Chapter 6 Cleaning

After rubbing his sore shoulders, Jiang Feng felt much better after swallowing a corpse core.

It was already dark, so Jiang Feng found his phone to light up and started cooking. He had harvested a lot of ingredients today, so he could have a good meal.

Wash the chicken, marinate it with some seasoning, cut the fish into pieces and add some ginger and garlic to remove the fishy smell.

Pour half a pot of water into the pot and bring it to a boil. Add the fish and vegetables and cook until the soup turns white and the seasonings are added. Then you can remove the pot from the heat.

Put another frying pan on the stove, pour some oil in it, put the chicken in, cover it with a lid, and simmer it on the fire until cooked.

After taking a sip of the fish soup, looking at the dim flames, and listening to the sizzling sound in the oil pan, Jiang Feng felt that this moment was extremely peaceful, although it was still dangerous outside.

"Perhaps, this kind of life is what I want." Jiang Feng feels that his life these days has been more fulfilling than before. Without electricity, novels, animation and games, he does not have to live in a virtual world and his life is more real.

Tomorrow, it's time to clean up this building. Jiang Feng has been observing the outside for the past few days and found that the zombies near the national highway are slowly dispersing. There are not many zombies on the street downstairs. They should have been attracted by food or left on their own.

After today's observation, Jiang Feng decided to go to the landlord's house in the yard behind the building tomorrow. First of all, only the landlord has the key to the upstairs house, and secondly, there should be other tools there, such as an axe, a crowbar, and steel bars.

Now Jiang Feng feels that the shovel in his hand is becoming less and less useful. It is too light and has become deformed.

After thinking for a long time and planning everything for tomorrow, I continued to eat. After a big meal, I was finally full.

After a satisfying meal, Jiang Feng walked out onto the balcony and looked at the town that had become incredibly dark under the cover of night. He felt an indescribable feeling in his heart. The night might no longer belong to humans.

After watching for a long time and gazing blankly at the evening breeze, Jiang Feng went to bed with melancholy.

The next morning, Jiang Feng cooked some porridge and had breakfast with the leftover chicken from last night, then began to prepare for action.

After packing up all my gear and opening the door, I saw the turtle sleeping in the hallway again. It had nearly devoured all the zombies around the corner. Its shell, once the size of a washbasin, had swelled like a balloon, now about 70 to 80 centimeters long and 50 to 60 centimeters wide.

Even before the apocalypse, this turtle would have been a formidable giant. Well, in any case, it was one step closer to becoming a mount. Jiang Feng thought, if it grew to two meters, it should be able to carry him easily, right?

"Dong Dong" Jiang Feng kicked the turtle's shell twice to wake it up. There is a zombie waiting for you downstairs!

"Who is it? Still sleeping?" Still confused, looking at the head slowly sticking out, Jiang Feng felt that this guy had a talent for comedy.

"Come with me and eat something!" Jiang Feng ordered it.

"Oh, eat, eat"

The silly-looking guy looked at Jiang Feng for a while, as if he didn't understand why he was woken up. But when he heard about eating, he raised his head and immediately became alert.

"Oh, it seems that this guy needs to be disciplined!" Jiang Feng sighed as he moved away the things blocking his way.

Ever since the first time he overused his abilities, Jiang Feng has been a little afraid of that state. He cannot control himself and acts completely on instinct. Isn't that the state of a zombie?

When the things were moved away enough for the turtle to pass, Jiang Feng stopped, urged it to pass, and then blocked the road again.

The situation downstairs was still quiet. When Jiang Feng passed the fifth floor, he took a look at the door. Although he didn't have the key, Jiang Feng still felt that there should be no living people inside.

If there were people living there, there would be some movement, but Jiang Feng hadn't noticed anything in the past few days, so it seemed that there was only something missing. But Jiang Feng didn't have the time to care about it now.

I walked up to the fourth floor and it was still the same as yesterday because I did some tricks before leaving yesterday. It looked like both doors were closed, but one of the doors was just stuck with a layer of paper.

Pushing open the door and entering, Jiang Feng dragged out the zombie he had killed yesterday and let the turtle eat it. He then moved out the refrigerator and placed it horizontally at the corner of the corridor, making a simple tripping hazard.

Then they continued to head downstairs. The doors of the rooms on the third floor were all closed. Jiang Feng didn't care. Even if there were zombies, they couldn't directly break through the security door.

The doors of the two houses on the second floor were wide open, which made Jiang Feng a little nervous. He walked over quietly and took a quick look. He found that there were no zombies in the living rooms of the two houses, but there were quite a few dried bloodstains.

He quickly pulled up and closed the door on the left, then walked to the other side. After entering the door, he saw a rotten corpse. Although he didn't know why it didn't turn into a zombie, it looked like its internal organs had been hollowed out long ago.

Gently knocking on the wall, Jiang Feng carefully observed all the movements in the house and found that there was a noise coming from the door of a bedroom.

"Um?"

He walked over slowly, grasped the shovel in his hand, and slowly opened the door, but he pushed something over, which must be a zombie.

Sure enough, a hand slowly stretched out from the crack in the door, but what made Jiang Feng's pupils shrink was that it was actually a child's hand!

For a moment, Jiang Feng felt mixed emotions and didn't know what to do. As the door slowly opened, a gray-haired little boy's face appeared, roaring at him.

"Since you're already dead, it's better to be a dead man!" Seeing him like this, Jiang Feng no longer hesitated and smashed down hard.

"Bang"

Looking at the child zombie slowly falling to the ground, Jiang Feng was silent. This is what a zombie is like. It's fair.
