With just one glance, the woman wearing the mask's pupils suddenly contracted, and Shi Yin was also stunned for a moment; the two of them reacted almost simultaneously.
They simultaneously brandished their swords, knocking each other away, but Shi Yin still didn't retreat an inch. Behind her was Cheng Sui, and she couldn't back down.
However, another person used the recoil to retreat more than ten meters, putting distance between themselves and Shi Yin.
At the same time, the woman raised her hand and brandished her sword. Using the force of the sword, she made the man somersault backward more than ten meters.
Although Shi Yin stood still, she paused for a moment.
In an instant, the two of them simultaneously raised their knives and swung them forward. There was no sharp blade light, only a sinister chill. The two chills collided and canceled each other out. The dissipated chill struck the wall, instantly causing a thin layer of frost to rise on the walls of the corridor on both sides.
Inside the study room, people resting against the wall were startled by the sudden cold and moved away from it.
The two stood facing each other in the corridor. Shi Yin did not move, and Cheng Sui was behind her.
"Who are you?"
"Not you?"
Two questioning voices rang out almost simultaneously, one after the other, but the woman wearing the white mask clearly had her voice disguised, making it impossible to discern her original voice.
Shi Yin understood immediately. No wonder she always felt her investigation was being hindered after arriving at this school; it turned out that the flood had washed away the Dragon King Temple.
"Get out of my way." The woman in the white mask had a dark look in her eyes. "I have no intention of getting entangled with you."
"Eh? That won't do." Shi Yin chuckled lightly, weighing the katana in her hand. "I don't even know who I am, and you're asking me for someone... Is that really okay?"
"Get out of the way, I'm not in the mood to know who you are right now." The woman in the white mask said anxiously, "The person behind you is the zombie king of this school's zombie horde!"
"What did you say?!" Before Shi Yin could speak, Cheng Sui was completely stunned.
Cheng Sui looked around, repeatedly confirming that she was indeed the only one behind Shi Yin. She pointed at herself in disbelief, and then checked again and again.
"Are you talking about me?" Cheng Sui was stunned.
"You should have already figured it out, though I don't know why..." The masked woman paused, "Anyway, you should have figured it out, otherwise you wouldn't have brought her out to escape alone. If we don't kill her quickly, what if something unexpected happens..."
“It’s certainly good to stay clear-headed and rational, but biased information can lead to biased results.” Shi Yin stood in front of Cheng Sui, not giving an inch: “What would you do if my choice leaned more towards saving her?”
Shi Yin looked relaxed, completely unfazed by the danger, as if the masked man posed no threat to her whatsoever.
But the masked woman recognized the way Shi Yin wielded the knife. It was a seemingly leisurely yet constantly vigilant defensive stance, keeping the muscles in motion so that she could react to any situation at the first moment.
The person in front of me is an impeccable master!
But... how is that possible?
The woman touched the mask on her face and slowly squatted down.
The world seemed to fall silent for a moment, and even the noise faded away.
In an instant, the woman wearing a white mask lunged forward, like a cannonball, creating a loud bang in the air behind her.
This time, however, she sheathed her sword, and only when she was right in front of Shi Yin, almost touching her, did she draw it with lightning speed, like a thunderclap.
Sword-drawing stance.
But this time, they still failed.
The two identical sword-drawing techniques collided, canceling each other out as if it were the same icy blade they had just unleashed. Only the buzzing sound of the blades told the three people present.
That wasn't a joke.
“Wasting your time on me is not a good idea.” Shi Yin pointed behind the masked woman, her words carrying a hidden meaning.
"roar--!"
The roar of zombies came from the doorway.
They've wasted too much time here.
Shi Yin flicked her wrist and brandished her sword again. This time, they finally made a different move. The woman wearing the white mask did not resist, but simply used the force of the sword to retreat again and create distance.
Neither of them glanced behind them, as if the sudden appearance of zombies behind them was of no concern to them.
The woman wearing a white mask landed lightly with a somersault, and as she flipped her wrist, she twirled the katana in her hand and sheathed it. With just this landing motion, she casually sliced off a piece of a zombie's head.
Elegant, so elegant.
If this person hadn't wanted to kill him, Cheng Sui would have at least given him a compliment.
This time, however, the masked woman did not stop or choose to continue confronting Shi Yin. Perhaps she sensed the difference in strength, or perhaps she knew that continuing the confrontation would only be a waste of time and would not yield any results.
The woman turned around and darted out the door.
That's incredibly fast!
Cheng Sui blinked, a little confused. Just now, the person opposite her had pointed a knife at her, calling her the zombie king and acting as if he was going to kill her to uphold justice. How come he left after only a few words?
Cheng Sui thought Shi Yin would have a fierce battle with that woman.
And why does that person look so familiar?
"What, what's going on?" Even if Cheng Sui was very smart, so many things had happened in such a short time that her brain CPU was overloaded.
"It's nothing, just a minor incident." Shi Yin calmly sheathed her sword, seemingly not taking it to heart: "Don't worry, she's just saying it; she's always soft-hearted."
"What do you mean... wait a minute, that's not the point, is it? What's with the zombie king? Me?" Cheng Sui pinched his thigh.
Ouch! That hurts!
Thankfully, it still feels human.
Cheng Sui touched her chest again.
Oh dear, that was scary! I was just startled, and my heart is still pounding. Now I know I'm still human.
Although I feel like I accidentally insulted myself, how could she be a zombie queen?
“As long as you don’t turn into a zombie, you won’t be the Zombie King.” Shi Yin shrugged: “Calling you the Zombie King is inaccurate. If you really become a zombie, to explain it using the game you understand best, you should become one of the final bosses.”
It's still strange, though, that the final bosses who brought the End were all very strong and none of them were missing.
"Are you serious?" Cheng Sui pointed to himself: "Me? One of the final bosses? Me?"
Cheng Sui is very self-aware.
She's just a bit smarter and good at helping everyone with exams; she spends most of her time in her dorm playing games. She's skinny and thin, and can't compare to Shi Yin, let alone Jiang Ning.
Although it's not to the point of dizziness or low blood sugar after a few steps, how good can a homebody's constitution be?
"That's why I say it's theoretical, since there are discrepancies between the facts I know and my theory." Shi Yin pondered for a moment.
"Maybe you died too quickly. Growth-type bosses are like human geniuses; only those geniuses who survive are true geniuses, and only the bosses who survive to the end are the final bosses."
