"Why did you do this? Aren't you strong? Why couldn't you just kill those zombies directly?!" Cheng Sui demanded excitedly, "How could you do this!"
“All ability users, unless they commit suicide to directly increase their usage to 10, cannot exceed 3. I am no exception.” Shi Yin said indifferently, “Two tigers cannot share one mountain. The one who can defeat a high-level manipulator is another high-level manipulator. This is the simplest method.”
"Zombies do not have the same sense of cooperation as humans, especially early-stage zombies. They have not yet evolved rational thinking. When similarly strong zombies appear around them, their first thought is competition, not eating."
"The truth is, I can take Jiang Ning and Wen Jinxue with me, but the manipulator is starving. It will lead all the zombies in a riot that will engulf the entire campus. Killing them won't solve the problem."
"In just half a day, there will be no one left alive in this school except us."
Cheng Sui's hands trembled slightly as she loosened her grip on Shi Yin's collar.
"My goal is big, and the more active I am, the more the zombies will riot."
"So that's why you brought me here." Cheng Sui almost gritted her teeth to powder. "Why? If it were you, you would never allow this to happen."
“Right, if it were me, none of this would have happened.” Shi Yin leaned against the wall, still not moving.
Cheng Sui stood there for a long time, feeling her fingertips digging into her flesh and stabbing her palm painfully. Finally, she gave Shi Yin a deep look and left without looking back.
There are always people in this world who are not afraid of death, and Cheng Sui is one of them. She didn't have any family, but she had friends.
"You really aren't going?"
A familiar voice came, and this time Shi Yin finally reacted. She looked to her side and saw a woman wearing a black cloak with a white mask on her face that looked so familiar.
Shi Yin remained silent, clutching her katana, lost in thought.
"Will I really become like you in the future? How terrifying." The woman took off her mask, revealing a face exactly like Shi Yin's.
She and Shi Yin were exactly the same from head to toe, except that this [Shi Yin] looked brighter, and her peach blossom eyes seemed to hold a thousand stars, and her gaze trembled like the fluttering of butterfly wings.
Shi Yin turned her face away, not wanting to meet his gaze.
"How can you be sure I'm yours?" Shi Yin changed the subject: "Maybe I'm some kind of monster that can disguise itself."
“It feels different. This is self-confidence. You should understand.” [Shiyin] pointed to herself: “I knew it. How could anyone in this world be better than me? Sure enough, only I can defeat myself.”
Shi Yin: "...You're right."
Only I can defeat myself.
"Since we still have some time, aren't you going to explain to me why you came here?" [Shiyin] curiously pinched Shiyin's cheek: "Ouch, I'm so pretty."
Shi Yin: "..."
“You’re not the first generation, you have a good understanding of superpowers, can’t you understand?” Shi Yin waved away [Shi Yin’s] hand: “You are the anchor point.”
"Of course I know. What I mean is, if I die, will you become the new anchor point?" [Shiyin] shrugged: "Can you have some expression? Smile! You're making this so awkward."
"By the way, why did you come here? Is my location better? But in my memory, I was also reborn. Is my anchor point my own world? And your anchor point is my world?"
"That's true, I'm a bit confused. Are we from different worlds?"
Shi Yin silently looked away.
They're talking too much; I don't want to continue.
"Does this have nothing to do with my nonsense?" Shi Yin interrupted herself. "Those things should be arriving soon."
"I'm very fast, when did you make this plan?" [Shiyin] could only stop talking: "If I don't show up, are you really going to let Xiaoxue and Jiang Ning sacrifice themselves?"
"Otherwise what?" Shi Yin retorted.
"Otherwise, you'll have to take the blame." [Shiyin] laughed a little strangely: "You gave each of them a badge, didn't you really think I'd get one?"
[Shiyin] raised the badge in her hand. The badge was shaped like the national flag and emblem, and it was bright red, making people's blood boil just looking at it.
"I tried it, and this thing is completely indestructible. It's probably meant to protect people, right?" [Shiyin] grinned mischievously. "I sensed the sensor function. The damage was transferred to you, wasn't it?"
"It only reduces the probability of death, not that they won't die. This thing will become ineffective once they turn into zombies," Shi Yin said calmly. "It only reduces the pain and the severity of injuries."
"Alright, I'll go in their place anyway." [Shiyin] didn't insist on getting any answer, waved her hand and turned around: "One last question, is it definitely me?"
"The best option is to minimize casualties," Shi Yin replied.
"Alright." [Shiyin] shrugged, which was considered a compromise.
"I thought you would struggle a bit, Mom and Dad are still at home." Shi Yin crossed her arms and leaned against the barrier, but looking at her own back, she always felt irritated.
"Are you the final version?" [Shiyin] asked.
Shi Yin didn't speak, which was taken as tacit agreement.
"Your presence here means I failed?" [Shiyin] touched her cheek, a little helpless: "If you succeed, it won't matter. Although I'm a little scared, if it's part of your plan, I'll still help you."
"After all, the fact that you're here means I'm not done yet."
"You're incredibly receptive," Shi Yin sighed. "We haven't even known each other for an hour."
"I'm smart, right? People who are too smart always have to bear a lot, so why don't you praise me?" [Shiyin] turned around and smiled at Shiyin, then disappeared in a flash.
There are many ways to eliminate a large number of zombies, such as directly blowing up the school, or becoming the manipulator and drawing out the mastermind. However, there is only one way: to make the pawns under your control lose control.
Shi Yin wasn't lying. In this script, someone had to sacrifice themselves, so Shi Yin understood immediately that as long as someone sacrificed themselves, it would be fine.
I can take her place.
When the cane lost its luster, the library ceiling was completely shattered, a giant hand clung to the broken walls, and the manipulator, as tall as a two-story building, stared at everything in the study room with blood-red eyes.
Holding the machete, Jiang Ning felt incredibly small and didn't know what to do.
The zombies filed in, like swarms of ants rushing toward a piece of candy.
As the light and shadow danced, Cheng Sui rushed over and witnessed this scene. She immediately understood what she had to do: she had to become the manipulator, kill this fellow human, and then go to Shi Yin to have her kill her.
But as soon as she entered the door, she saw [Shi Yin]. Cheng Sui froze on the spot, momentarily confused.
"Oh well, no matter how many times I die, it's still pretty scary." [Shiyin] put down her weapon and tapped her heart: "So, is it possible to just swallow it without chewing it?"
"At first I was thinking, why should it be me? But then I changed my mind. It should have been me anyway. I don't know how many times I've repeated this to get so boring."
"I can't imagine her despair, just as I can't imagine what I would do if I were in her shoes."
