This is the tallest building in the ruins. An elegant artist, with long, curly black hair outlined in gold by the sunlight, waves a conductor's baton, as if stepping back into a classical era.
"Boom boom boom—"
The world heard the sound of drums. Ji Chuan groaned, covered his ears, and lay on the ground. His heart was suddenly enveloped by some strange emotion, and even his brain and soul trembled.
"Buzz—"
The cello's deep, rhythmic concerto made the clouds in the sky churn, followed by a ensemble of violins and other instruments.
Nan Zhu recognized the tune as "Symphony of Mission." His reaction wasn't as strong as Ji Chuan's, but he still felt his muscles trembling uncontrollably.
Blood boils, moving to the rhythm.
This was only because they were too close to Agatha Christie and were affected by the aftershocks. It's unimaginable what the consequences would be if the symphony were actually applied to people.
They probably wouldn't last more than a few seconds before collapsing to the ground.
Standing on the side of humans to fight zombies is a waste of talent; zombies don't react as strongly as humans.
Nan Zhu thought to himself.
If Agarai were to truly become a zombie and use this ability against humans, probably no one would be able to withstand it.
Nan Zhu barely managed to lift his head. He seemed to vaguely see a symphony orchestra composed of countless musical instruments, playing, played by countless phantoms. Under Aga Ray's direction, those human-like shadows began to sing and murmur in unison.
The resonant sound reverberated through the heavens!
"Ugh—"
"roar---"
The zombies' voices grew closer; they growled and charged madly toward the building.
Nan Zhu barely managed to control his racing heartbeat. He could almost hear a steady stream of zombies gathering in the distance.
They were downstairs, but the ice was too slippery to climb up. However, the zombies piled up into small hills, stepping on the corpses of their companions, and slowly built up the hill, stubbornly climbing upwards.
Nan Zhu had heard Shi Yin say that Aga Ray's superpower was emotion, and the intense and surging emotion he was experiencing now must be excitement.
So, did Agarai give the zombies a boost of excitement, causing them to gather here at an extremely fast speed and in a state of high excitement?
So this is what superpowers are; superpowers can be used like this.
Buffs aren't just for allies; they can also be used on enemies, and with clever methods, they can achieve unexpected results.
The exciting, solemn, and dignified music lasted for about twenty seconds before the sound finally started.
She took a step forward, her boots treading upwards through the air, as if invisible steps were dragging her upwards.
She stood in the air, pointing her right hand into the sky. In the city, among the endless high-rise buildings and streets, countless pieces of iron flew into the air, decomposed into countless metal particles that condensed around Shi Yin, slowly solidified, and transformed into countless iron swords that hovered around Shi Yin.
His coat fluttered in the wind, and for a moment, Ji Chuan thought he had switched channels.
This doesn't seem like a modern post-apocalyptic story; it suddenly feels like a cultivation and martial arts novel, and it seems like the next moment should be a loud shout—"Sword, come!"
"Using this trick so early?" Agarei commanded, looking at Shi Yin's gesture with some surprise: "Such a blatant move is practically telling the mastermind that you're not in Yanlong Kingdom right now."
"If they can't even last ten minutes, then it's no wonder that humanity can't adapt to this era." Shi Yin waved her hand.
Countless iron swords gleamed with a chilling, icy light, spiraling upwards like a school of deep-sea fish, and spreading outwards like a meteor shower, slow yet steady. The rain of swords was like a cage, yet also like wings, as if one could hear the mournful cries of crows.
Ji Chuan suddenly remembered the most common and familiar move in the martial arts novels he read: Ten Thousand Swords Return to One.
But how many tens of thousands of iron swords are there in the air?
Shi Yin moved her hands up and down, seemingly trying to cover three states at once. She was gathering her strength, and clearly, this was not an easy task for her.
"In the name of victory, we are invincible."
"Hiding its sharpness for years, it has never been drawn."
Shi Yin stood in the air and took a step forward. Ten thousand swords moved with her. Her movements were slow and steady, and the world saw the sword light soaring into the sky.
She wanted to establish her authority.
Nan Zhu suddenly understood what Shi Yin meant.
"When we look back, the wind and lightning have passed, the stars have shifted, and in an instant, we have reached the four oceans and seven continents."
A storm of swords arose, their clashes echoing.
"Without desires or wants, I live a carefree life in a secluded corner. Now, I take this wish as my guide and choose it for a thousand lifetimes."
The sword light grew faster and faster, its luster enhanced by the sunlight, leaving trails like flying needles and threads, chasing the wind and the sun. Shi Yin stepped forward again, and countless short swords scattered in all directions, as dazzling as fireworks.
"Looking back, I have traversed ninety thousand miles, vanquishing demons and slaying gods and Buddhas, standing alone to guard the four directions!"
The silver sword light fell like a torrential downpour, and in an instant, the iron light crisscrossed, and the wind and rain rushed between heaven and earth, slicing open the heads of zombies and piercing through hundreds of meters before finally stopping.
As Agareth withdrew his baton, the intense music stopped instantly, and with the cessation of the zombies' wails, time seemed to have been paused.
Outside the three states, the Milica soldiers, sent by Agaray to the border to stop the zombies from entering the city, stared wide-eyed. Before they had even run out of bullets, the heads of all the zombies in front of them had already been pierced.
Rows of iron swords were nailed to the ground, as if a rain of swords had just fallen.
The girl in the air shrank to a black dot, yet in everyone's hearts she remained as unshakable as a mountain.
The three coastal states of Milica fell into a deathly silence. All living things, except for Nan Zhu and others in the high-rise building, were strangled and none survived.
A dark shadow flashed and disappeared from the sky, leaving only silence.
Shi Yin returned to the rooftop, and the world fell into dead silence, with only the damp, fishy smell carried by the wind lingering around everyone's noses.
"Miss." Nan Zhu stepped forward and, just before landing safely, instinctively reached out to catch Shi Yin's hand.
On the other side, Agarai was obviously very experienced and had been waiting on the side. Just before Shiyin landed, he stretched out his hands and stood on either side of Shiyin at almost the same moment as Nanzhu.
These two guys are starting to look more and more like doormen.
Shi Yin glanced at Nan Zhu and did not refuse. She was already used to all sorts of strange welcoming ceremonies; this was probably what they called a sense of ritual.
However, when Nanzhu caught Shiyin's left hand, he couldn't help but frown.
Shi Yin's hands were icy cold.
"Has Helmod already invented the enhancement agent?" Agarai looked at Shiyin returning to the rooftop with undisguised surprise. "No wonder you could sweep across an entire area. But, has your ability become stronger again?"
“Yes, you are all the continuation of the power of the first life, and I am the continuation of the previous life.” So, having continued for more than a thousand lives, it is naturally stronger than the previous one, Shi Yin admitted.
"So you're still planning to keep this a secret?" Agarai felt a chill run down his spine; he admitted he was startled by Shi Yin again.
"We've already reached a point where it's very difficult to suppress the news. The truth will probably be revealed in the next couple of days. I doubt you can hold out for much longer either."
