This series of attacks was so fast and smooth, it seemed to happen in the blink of an eye. If anyone else were present, they would be utterly shocked. This person actually suppressed Shi Yin in the very first moment.
Shi Yin wasn't too surprised. This person's ability to repeat itself was very high. It was still as fast as before, and the attacks were still as shrewd and ruthless as ever.
The next moment, Shi Yin's figure flickered, and those blade-like hidden weapons actually pierced straight through Shi Yin's body and swept behind her.
Just as he moved behind Shi Yin, the person who wanted to attack from both sides with the hidden weapons he had shot out was stunned for a moment. Seeing the dense array of hidden weapons flying towards him, the person reacted quickly, leaning back and bracing himself with his hands, rolling in the air, and actually dodging through the gaps between the hidden weapons.
"Clap clap clap clap clap".
The hidden weapons sank into the tree trunks and branches behind them, knocking down a string of snowflakes. At this moment, the hidden weapons finally revealed their true form. They were not blades at all, but just pieces of emerald green leaves.
“In this kind of weather, even evergreen trees would have a hard time surviving. Every leaf we use is one less available.” Shi Yin commented calmly, “Master Jingwu, I meant no harm.”
"Amitabha."
Before him, the monk stood still on the ground. He wasn't dressed very thickly, and perhaps because he had just finished exercising, there was even a thin layer of sweat on his forehead. His features were well-proportioned, and his expression was resolute.
"Master Jingwu, I, Shiyin, have a matter concerning my family and country that I would like to ask of the Buddha." Shiyin opened her arms and spread her hands to indicate that she had no ill intentions.
"Was that spell of yours that suddenly vanished like an illusion your ability?" Jingwu's eyes held no malice, but his attacking stance remained unchanged.
"I guess so," Shi Yin nodded.
“No wonder the abbot made me guard the gate.” Jing Wuwu stared intently at Shi Yin: “Amitabha, the Buddha said, to see the Buddha, one must first pass a test.”
"Please go ahead." Shi Yin did not stop him, but simply made a gesture of invitation.
If Jing Wu's attack, which was as fierce as a storm, were to be used on an ordinary person, someone with a slightly weaker mental fortitude would likely collapse.
His special ability is to make himself invisible, and in this state, his speed is greatly enhanced. Since Mingtai Temple is a place for martial arts training, this ability itself gives Jingwu a huge advantage.
As Shi Yin finished speaking, Jing Wu disappeared again, this time appearing behind Shi Yin once more. His speed was no slower than that of Lin Junyan, whom Lin Beiyue and the others had encountered.
Tokine reacted immediately, but she did not draw her katana, Murasame.
Firstly, Tokine genuinely had no intention of threatening or harming anyone this time. Murasame is far too sharp; a moment's carelessness could cost a life.
Secondly, Murasame is a cursed demon sword. If anyone's skin is cut even slightly, whether human or zombie, the curse will cover their entire body in a short time and forcibly take their life. If someone here is accidentally injured, the curse cannot be cured even with medical treatment.
With a wave of her right hand, Shi Yin took out a cane from her spatial storage. She found the cane that Helmod had made for her to be very convenient to use.
Shi Yin gripped her cane, suddenly turned around, and deftly flipped the cane left and right, drawing two beautiful arcs in front of her before thrusting it out diagonally.
"Ta-da!"
Three crisp metallic clanging sounds.
Jingwu's thrusting daggers were accurately deflected by Shiyin. As Jingwu held the dagger, Shiyin struck the blade with her staff. The force was so great that Jingwu felt a strong impact. The dagger's blade, struck by Shiyin's staff, pierced through Jingwu's clothes.
I moved behind her, so how did she determine my location?
Before Jingwu could think further, Shiyin struck him on the neck with her staff. He couldn't dodge in time and felt a tingling numbness in his neck.
Immediately, Shi Yin flew backward like a nimble black butterfly, quickly creating distance between them.
Wow, how could there be such a powerful woman in this world? Judging by her appearance, she looks to be no more than 20 years old, yet her reaction speed and skill are so impressive. Where did she learn her skills from?
Jing Wu paused for a moment, then went into stealth mode again and rushed behind Shi Yin. He was extremely fast and his movements were very light. It was difficult to see his footprints on the cleaned steps. In an instant, he moved behind Shi Yin again.
To Jingwu's surprise, just as he took out his hidden weapon to try to ambush Shiyin again, Shiyin seemed to have eyes in the back of her head and suddenly struck him on the forehead with her staff.
Now, Jingwu didn't need to break out of hiding; Shiyin simply used her staff to pull Jingwu out.
Fortunately, the cane head was made of a rounder and softer material, and Shi Yin held back her strength, so Jing Wu wasn't seriously injured.
That's incredibly strong, how can someone be so strong?
Jingwu knew he had given it his all, especially that last strike, where he had used almost everything he knew to deliver a fatal blow to Shiyin.
Of course, it wasn't aimed at any vital points, and Jingwu had no intention of harming anyone.
Shi Yin remained standing in the same spot from beginning to end. Except for the sudden sneak attack at the beginning that forced Shi Yin to dodge, Shi Yin did not even move an inch from the spot afterwards.
Jing Wu felt his fighting spirit ignited. He twirled the dagger in his hand and was about to step forward again, a hint of challenge creeping into his heart.
"Jingwu." An old and steady voice rang out from not far away, and Shiyin and Jingwu both stopped what they were doing.
"Master." Jingwu quickly bowed.
"Abbot Huiming." Shi Yin then bowed respectfully as well.
This man held a Zen staff and wore only a thin kasaya. His eyebrows and beard were already white, but his features were regular, and his brows revealed a sense of peace and wisdom.
“Jingwu, I have set up a test for you here. Do not let your selfishness cause you any trouble.” Abbot Huiming leaned on his staff and walked down the steps one by one. “I did some divination a few days ago and I think the person who came to visit is you.”
“Abbot Huiming, no offense intended. You have seen the apocalypse. As a representative of the nation, I hope that you and Mingtai Temple can join forces with the Buddha.” Facing Abbot Huiming, Shi Yin’s voice softened considerably: “If the lips are gone, the teeth will be cold. Zombies and the severe cold are attacking humanity. I hope that the temple can step forward in consideration of the free supplies provided by the nation.”
"What is your name, Miss?" Abbot Huiming asked.
“Shiyin.” Shiyin replied, “This is my national emblem; you can compare it.”
“Shiyin…playing a tune back and forth, why worry about those in the north and south not knowing the music?” Abbot Huiming nodded: “A good name.”
“Miss Shiyin, you should know that it is not difficult to ask me to come out of seclusion. I am not someone who is eager to escape the world and disregards the lives of others.” Abbot Huiming said in a deep voice, “To tell you the truth, since the end of this world came, our Mingtai Temple has organized and carried out many cleansing operations against demons.”
"But the demons are endless, and we are also caught in a snowstorm; our strength is ultimately limited."
"The difficulty in what you're saying isn't about asking us to come out of seclusion, but rather about wanting to borrow the power of the Buddha at our Mingtai Temple. This... requires permission from the Buddha, and we can only proceed if the Buddha agrees to help."
