Chapter 31 I'm Still Here

Guan Nianshan was really gritting his teeth. He had never been ordered around in his life. He had become the head of the family at a young age, and it was good enough that he didn't order others around. Why was he being ordered around one after another today?

Besides, he hasn't even agreed to be Shion's little brother yet!

How can this guy act so nonchalantly, like he's just visiting his own backyard?

"Hey, you'd better explain yourself clearly." Guan Nianshan followed a few steps behind: "Don't play riddles with me, miss. You have to tell me first, what exactly do you want?"

If Guan Nianshan hadn't been able to navigate both the legal and illegal worlds and had seen all sorts of monsters and demons, he probably would have already lost his temper and turned hostile by now.

Even if what you show is amazing, it doesn't necessarily mean you're a really awesome person, right? Maybe you used some kind of trick?

Shi Yin ignored Guan Nianshan's incessant complaints behind her and walked straight ahead.

Guan Nianshan took several deep breaths, almost grinding his teeth to powder. He followed Shi Yin, holding the thin, kitten-like little girl in his arms, an uncontrollable murderous intent appearing in his eyes.

So, you've come here to put on airs? You think you're so great just because you convinced Ye Shaoheng? You're actually acting all high and mighty in front of him?

Guan Nianshan followed Shi Yin up the last step. Just as Shi Yin stepped onto the last step, Guan Nianshan was about to say something when he saw Shi Yin wave her right hand behind her. A sense of danger made Guan Nianshan subconsciously stop in his tracks.

Immediately afterwards, the familiar golden double-headed gun appeared like a streak of light and was held in Shi Yin's hand.

Guan Nianshan still remembers the scene he saw when he arrived at that KTV room.

Before the person who suddenly went mad could even attack his companions, he was pinned to the wall by Shi Yin, without even a chance to beg for mercy.

Guan Nianshan had seen many big scenes. As someone who operated in the gray area, he had some tricks up his sleeve and had done some dishonorable things. But this was the first time Guan Nianshan had ever seen someone's head nailed to a wall in front of so many people.

They were fearless and ruthless.

Guan Nianshan thought he had switched to the wrong channel.

Isn't this a modern theme?

He wondered, "He's not a cultivator, is he? He just kills people like that? Murder for treasure?"

At that moment, Shi Yin drew her spear and flicked it casually, causing blood to spray onto the ground like waves. This single action made Guan Nianshan uneasy.

Guan Nianshan went to the neighboring Red Sun Kingdom and saw those private duels between samurai in the black market. Only a seasoned samurai could shake off the blood on his sword so skillfully after killing someone.

The girl in front of me, whether it was the way she picked up the weapon or the expression on her face when she killed someone, seemed completely out of place with her actual age.

This is why Guan Nianshan has been holding back until now, but has not dared to make a move.

Subconsciously, he felt that Shi Yin was not someone to be trifled with. Every time he wanted to use underhanded methods, a voice in his mind seemed to remind him not to act rashly.

It's as if if he were to make the first move and break this boundary, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Ugh—!"

"Aaaaaah—!"

"Hold him down, quickly hold him down!"

"How did he escape? Weren't you told to hold him down?"

"He's incredibly strong! We need more people!"

A period of chaos ensued.

Guan Nianshan's pupils suddenly contracted. He finally saw something he couldn't understand again from outside of Shi Yin.

A group of guards lay beside the man who broke through the barrier; a careful count revealed at least five or six.

This is not the strength a normal adult should have. This person is skinny and looks like someone who has been a fan of drugs for years. Even if he has trained, this shouldn't be the case.

Although Guan Nianshan never considered Ye Shaoheng a match, thinking he was mentally unstable, he still acknowledged Ye Shaoheng's skills. These people were Ye Shaoheng's confidants, whose fighting power was many times greater than that of ordinary adults; one of them could easily take on ten.

Now he's been blown away by five or six people?

This is outrageous!

Moreover, the person struggling in pain looked even stranger. Half of his face was covered with bluish-gray skin like tree bark, which seemed to be gradually spreading to the other half of his face, extending down to his collar, making it impossible to see how large the area was.

The red veins were particularly noticeable under the rough skin. The whites of the person's eyes were mostly visible, and the tiny black pupils, like pinpoints, were barely visible.

He clutched his neck and opened his mouth wide, his initial screams turning into a piercing sound, like the clattering of a rusty barbell. Just hearing it sent chills down your spine.

What made Guan Nianshan's scalp tingle the most was that this person's hair was falling out in clumps.

He looked like a free-spirited, artistic young man. He originally had medium-length, curly hair, and although he was unhealthily thin, his hair was prettier than a girl's.

However, her once beautiful hair is now falling out in clumps. After struggling on the ground for a few moments, only a third of her original hair remains, sparse and thin, making her look like a bald chicken.

Holy crap, what is this? Does this thing cause hair loss?

Guan Nianshan touched his forehead.

Well, my hair is still there, so it shouldn't be any infectious disease. I was terrified; I almost thought I was going to lose my handsome hair and never be able to make a living off my looks again.

Guan Nianshan was somewhat impressed with himself; at this moment, his focus was on hair loss.

Just as everyone was in a panic, the young man seemed to have come to his senses. He stopped clutching his neck and howling, and stiffly turned his head to look at the guard who had just gotten up from the ground.

Before the young guard could even stand properly, the young man pounced on him like a hungry tiger, causing him to slip and fall to the ground.

This half-zombie, half-human creature didn't pick at his neck or arms, nor did it mind the hard skull; it bit down on his face, scaring the young guard into instinctively closing his eyes.

A golden light flashed.

Understated yet dazzling, it vanishes in an instant, almost invisible under the warm yellow light.

The guard felt a sudden lightness in his body, as if something dazzling had flashed before his eyes like a shooting star. A dark figure stopped in front of him, bringing a refreshing fragrance that even dissipated the overwhelming stench of blood.

He nervously opened his eyes and met a pair of peach blossom eyes as cold as a deep pool. Her long, jet-black hair cascaded down like a waterfall, with warm light shining through the strands and onto the girl's long, narrow eyelashes, which shimmered as her eyelashes trembled.

At that moment, the young guard thought he had seen God.

"Stay vigilant at all times." Shi Yin stood up: "Ye Shaoheng chose you, so you should be prepared at all times."

The atmosphere remained stagnant for a long time.

Ye Shaoheng then stopped his forward momentum, leaned against the wall and slowly squatted down. This time, his legs were really a little weak, and he had a stronger sense of reality about the apocalypse once again.

I almost, I almost failed to protect this place.

If the virus spreads at the speed Shi Yin described, this place could fall tonight.

"Stand up." Shi Yin drew her spear and casually tossed it aside: "I'm still here."

"Yes, I'm sorry..." Ye Shaoheng's legs went weak, and at this moment he could only apologize and couldn't say anything else.

He almost let Shi Yin down.

Not long ago, he questioned Shi Yin.

Shi Yin was actually right. For a moment, he really felt that Shi Yin had let him down. Only now did Ye Shaoheng come to his senses that he didn't know why he had unintentionally "deified" Shi Yin.

And now, just now, I almost messed things up. Besides feeling guilty, I also feel my cheeks burning.

"Stand up." Shi Yin stood in front of Ye Shaoheng, who was squatting on the ground and could only look up at her: "Are you scared?"
