Chapter 214 Strange Sales

"Sister Beiyue, aren't there a lot of people?" Gu Changge peered out the window, her face stiff. "Are we going to kill them all?"

Killing zombies and killing people are not even in the same league.

And if they really killed all of them, wouldn't that be considered a massacre? Their team wasn't all veterans; there were many new recruits too. Wouldn't killing so many people cause psychological problems?

“…If I’m too late.” Lin Beiyue gritted her teeth.

"Don't be soft-hearted. We only protect the people of Yanlong Kingdom." Qin Jin whispered a reminder: "The order is very clear. Once exiled, you will no longer be considered a citizen of any country."

“Although using superpowers more than twice or three times will result in a 30,000-word self-criticism, now is not the time to enforce the rules.” Gu Changge looked at Lin Beiyue beside her expectantly: “How about you give us two submachine guns?”

"The point isn't the self-criticism." Lin Beiyue said helplessly. Was she such a rigid person?

The key issue is that they currently have no breakthrough point. There are too many people surrounding them, and rushing out to fight them is not a good option. However, if they hide in the guard booth and fire machine guns or similar weapons outwards, the space becomes somewhat limited.

There are at most two windows here.

"I think we'd better go outside," the healing-type girl nicknamed Daisy said timidly, raising her hand. "What if they have Molotov cocktails or something?"

Before she could finish speaking, two loud bangs came from the window. Everyone turned around and saw Qin Jin making a gesture to put away his gun.

"They really do have incendiary bombs," Qin Jin commented helplessly.

Everyone looked out the window, wondering what was inside the homemade Molotov cocktail that had been smashed by Qin Jin in mid-air and continued to burn for a while after landing on the snow.

Fortunately, the snow was heavy enough to bury the burning flames in no time.

"Aren't we being too cautious? Let's just charge out." One teammate couldn't contain himself: "Even though we outnumber them, we're stronger than them, let's fight!"

"But don't you find it strange? If someone hadn't suddenly screamed outside, we wouldn't have noticed anyone was there at all." Qin Jin frowned. "Has any of you carefully read the manual on superpowers compiled by Shi Yin? Even the more common superpowers are listed in the hundreds."

"I'm fairly confident in my vigilance; there are definitely superhumans hiding their presence outside."

“But staying here isn’t a solution either,” Gu Changge agreed, “the most important things for an exploration team are exploration and courage. What kind of image would we have if we just stayed here?”

“Indeed.” Lin Beiyue was actually in favor of rushing out, and Qin Jin, after a moment’s thought, agreed as well.

They are now in a dilemma. Since most people want to choose a more radical approach, Qin Jin has no objection.

"Knock knock knock".

There was a sudden knock on the door.

Lin Beiyue and her group were all stunned. They wondered if they had misheard and listened intently for a long time.

"Knock knock knock".

There was another knock on the door.

The knocking sounded very gentle, without any hint of hostility. If it weren't for the dense crowd of menacing people standing outside the door, Lin Beiyue and her group would probably have thought they were hallucinating.

"Did I hear wrong? Someone is knocking on the door?" Gu Changge took two steps forward to check the situation outside the door, but Qin Jin stopped her in time.

"I'll go." Qin Jin walked to the door.

"Bang bang bang!"

This time the knocking was louder.

"Hello, dear friend, I think there's still some room for us to communicate. Why don't you open the door and we can have a proper chat?" A nonchalant voice rang out from outside the door. It didn't sound forceful.

The crowd looked at each other, none daring to be the first to open the door.

If that group of people were watching them intently from outside, and then attacked them en masse after they came out, they could still roar and charge forward to fight them to the death.

But now that there's no movement from outside, and instead someone has been sent over to negotiate, they're starting to feel apprehensive.

"Knock knock".

"Um~ dear lady~" A face with a buzz cut and wearing sunglasses suddenly pressed against the window, startling the team member leaning against the window, who took several steps back.

"Relax a bit, everyone. Actually, fighting won't do us any good, will it?" The man with the buzz cut outside the window took a few steps back.

Everyone saw his entire appearance through the window. He really wasn't accompanied by anyone else; he was only carrying two huge suitcases.

Judging from his relaxed arms, it's likely that there aren't banknotes inside.

Something's fishy...

Lin Mingyue and the others exchanged glances, and finally nodded, cautiously opening the door a crack.

There seemed to be nothing unusual outside the door. The person carrying two suitcases stood a few steps away, looking at them politely. They didn't seem aggressive, and even the people surrounding them didn't draw their guns.

Lin Beiyue then fully opened the door.

"Hey friends, guess who's here? That's right, it's me, the one who brings you joy and, incidentally, comes to negotiate... the sales champion! Please call me Salesman Li."

The man in front of me had a fairly well-proportioned figure. His lower face, visible through his sunglasses, had lips that were a little pale from the cold. His hair was neatly combed back with a hairspray, and he was wearing a black suit.

"Alright, alright, friends, don't be nervous. It's normal for us to be wary when you suddenly step into our territory, right?" Salesman Li squeezed in a few steps: "It's really warm in here. I almost froze to death outside."

"What are you doing here, a salesperson?" Gu Changge asked suspiciously. "You sent a salesperson to negotiate?"

"Good salesmanship is normal." Salesman Li put his two suitcases on the ground. "Whoever is better at talking should come and negotiate, right? What if it escalates the conflict? We don't want to fight either; mutual attacks are bad for neither of us, right?"

No one responded.

That's certainly true, but in such a bizarre setting, saying it makes it seem ridiculously unbelievable.

“We meant no harm. We just heard that the Junlin Battle Group wanted to take a break on the 8th. We’ll leave in just one day.” Lin Beiyue thought for a moment, then decided to conceal the fact that she had just killed Lin Junyan.

"Oh, is that so? Sure, sure, let's go together later." Salesperson Li said with a smile as she opened her suitcase. "But I'm freezing, how about we play a game while I rest for a bit?"

"Come on, I also brought a few drinks, although there are only 3 bottles of coffee, but supplies are scarce, so please make do with these?"
