Shi Yin had considered concentrating her power to forcefully break through the seal and forcibly reclaim that memory.
However, Shi Yin knew very well that she never did anything meaningless. The matter had become so serious that she had personally sealed away these two memories. Therefore, if she forcibly changed this, it would definitely cause serious consequences.
Understanding that you are recklessly defying fate makes you less painful, even if the destination may always lead to destruction, it is your own choice.
However, Shi Yin now understands that she is also a pawn.
The player who wields the pieces in the game is also oneself.
"I don't know. Although I don't know what happened to you, sister, I'll still say the same thing." Freya smiled at Shion: "I support you unconditionally, sister."
"Although my sister can't possibly believe us," Freya added softly.
"Don't say that." Shi Yin ruffled Freya's hair, her expression softening. "Go and rest. This time will go smoothly too."
"Mmm." Freya smiled but didn't say anything. She jumped down from the tree and went back into the tent.
The world fell silent.
Shi Yin sat in the shade, looking at the blue sky outside through the trees.
“Perhaps I should go,” Shi Yin murmured to herself. “But I am the leader, and I must make the right choice.”
The unusual magnetic field lasted for about three and a half hours. By the time everyone confirmed that the unusual magnetic field had ended, the sun was almost setting and the weather was no longer so hot.
The exploration team had no concept of day or night; they would rest when they stopped and explore when they set off.
After resting for a while, the group began to walk further in. The closer they got to their designated destination, the denser the vegetation became, with clumps of bushes everywhere. In places that hadn't been cleared by humans, it was difficult for even a person to squeeze in.
There were no large flying insects here, so they couldn't get in at all, but there were many centipedes and snakes that could burrow into the bushes, which were all dealt with successfully by the group.
After all, the dense thickets have intertwined branches that are extremely tough, so even agile snakes and centipedes wouldn't be able to exert much power inside; instead, they would be trapped.
However, after following the map for most of the way, the group did not see any trace of the laboratory.
The surrounding area was covered with grass, bushes, trees, and even unusually large, open flowers, but there was no sign of human habitation or even technology.
"Sister Yin, is this really the place?" Yan Qi couldn't help but ask, but when he turned his head, he found that Shi Yin had disappeared at some point and had distanced herself from them.
"Aren't you going to include us?" Yan Qi scratched his head.
"Everything's going well now, and there's no danger, so don't keep calling your parents." Lin Beiyue slapped Yan Qi: "At least use your brain for a moment."
"Judging from the feedback from the wind, there seems to be no trace of any civilized buildings around here." Yun Ce carefully sensed the surrounding situation: "I can sense insects and plants infesting the area, uninhabited buildings, wandering zombies, and animals that are close to being mutated."
"What do those buildings look like? Could the laboratory be hidden inside?" Lin Beiyue asked.
"I can feel the wind even in places where there shouldn't be any wind." Yun Ce was confident in his ability to sense wind: "Plants grow inside residential buildings, and although the walls are on the verge of collapse, they barely stand up thanks to these plants. The laboratory must be quite dangerous, right?"
Although Yun Ce's attack power is not as strong as other superpowers, his sense of perception is unique; he can sense where there is wind.
A laboratory should be a very rigorous place. Yun Ce had been to the laboratory in Yanlong Kingdom. It was highly sophisticated and even had a sense of technology that did not belong to this era.
Given that this is such a high-risk new world laboratory, it couldn't have been completed in an unfinished building.
"It seems this laboratory doesn't exist on land anymore." Nan Zhu rested his chin on his hand thoughtfully. "The division of local areas is almost impossible to be wrong. This laboratory has existed for a very, very long time. If it can't be detected on land..."
“If it’s not a sky island in the sky, then it must be underground,” Lin Beiyue replied. “I’ll give it a try.”
As he spoke, Lin Beiyue held his breath and concentrated, conjuring up several detectors.
These detectors are special; they are explosive-type accompanying weapons. When they encounter danger, they will explode on the spot and release a mist. As soon as the explosive detectors condense, they float into the air like dandelions and drift through the forest with a gust of wind from Yun Ce.
This also mimics the dandelion, so as not to alert the enemy.
Soon, these detectors adhered to the ground, plants, and some even stuck to insects and zombies.
"How is it? Can you feel it?" Yan Qi asked curiously, "There shouldn't be a situation where there isn't a laboratory, right?"
"Yes." Lin Beiyue's expression was somewhat strange.
"Where?" Yan Qi was puzzled. According to the area on the map, they had already entered most of the danger zone. If they continued for another day or two, they might be able to get out.
Lin Beiyue remained silent and pointed to the ground beneath her feet.
“I’ll draw it down; I can receive the signal feedback.” Lin Beiyue took out her paper and pen. “Nanzhu, I remember your ability is resonance. Can you sense the area within the laboratory?”
“Yes, but the danger zone is too large, which would be a waste of resources.” Nan Zhu nodded. “However, if I can determine the approximate location, I can sense the details.”
“That’s perfect. I’ll draw a range for you, and we can draw it out and compare.” Lin Beiyue said.
Nan Zhu had no objection. He didn't mind drawing the diagram; the team of superhumans had all been trained in the ability to draw on the spot or leave information, so drawing the sensory object was a piece of cake.
Soon, Lin Beiyue drew the map that the detector had detected. When the two compared the maps, they found that there were indeed some discrepancies.
Lin Beiyue's detector scanned an additional large area, while Nanzhu's resonance discovered three more small rooms, along with several potential dangers.
The zombie concentration inside is very high, with both quantity and quality present.
“There should be other people with superpowers here as well.” Lin Beiyue said solemnly, “Everyone, memorize the map, let’s go.”
With Shi Yin still nowhere to be seen, everyone's hearts began to pound.
Yan Qi took the lead and stood in the designated area. The others dispersed, and Yun Ce's wind was able to carry them briefly in the air, so everyone came into the air.
The surrounding temperature was rising, and it wasn't the kind of heat you'd expect in normal weather.
Yan Qi placed his hand on the ground, and one could see that, centered on him, the heat waves constantly surged around him, distorting the air, and the soil began to melt and even turn red, eventually resembling lava.
Gradually, everyone actually saw an entrance that looked like an underground parking garage.
The entrance slopes downwards, blocking out sunlight and leading nowhere. It's hard to believe that the people inside really entered through the main entrance, given how tightly the mud blocked it.
“This is not a good sign.” Nan Zhu frowned slightly. “There will be at least one very powerful earth-type ability user inside.”
If that's the case, they should have already been discovered.
Just as the world cannot exist without the wind, their every step is inseparable from the land.
I couldn't think too much about it. Since I was already here, I couldn't turn back. I couldn't see any trace of zombies with the naked eye, but the ground and ceiling around me had been damaged, and the metal walls on both sides were scratched.
Is this the laboratory?
