Chapter 354: One Hour Call

As soon as it was two o'clock in the afternoon, the call came.

The entire Limo town seemed to suddenly come alive, and all the lights in the surrounding houses were lit up.

Although it was still foggy outside, there was electricity in the room and everything became bright.

Su Keke and Grandma Qiao wanted to walk around the homestay while there was electricity.

The two took the key, closed the door, and came to the attic passage.

There were exquisite wall lamps on both sides of the attic passage, and the floor was covered with thick carpets that made no sound when they stepped on them. This felt much better than when they came up.

Su Keke and Grandma Qiao had just come down from the attic when they met Chen Yiren who was about to go upstairs.

"How is it? Are you satisfied with the room?" Chen Yiren asked with a smile.

"It's great! We wanted to come down and take a look while the electricity is still on!" Su Keke didn't beat around the bush and told Chen Yiren the truth.

"That's possible! How about I take you to the public areas here. When you get bored in your room, you can go sit in these places and drink tea or coffee or something."

As Chen Yiren spoke, she took Su Keke and Grandma Qiao to the first floor.

"Of course! If Sister Yiren is not busy, she can take us around!" Su Keke took Grandma Qiao's arm, and they followed Chen Yiren and began to look carefully at this place which was still very unfamiliar to them.

"But there is one thing I must remind you of. The electricity only lasts for one hour! If you want to cook or wash clothes, you have to do it during this time!" Chen Yiren walked to the lobby on the first floor and suddenly turned back to remind Su Keke and the others.

"Okay! Sister Yiren, I remember! We'll just walk around a bit, get familiar with your environment, and then go upstairs to cook some instant noodles."

Su Keke's face showed curiosity about everything here. When she reached the lobby on the first floor, she wanted to go out and open the door to take a look.

"Keke! The front door is right outside the front desk. There's nothing to see at the front door, so I'll take you to the kitchen!

"The kitchen here is open. Guests staying or dining here can come in and have a look. Food hygiene is guaranteed. You can also bring your own ingredients and cook! If you want to make instant noodles later, you can come to the kitchen and get some hot water!"

The kitchen is quite large and is fully equipped with all kinds of kitchen equipment. Grandma Qiao's eyes lit up when she looked at these baking tools, as these are her favorite things.

“This is our B&B’s cook, Vicky. Everyone likes to call her Auntie Ji!”

Chen Yiren pointed to a local middle-aged fat woman who was busy in the kitchen and introduced her to Su Keke and the others.

"Let me tell you, Aunt Ji's grilled lamb chops, lobster soup, and smoked lamb heads are the signature dishes of our B&B. When the fog is over, you must try them!"

"Oh! Then we must try it when we have the chance." Su Keke and Grandma Qiao nodded together.

"Hello!"

When Weiji saw the boss Chen Yiren bringing people in, she put down the dough she was kneading and politely greeted Su Keke and Grandma Qiao, just like she used to do when receiving guests visiting the kitchen.

"Sister Yiren! Aunt Ji speaks Chinese well! Your employees are amazing!"

Su Keke smiled and gave Aunt Ji a thumbs up.

"Our boss taught us well! Your Chinese language is broad and profound, and some ancient Chinese words are particularly profound. I still need to learn from my boss!"

Weiji spoke fluent Chinese with a humble look on her face. Without looking at her appearance, anyone would think she was a native Chinese.

"Ding!" Suddenly the oven next to it made a dripping sound, and then stopped working.

Vicky calmly put on scald-proof gloves, opened the oven, took out a freshly baked hot dog, and placed it on a rectangular stainless steel plate.

The hot dogs just out of the oven had a strong aroma of bread. Su Keke and Grandma Qiao couldn't help but say, "It smells so good!"

"How about you try one? Aunt Ji's hot dogs are always very popular. But the store has limited supplies right now, so you two can only share one hot dog!"

As Chen Yiren said this, she asked Aunt Ji to pick out a hot dog and pack it for Su Keke and Grandma Qiao.

"No, no! Sister Yiren, you don't have to be so polite! We brought our own bread." Su Keke quickly waved her hand to refuse.

There are many kinds of bread in her space, some of which are freshly baked and steaming. Chen Yiren has been emphasizing that the store is short of supplies, so how can she have the nerve to ask for it.

Seeing Su Keke and the others refuse, Chen Yiren did not insist. After all, the food in the restaurant was really gone as soon as you ate it.

"Oh, by the way! Aunt Ji! How much food do we have left?" Chen Yiren suddenly asked.

"We can only hold out for two days at most. If the authorities still don't allow supermarkets and vegetable markets to operate normally after two days, we will probably go hungry."

Weiji spread her hands towards Chen Yiren and said helplessly.

"Okay! I'll think of a solution then! Make some delicious food and send it to John's room. He said he doesn't want to come downstairs for lunch today."

"Okay, boss!" Viggie responded and started kneading the dough again. Her movements were quick and smooth, and she completed the whole process smoothly.

"Sister Yiren, if you have something to do, just go ahead and do it! Grandma Qiao and I can just take a walk by ourselves!"

When Su Ke saw Chen Yiren and Weiji were discussing work, she decided to leave with Grandma Qiao.

"That's fine! Remember to pour the hot water when you need it! The rooms in the middle are public areas, you can go and have a look for yourself!"

Chen Yiren pointed to the front desk and kitchen on the first floor to Su Keke and the others, then raised her hand and pointed to the same areas upstairs, meaning that they could go to these places.

"Okay! I got it!" Su Keke said and left the kitchen with Grandma Qiao.

Just then, they met the man and woman they had seen in the living room on the second floor that morning. They were holding sausages and instant noodles in their hands, and it seemed that they were planning to eat instant noodles for lunch like Su Keke and the others.

Su Keke and Grandma Qiao nodded politely to them and planned to go upstairs.

"Hello! May we ask, are you from China?"

The woman asked a little excitedly when she saw Su Keke and Grandma Qiao.

"Yes!" Su Keke didn't know what the other party wanted to do, so she pulled Grandma Qiao to her side and just answered "yes".

"We are also Chinese. We want to ask you if China is doing well now? Has communication and transportation been restored? How did you get here?"

Facing the woman's series of questions, Su Keke simply gave a more official answer, "Communications and transportation should not have been restored yet. Currently, tsunamis and earthquakes have occurred in many places. The situation is not very good!"
