Chapter 398 No Call at Two O'clock

Time quickly came to two o'clock in the afternoon, and strangely, there was no call today.

By now everyone was basically awake. Aunt Ji and A Lan had been preparing for a long time, just waiting for the electricity to bake bread and cook.

The others went out for a day run yesterday and were all sweaty. They were all waiting for the electricity to come back on at 2pm so they could take a hot shower.

Now, without electricity, nothing can be done.

In the lobby on the first floor, Chen Yiren asked Aunt Ji to fry the vegetables on the stove first, and as for toasting bread, she could change it to making pancakes! In short, everyone had to have lunch first.

Chen Lu and Chen Shuang were also sitting on the sofa in the hall, looking depressed.

What are they going to do now that they have lost the only one hour of electricity each day?

Except for Su Keke and Grandma Qiao, everyone upstairs ran downstairs holding candles to inquire about the situation.

"Why is there no electricity at two o'clock?"

Ah Xun was scratching his messy hair. He was waiting for the phone to come and wash his hair.

"Yeah! I took off all my clothes and planned to take a nice hot bath!"

John, wearing a bathrobe with most of his chest exposed, stood at the second floor stairs and complained.

"Based on what happened yesterday, many places must have been attacked by poisonous bees. Will there be no electricity in the future?"

Shanna frowned and said as she walked down the stairs.

"What can we do? There is no food and no electricity. Isn't this pushing people to a dead end?"

Leah had a worried look on her face. It had been a week since the fog outside had set in. People couldn't go out and the supermarkets were closed. Both she and Kendin were almost unable to bear it.

Dr. Huang had originally wanted to take a hot bath while the power was on, but the lack of power seemed to be within his expectations. After all, the hospital and the police station were attacked by poisonous bees yesterday.

Then the town’s power supply station would certainly not be able to escape.

He was wondering what would happen to those people who were still hiding in the hospital if they were faced with a sudden power outage?

It would be a better choice for Shanna and I to follow Chen Yiren out.

At least we're not surrounded by those bees yet.

Seeing that everyone was complaining and panicking, Chen Yiren came out of the kitchen and said, "Don't worry, the electricity may be restored soon. Aunt Ji is already cooking on the stove, and we will all eat together later."

When Chen Yiren said they were going to eat together, she also glanced at Fei Xun and Leah. Her meaning was very clear, which was to ask them to come and eat together.

"Thank you, Sister Yiren. I'll go up and call Wanying down."

Fei Xun was worrying about what to eat for lunch! They had finished their instant noodles yesterday, and the only two boxes of biscuits were eaten by him and Wanying before going downstairs.

Because when I just woke up, I found that I was very hungry!

"Yiren, Kendin and I are coming to eat. Do you have enough food?"

Leah was a little embarrassed because she knew Chen Yiren didn't have much stock left. And she had to support so many employees in the B&B.

"Leah, it's okay. You two can come on! We'll all figure out a solution after we finish the food."

Chen Yiren came over, patted Leah on the shoulder, and told him with a smile to call Kendin down quickly because dinner would be ready soon.

After hearing what Chen Yiren said, Leah's mood immediately improved. Like Fei Xun, she went upstairs to call for help.

"Aunt Ji! How are the biscuits baking?" Chen Yiren walked into the kitchen again and asked.

Under the dim candlelight, Aunt Ji and A-Lan rolled out the bread-shaped dough into a thin layer of crust.

The other one was swinging the frying pan, and the crust in the pan was shaking. The posture looked like he was making Indian flying pancakes.

"Alan, I didn't expect you to be such a good cook!"

Chen Yiren watched A Lan swinging the frying pan and occasionally flipping it over. His movements were smooth and very handsome.

"That's right. I've been learning from Aunt Ji for almost two months. Aunt Ji said that my skill in making pancakes is good enough to be a master. Hehe..."

A Lan felt a little flattered by Chen Yiren's praise, and he became more and more active in shifting the blame.

"Oh! Alan, please don't throw my cake away!"

Aunt Ji, who was rolling out dough at the side, said with a smile.

She told Chen Yiren that after she rolled out the dough and asked A Lan to fry it, they could start eating.

Chen Yiren then remembered that Su Keke and Grandma Qiao hadn't come downstairs. She thought to herself, could it be that they haven't woken up yet? Otherwise, if there was no call at two o'clock, she would definitely come downstairs to ask.

"I'll go upstairs and call Su Keke! When you two are done, take the food to the small dining room."

After Chen Yiren finished speaking, she went upstairs carrying her little lantern.

Su Keke and Grandma Qiao had eaten and drunk their fill, and were now playing chess with Grandma Qiao.

The fact that there was no electricity at 2 o'clock didn't affect them in any way. Besides, Su Keke had expected that there would be a power outage, so she didn't think of going down to ask.

Grandma Qiao said that playing a few games of chess after dinner can help digest the food.

"General!"

Grandma Qiao’s “car” directly clashed with Su Keke’s “general”.

Su Keke was about to retreat to the left when she discovered that Grandma Qiao's "cannon" was waiting for her on the left with a "horse" between them. The right side was already blocked by her own "soldier".

"Oh... why did I lose again... and I lost three games in a row. Oh my god, I'm not going to play anymore. Next time I'll definitely play half the card."

Su Keke muttered to herself with a look of dissatisfaction.

"It seems like you didn't win much in the second half!"

Grandma Qiao glanced at Su Keke with a faint smile and put all the chess pieces into a wooden box.

"At least I've won before. I've never won before, and this has really hit my self-confidence."

Su Keke stood up from the chair and lay down on her bed. Tangyuan was still scratching the tablet with its chubby little paws.

While she was playing chess with Grandma Qiao, she found a small fruit-cutting game for Tangyuan.

It's a game where fruits fall down from the screen and you cut them with a swipe of your finger. Tangyuan has a lot of fun playing it.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Then Chen Yiren's voice came over, "Su Keke! Grandma Qiao! Are you awake?"

When Su Keke heard this, she quickly took Tangyuan and the tablet into the space, and then came out alone.

After Grandma Qiao put away the chess pieces, she went to open the door.

"It's Yiren! Do you want to talk to us about something?"

Grandma Joe asked.

"It's like this. I don't know what happened today. There's no electricity at this time. We cooked lunch on the stove and wanted you to come down and eat something."

Chen Yiren said with a smile while holding a lantern.

"Sister Yiren, we have already eaten the bread. You don't have to be so polite and come to call us."

Su Keke walked out of the room and said.

"It's not a good thing, let's just have a simple meal together. Don't be polite to us. I haven't formally thanked you for what happened yesterday."

After Chen Yiren finished speaking, she went downstairs first.

Su Keke and Grandma Qiao looked at each other and thought it was okay to go down. They also told her about seeing someone going to the supermarket to get supplies.

She believed that smart people would not just sit at home and wait for death.
