Chapter 193: Is it all made of iron?

Even a thin layer of metal that Helmod sculpted was far superior to ordinary metal; these people, using primitive methods to hammer it, would naturally achieve nothing.

A group of people were banging and hammering with various tools for about twenty minutes. Almost everyone was exhausted. When they looked up, they found that the iron gate was completely undamaged, without even a white mark or a dent.

The group of people outside the door were completely dumbfounded.

"How is this possible? Just how sturdy is this door?" A soldier looked at the hammer in his hand, somewhat bewildered. "Shouldn't it at least make a small hole?"

"Dig the wall!"

That Li Fei, known as Captain Li, was clearly smart. Seeing how sturdy the iron gate was, he immediately changed his mind, and the group of people turned around and started knocking and banging on the wall.

"Oh dear," Helmod blinked. "This is bad."

"What's wrong?" Ishtar, who was eating, was taken aback. "Is the wall not sturdy enough?"

“This whole house is made of metal by me. The outer walls are projected by me using holography, they’re not real walls,” Helmod said helplessly. “When they knock on them, it’s metal, not ordinary lime. I’m afraid we’ll be exposed.”

Before Helmod could finish speaking, a clanging sound came from outside the door. The sound was so crisp that it was not only clearer than the sound of knocking on the door, but also louder and clearer than the sound of knocking.

Before the people outside had knocked for twenty minutes, they noticed something was wrong and stopped. Li Fei went up and touched the wall. When he shoveled at it, no plaster or paint came off; instead, there was a crisp "clang".

"Damn, this is iron too?" Li Fei had a bad feeling.

"Captain Li, we just sent a drone to check it out. They have a large floor-to-ceiling window. Why don't we..." one of the underlings suggested.

"Idiot, these walls and doors are made of such solid metal, how could the glass be ordinary glass?" Li Fei slapped the speaker on the head: "Go back and talk to the boss..."

"ah!"

"Ahh!"

Before Li Fei could finish speaking, the few henchmen who had been leaning against the door and wall were suddenly thrown away, falling to the ground foaming at the mouth and convulsing uncontrollably.

Their skin, which had just been pressed against the wall and door, was already charred black and could be smelled.

Damn, how come there's still high voltage?

Are the people here...?

Thinking of this, Li Fei said nothing, but made a gesture with a serious expression.

His underlings wanted to say something more, but upon seeing the gesture, their expressions immediately turned serious. They exchanged a glance and said nothing.

Silence fell again outside the door.

When Ishtar looked out the door again, she found that they had all left.

"They left so quickly. I thought there would be something fun to do." Ishtar wrapped herself in the blanket again and sat down by the fireplace, looking rather bored.

A small, fiery red dragon sat on the sofa beside her, seemingly just summoned. Hearing Ishtar's words, it snorted twice in dissatisfaction and spewed a ball of flame from its nostrils.

“Be careful not to set the house on fire,” Helmod warned. “Even though the house is made of steel and the furniture is flammable.”

"What are you looking at?" Ishtar noticed that Shi Yin had pulled out a book from somewhere. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be some records, and didn't look like arrangements within the Yanlong Kingdom.

"Hermod, has Wilren begun his exploration yet?" Shi Yin asked.

“We just started exploring two days ago, and I was just about to tell you about it when, an hour ago, the Yanlong Kingdom began cooperating with Wellen,” Helmod said. “If I’m not mistaken, the Yanlong Kingdom’s power supply infrastructure may also be reaching its limit.”

"So late..." Shi Yin sighed.

“It’s always within your expectations, so don’t look so frustrated.” Helmod said helplessly, “It’s normal for the voices behind the scenes to be different. Without someone with absolute authority in charge, efficiency will indeed decrease.”

“No, I’m just a little disappointed. Nan Zhu wasn’t tough enough.” Shi Yin shook her head: “I gave him the second say, but he didn’t manage to take control of the situation.”

“Excuse my bluntness, but that kid doesn’t seem like a strong person,” Helmod objected. “Besides, as far as I know, he doesn’t seem to have any special abilities or great strength. It would be too difficult for him to suppress those people with special abilities.”

In other words, those superhumans only listen to Shi Yin. Even if Shi Yin verbally says that she will delegate the authority to Nan Zhu, those people will most likely not listen.

“But the exploration mission is too late, and it has nothing to do with superhumans.” Shi Yin frowned. “The key point is that the connections between our five countries must be close. Your overseas exploration has been going on for some time now, hasn’t it?”

“Of course, only you went missing; none of the rest of us did.” Helmod shrugged. “We were all issuing commands remotely.”

Shi Yin took a deep breath and gently shook her head, saying nothing, and continued to flip through the thick, book-like notebook in her hand, finally stopping at one of the pages.

Ishtar noticed that it looked like a map, with several red dots that looked somewhat familiar.

"Isn't this the person you allowed to hoard goods and agreed to refuse evacuation?" Ishtar immediately reacted: "You mean these people outside are one of their henchmen?"

"To be precise, they're cannon fodder." Shi Yin looked out the window, casually determined her direction, and then put her notebook away again. "Hopefully they'll speed things up."

This harsh winter is supposed to be the best time for human superhumans to rest and recuperate. The ice and snow have a great restraining effect on zombies, so now is the perfect time to frantically kill zombies, collect crystal cores, and level up.

But the fact that the country only sent out an exploration team today, just an hour ago, suggests that these people don't think they can rest easy just because they've secured a piece of land.

"I hope those who are outwardly compliant but inwardly defiant aren't out of their minds and didn't plant things on the bare ground before the snow disaster," Shi Yin murmured. "However... it's not like it's never happened before."

However, in recent lifetimes, she has explicitly prohibited it and demanded that a team strictly control it. Even so, these difficult-to-control variables are still likely to cause accidents, which is worrying.

This snow is no ordinary snow; it has been catalyzed by catalytic energy, and it has the same catalytic effect on plants. Those plants that had already begun to mutate grew even more wildly after the snow disaster.

Of course, the following period is also the peak period of plant-based superpowers.

Nearly a week later, the online comments were getting increasingly out of control, and Shi Yin and the others finally spotted a familiar pair of figures in the distance from the top of the tallest building.

"Are those your subordinates?" Ishtar pointed to the small black dots in the distance. "If I remember correctly, those two are... Gu Changge and Lin Beiyue, right?"

"Isn't each team led by a powerful superhuman? These two should both be quite strong, at the team leader level, so why did they come out together?"
