Wang Hai, the top leader had his bodyguards summon the second and third leaders. The three of them held a short meeting in the office and decided to send a civilian airliner, piloted by a military pilot, to pick up the goods and people. They would discuss the rest after the people were brought over.
After the commander hung up the phone, Wang Hai and his team discussed matters. They decided that Wang Hai would take Feng Minghao and Liu Mingfeng to the capital, while Jiang Qingsong would stay at the military base to help Wang Hai with things after his departure. Zhang Jianjun wouldn't go with them but would return home, and also visit Liu Mingfeng's family to inform the two military wives who remained there about Feng Minghao and Liu Mingfeng's situation.
After discussing it, Wang Hai and Jiang Qingsong decided to have Zhang Jianjun tell Lin Yuwei and Wu Qiaoqiao about what happened at Wohu Mountain. As for why Liu Mingfeng and Feng Minghao wouldn't be back for a very short time, they would say that the things they discovered were extremely special and required them to carry out a special mission, which would put the two of them at ease.
After Zhang Jianjun agreed, he drove his car back to the police station and told the police officers who had accompanied him to Wohushan that day about the situation, such as that the reward might have to wait for notification from the leaders in the capital.
The police officers had no objection to what Zhang Jianjun said, and were overjoyed knowing they might receive praise from their superiors. Moreover, they had each received a considerable amount of meat that day, and happily carried their loads home after work, anticipating a good meal for their families.
After arranging things at the police station, Zhang Jianjun rode his bicycle towards Liujiatunzi. He planned to go and return as soon as possible, since it had been quite a while and it wouldn't be safe for him to ride back too late.
After arriving at Liujiatunzi, Zhang Jianjun rode his bicycle directly to Liu Mingfeng's house. When he arrived, he saw Zhao Xiuxiang and Feng Mingyue helping Lin Yuwei arrange dinner for the evening. After all, it was Wu Qiaoqiao's child's third-day celebration today. Although they had eaten lunch, they were preparing to invite Liu Ercheng, Liu Sanqian, and their families to have dinner together tonight.
When Zhao Xiuxiang saw Zhang Jianjun coming over, but didn't see Feng Minghao and Liu Mingfeng, she curiously looked behind Zhang Jianjun. Zhang Jianjun didn't say anything to Zhao Xiuxiang first, but instead told Feng Mingyue, who was helping in the kitchen, to go and find Liu Ercheng and Liu Sanqian first, because he had something to say.
Seeing Zhang Jianjun's serious expression, and noticing that neither her brother nor her cousin had seen him, Feng Mingyue knew something must have happened. She wiped her hands on her apron and ran outside. Fortunately, it was almost time to finish work, and just as everyone was getting back to work, she heard the gong signaling the end of the workday.
Feng Mingyue ran to the edge of the field and just then saw Liu Sanqian and Liu Ercheng coming up from the field to the edge of the field. After Liu Sanqian finished dealing with the two wild boars at noon, he came to work in the afternoon since he had nothing to do. At this time, the two of them saw Feng Mingyue running towards them and asked her what was wrong and why she looked so anxious.
"Second Uncle, Third Uncle, Brother Jianjun is here, but my brother and cousin didn't see him. Brother Jianjun asked me to come and call you to my cousin's house to discuss something."
Liu Ercheng was still a little confused about what Zhang Jianjun wanted, but Liu Sanqian knew it must be about the things that happened in the back mountain. So he pulled his second brother and quickly headed towards Liu Mingfeng's house. As for their families, they didn't follow them first, but instead planned to go home to wash up before going to Liu Mingfeng's house to help.
When Liu Ercheng and Liu Sanqian arrived at Liu Mingfeng's house, they saw Zhang Jianjun's solemn expression and hurriedly asked if something had happened. Zhang Jianjun did not rush to say anything, but instead asked Zhao Xiuxiang to go into Liu Mingfeng's house and help Wu Qiaoqiao out, as he had something to say.
Seeing Zhang Jianjun's solemn demeanor, Zhao Xiuxiang, though somewhat reluctant to help Wu Qiaoqiao out—after all, it had only been three days since Wu Qiaoqiao gave birth—was about to say something when she saw Liu Sanqian give her a meaningful look, realizing this matter was likely more serious than it seemed. She went inside and spoke to Wu Qiaoqiao, who immediately agreed. Zhao Xiuxiang and Lin Yuwei helped Wu Qiaoqiao out and sat her down at the table. However, Lin Yuwei placed something on the stool and wrapped her in a blanket to keep her from being exposed to the wind.
